Ice36
With the new JM 327 coming out, all the feedback has been interesting. But my thought is what would you build if you could to make the best USPSA\IPSC revolver.
MikeBurgess
I really like the 627 v comp so I would probably build a 929 with a similar barrel profile to that. Edited May 22 by MikeBurgess
Bill Sahlberg
The original 627 8 shot 5" bbl was S&Ws best gun. It shoots so many different cases well and full moon clips make reloading a breeze!
nate89
No idea on the "best," but I would like to see a basic 9mm like the 627 I have, steel frame and cylinder, a shorter barrel with no compensator, and a shorter barrel than the current 929. I'd like to think it would bring the price down to around $1,000 street price like I've seen the 627s at local shops going for. I think having a matching set of 8 shot guns in 357 and 9mm would be excellent, and I would buy one right away.
Bill Sahlberg
Love your idea but $1000 is just a 33% down payment now on the new S&W 327, only in 9MM

Joe4d
5 inch flat sided barrel, with a 38 short colt cylinder cut for moons of course.

I could have worked out the ammo issue and just made specialized ammo and kept it seperate from my 9mm auto... I mean 38 short is special,,, Coulda saved all my purple brass for revolver
Dr. Phil
I use everything the same (reloading setup including crimp), case, primer and powder for all of my 9mm. 929 I use the .357 0r .358 bullet. They get dumped into separate buckets. The larger bullets don't like my PCC much. I actually like a bit more weight out front, but with the 'no comp' end. NV Guide
627-4 made for 38 super but will shoot 9mm if I roll size it in the super dies and use coated bullets

I had a vision of what I wanted, and after I paid a second guy to fix what the first guy ####ed up, it came true. I used a Bowen front sight base, and an SDM Super Sight. And a Wiegand rear sight blade.

Joe4d
I am thinking of getting a 6" 610 , having the underlug partially removed and barrel slotted. Any issues with 40 and moon clips ? I seem to recall the 646 having issues back in the day. Thinking a limited Big 6 gun and 40 might be a bit faster on the reloads than 38.

Alaskan454
I kinda wish I had gone .38 super 5" on my guns. I have enough 9mm ones, I will likely stick with it long term.
MikeyScuba
Lotion of super brass floating around after super comp became the to go round and a lot of us would be happy to get rid of that @@@@. however in a 120pf game does one need that much case capacity? Thanks! unless you can put a new barrel on my 627, want something 5-6 inches with a fiber optic front, but about same weight / balance as my 5" L frame flat side.
