PeterParfinik
14.5" barrel with pinned comp or 16" with any comp for Steel Challenge? Link to comment
Gregg K
I would go with the shorter lighter barrel given a choice. Link to comment
TNREDNECK
I like 14.5 , and lite, and accurate. Some of the ultra lite barrels are not accurate FYI Link to comment
RaylanGivens
I have both... I use the 14.5 pinned and welded barrel... Lighter... Faster transitions. Link to comment

Bwillis
Out of those two options all day long and twice on Sunday I pick 14.5 with whatever comp you want. Link to comment
lacivilian
I would try to find a 7-10' barrel with a shroud if you are legitimately serious about competing in steel challenge with a pcc. Link to comment
mdriskell
Taccom has a 5.25" with a shroud to make it 16". That would probably be the lightest. I have their 14.5" pinned extreme feed ramp upper with a 13" carbon fiber handguard and it is extremely light so I can't imagine what their ULW (ultra lightweight) 5.25" with the shroud feels like. cecil
I just finished building a PCC using Taccom's 5.25" ULW barrel assembly... shot it at a local range last weekend... this range would not let me shoot a rifle on the pistol bays.. so I had to use the 100 yd bay... shot 5 shots from a rest & checked the target... l could cover all 5 holes with the palm of my hand... Taccom's 5.25" ULW barrel is VERY ACCURATE Link to comment
TRUBL
HE with the lightest front end can swing faster......something we learned from our Ruger Rimfire Days. That being said......TACCOM 16" ULW barrel is 15 ounces. Link to comment
scffacenter1
Taccom ulw is the way to go for steel challenge. It's the fastest pointing barrel I've run yet. No problems with accuracy at all. Link to comment
Tampa-XD45
Whatever combo give you the lightest weight. I run a 7" barrel which has worked well for steel. Link to comment
RocketRyan
I personally don't think it matters, it's about the practice you put into. I have shot well with a Ruger PCC and a JP GMR-15, both are tanks with long barrels, but I've put in a lot of practice with them. I also have seen 'Tampa-XD45' burn it down with his SBR at his matches. Choose what you want and put in the time. Link to comment
