  1. I see many using the VQ and TK triggers, anyone using the Majestic Kit?
  2. When I was shooting a fixed length stock I had the fore end littered with painters tape marking my forward hand position for each stage. The dynamics of the whole gun can drastically change depending on how far forward or rearward your hand placement. The same way an adjustable stock on an AR style gun can alter the feel and swing. When I started shooting an AXIOM stock I also tried the butt stock adjustment on each stage. My conclusion was to adjust the length of pull and find a front hand placement where the gun was balanced in my hands. At that point it never felt like an elephant trunk hanging out there. This also goes for the weight of the gun. I currently am shooting a JP-5 and JP-22 set up as identical as possible 5-1/2 lbs and 5 lbs. The weight does not matter because the guns are very well balanced. Just like one pro hooks their finger on the front of a pistol guard and another doesn’t , give it a good try and if it works for you then stick with it or change it up again, always looking for that small edge that works for you. Good luck with this technique and let us know if it helps you out.
  3. Thank you for the reply, I am going to keep my eyes open for a sale
  4. Anyone ever try or have experience with a Rise Armament RA-535 ? VS TriggerTech Diamond AR15 Single stage?
  5. TY for the replies, awesome amount of information.
  6. I am a firm believer that the first one is never the right one, and also buy once cry once. I like to take equipment out of the equation and know when I miss that it's me and not the equipment. Not ready to dive into a top dollar item but, want to know that the equipment can outperform me. I will always try to go as far as I can, whatever that is.
  7. In the past I have always opted for the lightest reliable trigger pull that kept the gun safe and operating correctly, sub 2 lbs. Now I am completely rethinking that methodology and increasing both the weight of my guns and trigger pulls. I find that the 3-4 lb range gives such a positive break, reset, and overall reliability to most guns that I shoot. just curious what others are currently doing?
  8. Also, is anyone using a semi auto ? I see JP rifles has just debuted one at this years Shot Show for this game.
  9. I have always tried to get my finger in the guard as I was lifting my second foot off of the ground, did not always achieve it as fast as wanted to. I have also had foot faults called when I discharged the gun with one foot in the air. I guess we are going to see how this is applied at Worlds this year and if some clarifications comes from it.
  10. I do not participate in centerfire so all of it is very new to me. I picked up a used RPR and an Arken 5-25. I saw a lot of Vudoo's as well as Bergara's and actions with barrels I did not recognize the names of based on the 700 action. I also saw some CZ MTR's. I know it personal choice , but are most of the competitors using the equipment based off of the 700 action ?
  11. Just starting with this discipline and wanted to see what kind of equipment people are using, rifles, scopes rangefinders etc.
  12. Get some kind of fan so you can have a few windows open and create a cross ventilation.
  13. Second This! Goals are very fluid, and the goalpost is constantly changing. At one time my stretch goal was to break 100 (RFRO). Now my short term goal is to consistently shoot 100% every time I am on the line. Either way, making it or not, The best part is enjoying time with friends.
  14. AMG is a fantastic training tool In conjunction with the PractiScore apps. The unit has a very small learning curve and the batteries (AAA) last quite a long time. Although, 8 + weeks is a long lead time. I waited 6 weeks for mine and was well worth it. But I still have my Pocket Pro II as a back up.
  15. Hope this helps. AR15zero.pdf
  16. They do a good job running matches there. The targets are set up correctly. The Area 6 match is there three weeks earlier.
  17. I feel that the heavier gun actually tracks smoother for me than a lighter whippy gun. I went from a 3.25 lb gun to 4.25 lbs and have much greater stability in my sight picture. I also have removed the comp and replaced it with the heavy thread protector and additionally added 1 oz of lead weight to the front of the stock to balance the gun. Most people who try the guns don't even give the weight a second thought, because being balanced makes them move smoothly. Just my humble opinion...
  18. They just run...Since the Blazer (0021) has come down to .08¢ each again, I would consider them for practice. They have approximately the same ballistics as the MiniMag without the coper plating. They are a bit dirtier, but if you train a lot there is a cost savings.
  19. During a recent PCC load development experiment, a friend and I were surprised to learn how much deviation there can be using mixed brass. I also was looking at the powder and primer batches for a solution, including trying match primers, primer pocket uniforming and flash hole uniforming. The solution for me was to use same head stamp brass. The results went from ES-252 ft/sec with SD-86 to ES-45 ft/sec and SD-14. Very curious to hear how you make out with the other batch of HS-6.
  20. I drilled witness holes in some, and just went with making sure they are all topped off. I make a final check when I am in the hole. And also have found the witness holes on my Glock PCC magazines to be very reliable for round count.
  21. I totally agree, and also have have encountered trouble with the clear magazines more often than the black ones. So I just went back to using all black ones and have had much better operational success.
  22. When this has happened to me on both firearms and other one of a kind pieces equipment where failure is not an option in comparison to great financial expenditure, I like to use left handed drill bits. (Assuming a right handed thread) Most of the time but not always, the screw starts to spin itself out as you progress to a larger size bit. Good luck and let us know how you make out.
  23. I also find that I shoot much better with friends.
  24. I think Glock 26 - 10 round magazines are a good choice. I use some of these in PCCO and they will be much easier to sell later on if you do not need to deal with compliance issues.
