mveto
1st Question - Why? 2nd Question - How? It's an interesting idea, it looks fragile. Don't drop it on a very hard surface.
kneelingatlas
I picked up this ugly duckling off Gunbroker a few years back and could not stand the stumpy beaver tail digging into my hand when I shot it. I originally planned to simply build up a little weld on the back and re shape it, but ended up welding a piece of steel to it; once I shaped it it turned out so nice I couldn't bear to chop any off, so I kept it all! It's pretty tough steel, plus I'm not in the habit of dropping my guns, but thanks for the tip Edited July 30, 2017 by kneelingatlas

NoKimberDave
Having dealt with the stubby beaver on my '75 for years now, I have serious beaver envy. Many times I have thought of reshaping mine and recoating frame.
Bidah
There has got to be quite some story as to what happened on the front of that frame/slide. Wow! I keep looking at these on Gunbroker thinking that I need a fun project gun..
