Bart Solo
I have been reading the show us a picture of your tactical sport and notice that most everybody swaps out the grips on their tactical sport just about as fast as they can. Is there a reason?
CZ85Combat
It makes the grip smaller
kneelingatlas
The factory wood grips have no grip, nor contour, pretty much useless. Not to mention the frame itself is pretty wide, so the wood grips exacerbate the issue. I like the rubber SP01 grips
cpa5oh
I sanded mine flat and thin (used a floor/belt sander) and put grip tape over them...resolves the problem of the gun being too wide and doesn't cost anything.
EngineerEli
Back when I had my TS I took a small triangle file and deepened/sharpened the checkering. Still pretty wide but definitly a noticeable improvement in grip. Still not amazing though.
Garmil
I have medium size hands and like the size and feel of the factory grips myself, I guess I'm in the minority though.

Bart Solo
I just picked up my pistol and think I can live with the wooden grips. I certainly have handled fatter pistols, but maybe thinner would be better. I need to take it to the range to be sure. As advertized the beasty is heavy, which is perfect for my purposes. The trigger is extraordinarily light--lighter than the trigger on my Springfield 1911 after the trigger job. It certainly isn't the gun I would want to use for any purpose other than competition, but it seems to have everything for limited competition out of the box. The guy at the gun store, who I recognized as being one of the better local shooters, said a friend of his has one and it just runs and runs and runs and is scary accurate. Why doesn't everybody use the tactical sport in USPSA limited? I must be missing something. Edited November 24, 2014 by Bart Solo

motosapiens
Why doesn't everybody use the tactical sport in USPSA limited? I must be missing something. Baaaaaaaaaahhhhhh! People are sheep and they want what everyone else has. Also, part of the attraction to pistol shooting for many people is fancy expensive custom guns. for those of us that aren't gifted with kneelingatlas's skill with a hammer and dremel, a $3000 custom gun is the next best thing. zzt
I have small hands so I put on the thin, medium grips CZC sells. Much better.
twowheels
I have pretty big hands and like factory rubbers on my shadows and 75s but I run factory aluminums on my TS.
glockdude1
If you have large hands/fingers, the factory grip is good, except the grip is mediocre.. I went with the thin Aluminum grips and it felt better, but I still did not feel 100% in my grip when drawing from a holster in USPSA matches...I have medium-sized hands/fingers.. I had a gunsmith take the checkering off the front and back straps and I then put on grip tape...front and back Now, I feel 100% and it feels like an extension of my arm
JayDee
Thin AL for me. Medium hands. Added grip tape to the front an back of the grip frame for better traction.
Garmil
I just put on the double alpha sp01 thin aluminum grips on my ts and they actually made it thicker than stock. Not a big problem for me I was more going for the extra traction and a different look. But don't buy these if you are hoping to reduce grip size! akeefer
The wood grips look kinda fake for wood, plus the Aluminum look so much better and thinner.
joepau1k
I replace the grips from factory immediately. I use VZ thins and they are perfect for me. It is a $75 investment but with the price of the gun very small to feel more comfortable.
asimonp79
Well Yes. Both TS I own had wood grips . I shot only 10 rounds and tha was enough - the grips just were too slicky for me. REplaced them with aluminium. Did a grip job, poored some Silicon Carbid on it. Now the grip is GREAT
Bart Solo
Well, I installed a fiber optic front sight from CZ Custom. I am going to try it out tomorrow night. The last big thing needed is the thumb safety. After that it is all optional. Edited December 30, 2014 by Bart Solo
SufferInSilence
The frame on a TS is much wider than normal CZs because it allows for the double stack of the bullets to have a higher capacity so, thin grips help
Bart Solo
The front sight worked fine tonight, but between the 2nd and 3rd stage the rear sight moved. Apparently the screw came loose. When I got home I centered it and tightened the screw. Is the screw coming lose common? I guess I will take the appropriate tools to the range to make sure it is right. Should I use Loctite to tighten it down?
Bunsen
I have large hands and still found the factory grip panels to be a little too large lasted about 1,000 rnds at local matches and practice before switching them out.
