I was looking at the "Top 20 Classification" list on the USPSA website and noticed that Johnny Brister (L1740) just got his GM classification in Single Stack. This gives him a GM classification in all six gun divisions!!! I have listed his classification report below. This has to be a HUGE accomplishment for him

Classification for JOHNNY B - L1740

OPEN Class: GM Current Pct: 96.983 High Percent: 97.563

LIMITED Class: GM Current Pct: 97.671 High Percent: 97.943

LIMITED10 Class: GM Current Pct: 97.641 High Percent: 97.641

PRODUCTION Class: GM Current Pct: 100.000 High Percent: 100.000

REVOLVER Class: GM Current Pct: 99.804 High Percent: 99.804

SINGLESTACK Class: GM Current Pct: 95.747 High Percent: 95.747

I don't even know this guy but I sure would like to meet him some day so I could shake his hand and say "JOB WELL DONE!!!"

Anyone know what pistol he shoots in production?

Having shot with Johnny a number of times, I don't think it makes any difference which gun he uses. He shoots them all very well!!!! and ues he is a truely nice person.

And this guy isn't a pro shooter why?!

A GM Classification does not mean you're at the same level as the best in the sport.

(nothing against John. That's a cool thing he's done)

I think the only way someone should get GM is to get 95% or better at Nationals...but that's a bit off topic.

Well done Johnny! :)

It doesn't? Isn't that the point of the class system?

At any rate, how is it this guy is flying under the radar for so many of us?

How many times have you guys seen a GM shoot 70% of the match winner? I have seen it lots.

I agree totally with TDean.

Cool stuff regardless.

I have shot with/against Johnny many times in local matches and in the Miss. Classic. He is truly a class act. He is in the same category as Jerry Miculek. He will talk to anyone and give you pointers and answer your questions. The first time my daughter shot in the Miss. Classic, I had her squadded with Johnny since I was working as an RO and could not coach her through the match. I spoke with Johnny before the match and told him about this and he was more than glad to keep an eye on her and help her out. I am proud to call him a friend.

By the way, in addition to being a 6 way GM, he is also the only one I know who has won the High Overall and/or the State Champion in the Miss Classic in every division.

The first match I ever shot was with Johnny Brister.

He's a nice guy and great to be around and I'm proud to call him a friend.

Congrats Johnny!
