Stretch16s have Intermediate length gas, not rifle length. A 16" rifle length is not the same.

Carbon Arms did make the direct replacement JP, but we had trouble getting JP nuts in enough quantity and many folks wanted a complete system. When Lancer copied our system, we changed to the Gen2 with a DPMS style nut. Our nut is lighter than the JP nut, so there is a weight savings there as well. If you wanted to make your own, one certainly could. A 2" long aluminum sleeve glued into a 2" OD piece of carbon fiber tube is all you would need. Make sure to use a Diamond bit and drill under liquid so you don't have carbon fiber dust, which is hazardous to your lungs.

I ran the first melonite barrel from SP to 9700 and completely abused ti, never cleaned it and it was the same at 9700 as it was at 50, but Lew made me give it back. I am running just over 6K on mine now. While more accurate than most barrels, it is not quite as accurate as the CK barrels. Melonite is tricky and if there are any blems in the chamber, throat or lands, you can have pressure issues, extraction issues, ets. They can be abused, and run hard and hot for a long time though. They are also more picky on what loads they like. I use the CK barrels for my match rifles. They are more accurate and in general, less picky about what load you run in it. My main match rifle just passed 10K and I can't see any change in group size yet, but I am close. My first one turned the corner at about 12K.

YVK, yes. It goes back to the safety hierarchy, FMEA and common design practices as it relates to products. With Firearms, it is possible that the "sophisticated user" principles may be applied, but that would be user dependant and depend on the venue as well.

There are NO required standards for testing firearms. The ANSI tests are voluntary in terms of use and are NOT purported to be exhaustive. They are but one way to test and will not serve the same type of benefit in court as CFRs or Codes do when their threshold is met.

That is only a small part of the picture. Do you know if the problem becomes more prevalent with wear...or does it stay the same? We see 1911/2011s start to double, or worse with wear of the sear.

Weight. A 2-7 or 3-9 is going to be a lot lighter than a 2-10 or 3-15. I set up my Open rifle with a 1-8 and no side dot, saving me 5 ounces or so, but getting better glass as well. Then I slapped a green laser on it and that covered some bases both systems missed.

When the focus is neutral (as on all scopes with adjustable focus) on the RT6, it is a true 1x. When you change the effective diopter setting by adjusting focus, the mag range will change just slightly.

The Burris RT6 is kicking butt and taking names.

A little more perspective Kurt. The ROs, other than Eric and I, had never shot a match, much less RO'd one. They were LE/MIL guys (and Hunter of course) who were great guys, but not yet ready to run a stage. Interestingly enough, Eric and I were the two ROs that may have been termed "A-Holes". I think the shooter and I who had a run-in worked it out, both just too frustrated and it is now water under the bridge. I hope Eric and Becky can mend a fence as well, but not my deal there. I have confidence that the 2018 match will occur, and be better in many regards. I am friends with most of the CD crew as well, and they will go and do what they do best. Hopefully someone more in line with the modern aspects of the multigun shooting sports will step into the breech and hit it out of the park in 2018. So, in my opinion, this was a one-off match and next year will be a "first" run match at setting up a solid foundation for the future, and one other states should copy.

Well said Kelly! One rule would have fixed many of the "stage" problems...If a competitor skips targets or tasks intentionally and fires their last shot within the 180 second time limit, their time will be 180 plus all applicable penalties. The ROs were a great group of folks, but I RO'd most of them for their first match of this style on Thursday and then they got clocks and stage briefs on Friday. Not their fault. I too liked the stages (especially the way they were supposed to be shot). I think a lot of non-USPSA/3Gun folks have no idea that gaming is part of the game, and in this match, there was some unfortunate collision of inexperienced ROs, and stage designs ripe to be gamed. SOFy, with a USPSA 5 minute walk through. A succinct and polite email to the MD is usually the best way to help a match or organization do better in the future.

Rumor is that Craig O. may have taken a network hacking course specifically to target PS. Craig O. denied that rumor by laughing it off when confronted about it. I think it is now safe to say that rumor is false. So the hottest 3Gunner is not a hacker.

Congrats to Tim Yackley for his overall win. Some of the "older shooters" should look to Tim as a role model of how to be classy and professional at a match.

Well, yes, they made some and some more are coming in. In fact there is supposed to be a large batch going through QC soon. The "new" reticle is not dead, but it won't be out this year, I am hopeful for next year. Encouraging to hear that there are a few new things in process as well.

And then, out of nowhere, I got a few AR1Xs from Burris last week. In plastic wrap, not demos. Not sure what that means, but I will try to find out.

Not even close. The receivers from Stoeger have had some variation in their dimensions. They are working on it to figure out what the problem is. Fact is, an exchange tube, as I explained, would have been the same dimensions. We hold our tolerances tight and thread gauge every tube. You have a receiver that is not within spec. The tube you returned was within spec, and the refund was issued.

The Cerakote builds material which is why Stretch Precision provides gas blocks with their barrels. If you are using someone elses set screw block, you will need to remove the CK at the gasblock journal or ream out the inside of the gas block. With a clamp on block, you will need to use a wedge to open the block a little and then release that when it is all aligned.
