Hello: If you tune a AR9mm it shoots much flatter and faster than the CZ Scorpians I have shot. The only thing that is close to the AR9mm is the Sig MPX which shoots softer but I still don't think it is any faster, just different. Thanks, Eric

Hello: Heavy bolt and a bad trigger. Even with trigger work the bolt slams back pretty hard on these so not that good for kids. Get a Ruger 10/22 for the kids and buy yourself either a AR9mm or Sig MPX would be my choices. Thanks, Eric

Hello: Use a 1/8" punch and push the inner retaining plate up about and inch or so to remove it like other Glock base pads. The retainer is cup shaped so it has to go in further so you can remove the base pad. Thanks, Eric

Hello: For the cost of the bolt catch I would put one it. I am really liking the Strike Industries one. Works great to lock the bolt back when I install the flag. Thanks, Eric

Hello: The old standard C-More railway works very well for me. I have shot a PCC with MRO and thought it was giving me some areas I could not see that well on transitions. Maybe a different mount would have helped. The dot was very clear but it does magnify a little and the green/blue tint I did not like. I have heard that the battery holder is a little fragile. I run a C-More with a 4MOA dot module on my MPX. It is great for indoor matches also. There are lots of good dots out there under the $300 range so you may want to look around to see what suits you the best. Thanks, Eric

Hello: So if you have a 8" barrel and a 16" with the same loads the 8" will be faster? Both barrels are made by the same manufacturer and slug the same. Thanks, Eric

Hello: Either way, as long as they work what is the difference? I still like my QC10 lowers and my Sig MPX. Thanks, Eric

Pistol Skills after PCC ?????
Aircooled6racer replied to sandrooney's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Hello: It is no problem at all if you are shooting a dot on both guns. I am shooting Open and PCC mostly right now. I did kick the dust off my limited pistol that I have not shot in 3 years and did alright at the last match with it. Dots are easier for me to see so going back to iron sights, it surprised me how well I could actually see them. So to answer your question no I think it does not hurt your pistol skill at all. Now shooting a rifle and shooting skeet don't translate very well. Thanks, Eric -
Hello: We have a young guy here who started with a AR15 Hahn insert SBR and a 5.5" barrel. He buildup another 16" for the same lower and he is much better with it. He will be a Master in no time. I think 98% of the time a longer barrel will be better. Super light may not work for everyone in a USPSA pistol match. For steel challenge it maybe another story. Thanks, Eric

Blitzkrieg Hydraulic Buffer question, lots of recoil
Aircooled6racer replied to Gary H.'s topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Hello: I would also try a 308 spring and maybe a 5.2oz buffer. I can test that setup this week. I have some factory loads I can test. I look for two shots at 7-10 yards as quick as I can pull the trigger. A maximum of 4" spread but closer to 2" off hand. The rest is up to the shooter. Thanks, Eric -
Blitzkrieg Hydraulic Buffer question, lots of recoil
Aircooled6racer replied to Gary H.'s topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Hello: Since I have been asked about a cheaper setup than either the Blitzkrieg buffer or the JP tuned buffer setups, here you go. If you are using reloads in the 131-138PF range this should work with your setup. I have tried this with Colt lowers and also Glock lowers. Use a standard bolt with weight installed or a JP bolt. Use a 223 carbine spring, 4.3oz carbine buffer and a New Frontier Armory stop(or make your own). This is to be used in a carbine buffer tube. If you wish you can take out the weight and split pin and try it that way. For me the sweet spot for buffers is in the 4.3-5.2oz range with a bolt around 14ozs. Thanks, Eric -
Hello: If the Sten mags are close to Glock and also Colt SMG mags then look at the Ghost 360 mag pouches. I use them for my Colt mags and also my Glock 33 round mags. I bought three but you really only need two if you use your back pocket for the first mag. Shooters Connection belt with the Arredondo belt keeper and you should have it all for under $100. Thanks, Eric

Blitzkrieg Hydraulic Buffer question, lots of recoil
Aircooled6racer replied to Gary H.'s topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Hello: Check to see if you bullets are hitting the comp. I would also take out the weight in the Spinta bolt and see how that works. Run it very well oiled as well. Thanks, Eric -
Hello: I was riding my skateboard that I built when I was 13 years old. My sons thought I was crazy but I was faster than them. Sometimes you just have to live on the edge. I smoke cigars and drink whiskies also. Thanks, Eric

What is your favorite load for your PCC?
Aircooled6racer replied to MrPostman's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Hello: I am loading my coated 115 grain bullets to 1.125" OAL. They seem to feed just fine and the bullet does not touch the lands. Going to try some HP38/231, Universal Clays, Tite Group and maybe some Unique. Thanks, Eric -
What is your favorite load for your PCC?
Aircooled6racer replied to MrPostman's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Hello: Anyone have a good 135 grain plated bullet load for a Sig MPX? I shot some Freedom 135 reman loads in the MPX and they shot pretty good. The chrono showed a pretty wide spread on these so I want to load my own up. Thanks, Eric -
Hello: Yes I do and I like it! Thanks, Eric

Hello: I am running the 1 tungsten, 3 steel weights with either a black or green spring and 131-138PF loads. No Smalley spring since I don't like the feel of it. I have shot over 5000 rounds with this setup using 115-147grain bullets and Tite Group mostly. It will run 100PF loads as well since I tried some old 115 grain reloads I had for my sons when they were 7-8 years old. If you are running factory loads I would try 2 tungsten and 2 steel weights with the black spring. The springs are all within 5 lbs of each other and are about 1 pound apart from each other. A stock 223 spring is about 13 pounds. Thanks, Eric

Best Trainers for PCC in Southeast or Mid-west
Aircooled6racer replied to biscuit's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Hello: It sounds like your eyes maybe cross dominating. I get this when I shoot skeet on station 1. I lightly squint my left eye to control this since I shoot right handed. It gets worse when I get tired. Practice will solve your problem since you have better eyes than me. Thanks, Eric -
Hello: Sig has them on sale as well. I bought some Gen 1 20 round for $8.99 each and some Gen 1 30 round for $14.99 each. They work great in my Gen 2 MPX. Thanks, Eric

Best Trainers for PCC in Southeast or Mid-west
Aircooled6racer replied to biscuit's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Hello: If you are seeing a blurry dot with your non dominant eye with the dominant eye closed then--sorry to say you don't have perfect vision. Sounds like you have a astigmatism in your left eye vision. I have that and not perfect vision. One thing you can try is not closing your dominant eye all the way closed. Turn the dot down some and practice that. Then try keeping both eyes open. It may take a little time to train your eyes. Hope tho helps. Thanks, Eric -
C-More railway mounts for PCC.
Aircooled6racer replied to Aircooled6racer's topic in Pistol Caliber Carbine
Hello: Here are some pics of the mount installed on some C-Mores. Thanks, Eric -
Nick: Go to Ace Hardware and get some aluminum bar stock. Lowes has some also. 10-32 SHCS the correct length as well. I like the American Defense mount but wish LaRue would make one for the C-More railway. Thanks, Eric
