  1. Hello: I was using the Vortex Viper 6MOA before I sold my 34MOS. It worked well and the battery did not come loose like on the Vortex Venom's I have seen. Thanks, Eric
  2. Hello: The JP buffer setup I use is 3 steel weights and one tungsten weight with the green spring. Much better than the heavy JP setup. The Smalley spring setup with the Blitzkrieg buffer gave the rifle a weird feel and the second shot on fast splits went up to the right and further apart than the straight Blitzkrieg with JP 308 carbine spring. With two people shooting the same setups on the same rifle with one guy watching what the gun is doing tells you a lot. Thanks, Eric
  3. Hello: I shot one today with no weight in the bolt, JP 308 carbine spring and the hydraulic buffer. It shot pretty well with 131PF 124 grain bullet loads. Again I did not like the feel of the Smalley spring and spacer setup. The owner of the PCC did not like it with the extra spring or spacer either. I am not sure if I like this setup or my JP setup? If I had one of these buffers I know I would buy more buffer springs to try to see if it could be made any better. Sprinco offer some different weight springs for AR setups. So I would try it with and without the bolt weight. Thanks, Eric
  4. Nick: Yes and yes. If it is short stroking it could be giving you some bolt bounce causing some feeding issues. Same goes for a super light buffer spring when it slams back causing all sorts of problems. I am liking the longer stroke over the shortened stroke for better dot tracking. Thanks, Eric
  5. Hello: Download your mag you are reloading to. So start with 41 and reload to the other magazine with only 38 rounds and see if it will reload on a closed bolt. My QC10 does. You may also want to get some Magpul 21 round mags or add base pads to your 17 round mags. I would also have 4 mag pouches on your belt. Thanks, Eric
  6. Hello: You may want to check your chrono or powder measure. I am getting 133.3-136.9PF using 3.8 grains of Tite Group, Winchester small pistol primers, 115 Acme at 1.125"OAL out of a Sig MPX with a 8" barrel. Thanks, Eric
  7. Hello: One thing that is not mentioned is that most that are using the Blitzkrieg buffer setup is that they are shooting higher power factor loads. In the 145-150PF range. So your 130-135PF loads may not cycle the heavier setup. Test and tune session will be in session for you. Thanks, Eric
  8. Hello: Does anyone make an extended right side mag release? Thanks, Eric
  9. Hello: And hopefully in your pants! Thanks, Eric
  10. Hello: Funny I shot some major 9mm open gun loads in my old Mech Tech and that thing shot them just fine. I would not want to do that with my AR9mm setup I have now. Thanks, Eric
  11. Hello: Sig have the Gen 1 mags on sale for $14.99 for the 30 round and $8.99 for the 20 round mags. These are working 100% in my Gen 2 but your mileage may vary. Thanks, Eric
  12. Hello: I think the minor scoring is great. It balances things out and makes it more interesting. The other is that I would not want to shoot major 9mm out of a AR9mm blow back gun. A 45 is not bad but a 40 or 10mm would not be pleasant at major loads. Thanks, Eric
  13. Hello: I went the Sig 8" pistol route with a Taccom(no break) 9" extension that I pinned and welded. I have not shot a stock 16" barrel Sig back to back with mine. I have noticed that a little more weight forward actually is faster for me than being very light using 115 grain bullets at 135PF. Mine transitions just great since mine has more of the weight in the stock and receiver. For USPSA pistol matches I am not sold on the ultra light setups. For steel challenge go with the light setup. For 3-gun go with a scope that is 1-3X or more. Thanks, Eric
  14. Hello: Which Colt mags are you using? If the bolt is hitting the magazine then mags or bolt are out of spec. Since the everything else seems correct with the other uppers do some measuring to see what is different. I have used 3 Matrix side charge uppers with Faxon, JP, Matrix and KAW valley bolts and they all have worked. I am using Metalform Colt mags. Thanks, Eric
  15. Hello: Do you reload? Do you like to tinker with stuff to see what it can do? If yes to both of those build your own AR9mm. If not then look at a JP or a Sig MPX. For an optic go with a C-More railway with a 6MOA dot. I have a Sig MPX pistol I built up and also a couple AR9's. Right now I can't say which one is faster for me. I would see if you can shoot both and then make up your mind. Thanks, Eric
  16. Hello: I just bought another 24-3gun. Just as fast as the 24C for me and feels better also. Trigger pull is the same for both after initial break in. Thanks, Eric
  17. Hello: I am using Acme 115's, 3.8 grains of Tite Group, Winchester small pistol primers, 1.125"OAL. It gives me 133-137PF out of a 8" barrel. I am really liking this load for USPSA pistol matches. I will try some 124's next. I don't like the 147's but they are very accurate at 50 yards that I tested them at. I still have not tested the 115's out to 100 yards yet. When I tested bullets before the 124's did better at 100 yards. Thanks, Eric
  18. Hello: Use a quality lower parts kit, Mission First Tactical stock is light and works for most people, muzzle break is just a weight on the end so get one with side ports for sound(or make your own), and hand guard is kinda personal choice to what fits your hand. I like the Matrix ones, small diameter Nordic 22 one and the Taccom carbon fiber one. I like the feel of the smaller diameter hand guards even though I have large hands. Weight is the other concern if you want more weight up front. Another nice option to get is the Odin Works magazine release for the lower you have. I have one on my QC10 Colt and QC10 Glock lowers. Oh and get the JP 4 weight 9mm buffer, no need for the 5 weights at all if you are shooting 9mm. Thanks, Eric
  19. Hello: I have almost the same combo but with Wilson Arms barrel. Been working great for over 3000 rounds. I have them with both a Colt and Glock lowers. Sounds like your upper maybe out of spec with the lower. I have had great success with the cheap Anderson sport uppers, Matrix side charger and the QC10 upper. I have had problems with some other uppers I have tried. Check to see if the ejector is rubbing on the bolt. That will cause all sorts of problems. Thanks, Eric
  20. Hello: Since you are left handed I think I would go the MPX 8" pistol version. Get the 9" Taccom extension(have it pinned and welded), Thordson AR stock adapter, Mil Spec AR15 buffer tube and castle nut, AR stock you like and maybe a grip. Slap a C-More railway on top and you are ready. That is what I did and I am quite happy with it. I have not shot it enough yet to say it is better or worse than an AR9mm. If you want a plug and play than it maybe a better way to go or get a JP. Thanks, Eric
  21. Hello: I am still working on that. If the rifle is too light on the front it does not work as well as when it is a little heavier in the front for me. Overall weight comes into play also but if you can move the rifle around quickly enough for the stage there is no problem. I look at the PCC more like a shotgun than a pistol. If it swings too quick it is more of a problem than if it swings a little slower and flatter. This is for USPSA pistol matches. Steel Challenge would be as light as possible in the front and overall. Thanks, Eric
  22. Hello: I am using a JP bolts in a couple of PCC's with the JP buffers. Thanks, Eric
  23. Hello: That looks like a JP firing pin and I broke one of those early on. The replacement is going strong still. Thanks, Eric
  24. Hello: Having started with a Mech Tech Glock 9mm many years ago and doing well with it, then building a couple of AR9mm with Colt and Glock mags. Now I have a built out Sig MPX 8" pistol with Taccom 9" welded extension. I can tell you that I have also shot some other really cool PCC's as well like a MP5 clone, Vector and a CZ. The Sig will cost you more than the rest. Is it better? I have not shot it enough yet to really say one way or the other. The Sig will cost about $500-$1000 more than a pretty good AR9mm home built with top shelf parts. The Sig shoots pretty soft but my splits are about the same as the AR9mm, same trigger in both. I am still playing with weight on the Sig and have the AR9mm figured out for me. Loads for each are different. The Sig seems to like lighter bullets going a little faster, where the AR9 likes heavier bullets going slower. The buffer and bolt setup on the AR9 are important if you want it to shoot flat. The Sig I have not tried any other springs yet so I won't know till that happens. Now for the short barrel SBR setup. I don't have a SBR but I shoot with a young guy who does. He just built up a 16" barrel upper for that lower and is doing better with it than the 4 1/2" barrel. I do see an advantage if the courses of fire are really tight where the SBR would be better but maybe not that much better. We have some really good PCC shooters here who seem to do really well with there 16" barreled guns. Here is a pic of one of my Sig MPX setups with the long hand guard. I also have the original 8" and a 10" as well. I will be testing all three later this week. Thanks, Eric
  25. Hello: The softest one I have tried so far in a 8" MPX is 122 grain Acme, 3.1 grain Tite Group, CCI primers and 1.140" OAL. It chronoed 116.9-124.1PF. It ran 100% but the bullet was slightly touching the lands. Thanks, Eric
