  1. Last week I had a package left at the garage door. I checked the name and address and it was not even the correct address. I did a search for the address and it was in the next subdivision. Being the guy my parents raised me as, I delivered it to them and told them it was delivered to me in the next subdivision and they should tell their postal carrier about it since they may not be the ones that deliver packages. Your postal person may not be the one delivering packages, they may just deliver your mail so let them know. Thanks, Eric
  2. Hello, I hate when they say a package was delivered and it has not been delivered to your address. Happened today for a part I was waiting for that was shipped 3 day last Monday. I don't know where it is. Although they will send you 6 requests for absentee ballets? Thanks, Eric
  3. Hello: Comp is not fitted to the slide correctly. Check to see if it is hitting the end of the slide. Also make sure the comp is in line with the barrel bore. The bullet could be hitting the comp. Lastly make sure the lockup is correct as well. Thanks, Eric
  4. Hello: Don't forget when you add all those holes you will loose velocity, just like using a shorter barrel. So you will need more powder to make major causing more recoil in the hand. I am not sure on the claim about muzzle flip but I am guessing you will soon find out. Thank's Eric
  5. Hello: The largest port should be in the first position. I have played around with comps for a couple of years and this is what I have found works best. The angle of the ports is something to consider as well. The gas slots you have shown will work but will not be as good as a dedicated comp with larger surfaces to direct the gas. Good luck on your build. Thanks, Eric
  6. Hello: I will add that the Gen 5 G17 has a 4.5lb striker spring as well. Not my pistol so I had to ask what the striker spring was in the kit. Lastly make sure they are not limp wristing it. Thanks, Eric
  7. Hello: You are shooting 115PF loads so the 11lb recoil spring will be fine. Winchester white box I chronoed years ago was 147PF out of a Glock 17 gen2. I shot a Glock 17 Gen 5 the other day with a 11lb recoil spring with 135Pf loads and it shot great, very flat shooting. Thanks, Eric
  8. Hello: when my son was 8 we had some issues with a Glock 34 that would not cycle sub minor loads. I ended up with 136PF loads with 115's for him. I used a 13lb ISMI recoil spring in a Gen 3. On the Gen 5 G17 try a 11lb ISMI recoil spring and see how that goes. Use a lighter striker spring as well. My load was 4.1gr Tite Group, 115 plated bullets, 1.140" OAL and Federal primers. The kids can handle the recoil just fine if they grip it and rip it. Thanks, Eric
  9. Hello: The old Bo-Mar Glock rear sight used to overhang the rear of the slide. I don't see a problem with that but it would be a problem if it overhangs the MOS plate. Thanks, Eric
  10. Hello: It is a Limcat Aluminum magwell with the steel insert. I also have a Brass one with the steel insert as well. Not sure which one I like the weight of yet. With a steel mainspring housing it comes very close to the weight of a metal grip setup. Thanks, Eric
  11. Hello: when you put it in a vise make sure you use pieces of soft metal on either side of the racker to protect the finish. Most bench vises have serrations that will tear up the racker. You can use aluminum or a piece of copper pipe. Thanks, Eric
  12. Hello: If you don't like a "U" notch or one that is not wide enough you can have someone mill the notch to the size and shape you like. Reblue it and you are good. If you are good with a file you can do the job yourself. Thanks, Eric
  13. Hello: the Jager large diameter guide rod will be a very good choice. Get some Wolff recoil springs so you can tune to your load. Thanks, Eric
  14. Hello: Heat it up and bend it. I think the ape hanger is just a Brazos racker for sideways mounts that is bent up. Thanks, Eric
  15. Hello: I would try a 13lb ISMI recoil spring on a steel or stainless steel guide rod. Another option would be a 12lb Wolff spring since they are a little stiffer than their advertised weight. I have used ISMI, Lone Wolf, Wolff and Jager guide rods. I like the captured ones since it makes it easier to tear the top end down and install the guide rod setup after cleaning. My gen 5 guide rod is a Jager captured that uses Wolff springs but I have not used it yet since I am waiting on the Glock 17 still. Thanks, Eric
  16. Hello: A 6" pistol has to be built correctly with the slide weight in the correct place. Take the weight out of the front and spring it correctly it is a pretty sweet pistol to shoot. Bushing barrel or a lightened bull barrel helps with the swing effect. I also like using lighter bullets as well in the 165-180 range. Take a look at some of the "Fat Free" Benny makes at Triangle Shooting Sports. Thanks, Eric
  17. Hello, I like the Dawson sights. Black rear sight and a fiber front sight. For home use get a flashlight and a laser. I like laser mounted on the pistol and a hand held flashlight. Or just use a flashlight mounted on the pistol and no laser. It will depend alot on what you like. Whatever you choose make sure you train with it. Current trend is a red dot mounted on the slide and a flashlight mounted on the pistol. It maybe the best option that I have not tried yet. Thanks, Eric
  18. Hello: It will depend on how bad your eyes are and if you are near or far sighted. Also the 6" pistol will have to be built correctly so it does not feel like a heavy slow pistol. Take a look at Triangle Shooting sports Fat Free models that Benny builds. Thanks, Eric
  19. Hello: I just bought one of these from Shooters Connection. It works great with the original STI plastic grip and the PT Evo grip. The locking lever can easily be unlocked on your draw. I have tried it a couple of times during a match and also with a seated draw. So far it is the best holster I have tried for a smooth draw. The 014 is a close second. Thanks, Eric
  20. Hello: I would just use a stock polished trigger setup first to see how you like shooting open. Not sure if you are going to shoot open major or minor? If you are going to shoot major just keep checking the rails every time you clean it. They will come loose over time at around 20,000-30,000 major rounds or so in a stock Glock. I am not sure on your P80 setup how long that will last? Have fun with your project. Thanks, Eric
  21. Hello: Since you don't have a Gen 3 then get the Gen 5 MOS Glock 17. I have one coming so I can test a couple of different dots for carry optics to see what works best for me. The problems I have seen with the Glock MOS plates is that people over torque them to the slide stressing the screws. I had a Gen 4 Glock 34MOS and preferred the Gen 3 17 slide on it more than the 34 length slide. If it is a house pistol I would also consider a Glock Gen 5 G45 MOS. Thanks, Eric
  22. Hello: If you already have a gen 3 why not get another slide with an RMR cut already? Change the parts over from the original slide and you are ready for Carry Optics. Use the original slide for Production or limited minor. There are better optics out there that fit the rmr cut also. Thanks, Eric
  23. Hello: You guys are killing me. I'll have to save up to get one of these next year to try. Thanks, Eric
  24. Hello: The Shooters Connection sleeve works great. Thanks, Eric
  25. Hello: The Dawson plain black rear adjustable sight works great. If you are using various bullet weights and power factors you can adjust it perfectly. I use fixed sights and also the adjustable Dawson as well. Thanks, Eric
