  1. Re: DNROI It seems to me this train of thought has possible unintended consequences. The next time a shooter fires a shot on the draw that hits 12 feet from them, can I DQ the shooter because I judge that their intent was not to shoot into the ground where no target was available? Maybe transitioning from one array to another, without movement, and fires a shot between the arrays where no target was available. Can I DQ the shooter because I judged their intent was not to fire a round where no targets were available? If not, why not, if I am allowed to judge intent?
  2. The current rule provides a particular set of metrics to make this call. If the "if clear ...." command has not been given a shot fired farther than 10 feet from the shooter, or in some unsafe direction is not a DQ offense, IMO. Action compared to metric of rulebook has been and is sufficient. Subjectivity not necessary.
  3. Hmmm. Course designer intent means nothing, but shooters intent means everything. Neither of which can be subjectively known.
  4. Steel must fall to score. If it has fallen it is scored and therefore not available foe engagement.
  5. Congratulations. I think it is very possible PCC will become one of if not the most popular Divisions USPSA offers.
  6. I've been down this rabbit trail a few years ago. IMO, until the "if clear......" command is given the shooter may resume shooting at their will. The only issue is farther than 10 feet and safe direction.
  7. How do you know his hand slipped? Maybe he just changed his mind about unloading.
  8. Hmmm. New market for noise enhancement devices.
  9. The reason the start command was changed from "load and make ready" to simply "make ready" was to address this specific issue. An RO should never let a shooter start in the wrong position deliberately and then attempt to penalize the shooter. This is not a got ya sport. Mistaken start position demands a re-shoot not a penalty.
  10. I ran a PCC shooter Saturday night who was one point down in 2.24. 16.9 HF
  11. I give the MR command as soon as the shooter gets to the start position and the range is clear. I do this for a couple of reasons. One is time management, and the other is it allows the shooter to handle the gun without any misunderstanding of communication. Keeps the shooter from drawing prematurely because they thought they heard something.
  12. Ok after much thought and consideration, I've reached the conclusion you might be able to assess a failure to reload penalty (procedural) for not reloading after the 6th round. This still gives me some concern because the WSB did not say reload between shot 6 and 7. It's implied, but not clearly stated. You might just say no harm, no foul, which also gives me some concern.
  13. Well I see that (now) but I am at a loss to know what other rules apply. The sub-section seems to run contrary to the superior rule. Oh well, back to school I guess .
  14. You can't be penalized for firing too few shots procedurally. The shooter screwed up on the first pass, therefore one procedural for not following the course description.
  15. I hear the door to the NROI woodshed is open just waiting on a new occupant.
  16. Robert is an A number 1 guy. Best wishes my friend.
  17. Thanks to all of you. Today is my sons birthday (38) we went rifle shooting and had a great day. Time is a very valuable commodity.
  18. You might consider Carry Optics as it can be the answer for tired eyes.
  19. Since one division has zero effect on another, where is the problem whatever PCC does?
  20. IMO, if the WSB only says mags on table, as long as the mag isn't inside or physically touching the gun it is good to go. Some visible space would be required.
  21. Slide rackers that are attached to the gun before the first shot and remain attached to the gun throughout the match are ok. That question was settled a while ago.
