  1. Insulting your fellow shooters for their choice of divisions rarely produces positive results, IMO.
  2. Probably hard to tell. I created Single Stack to draw shooters from CDP and ESP. Production is a pretty easy crossover as is L-10. I firmly believe it hurt us for some period of time. As USPSA became more flexible it seemed to help pull some IDPA shooters away. if you look at IDPA rules and divisions they are a lot like USPSA.
  3. If it is a recognized USPSA division it must operate ate under our rulebook. If here was this big cry for IPSC divisions, rules, and equipment you would see IPSC matches every weekend. People flocking to give their money to shoot. There doesn't seemto be much demand.
  4. Having been on the BOD at the time all of this was taking place, I have a different perspective. IDPA came about because USPSA was inflexible and not far sighted in discussions with those who later on founded IDPA. This created another shooting sport, which may not be bad, but also pulled shooters from USPSA. We we had information that if we pulled totally out of IPSC that another shooting sport would be created, call it IPSC USA, perhaps. We were concerned this would further dilute our shooter base and not be healthy for our sport. The solution was to do what we did. I would note any club can hold an IPSC match with their rules anytime they wish. Simply call it an IPSC match and carry on.
  5. The one thing I am prohibited from telling the competitor is that they have failed to put a magazine in the gun. Not a safety issue though.
  6. Despite opinions to the contrary, your only human?
  7. I'm a book guy. If one disagrees with the book, work to have it changed. Until then, I'll go by the book.
  8. I give warnings when the issue is close, but not enough for me to be sure of the infraction. Once I am sure enough then I make the call. i don't subscribe to allowing a shooter to DQ if I can prevent it.
  9. Did your RM show you in the rules where he was right? One can guess that because you were not DQ'd he was wrong.
  10. I've been shooting PCC all year. When I am up, and scoring is being completed, I retrieve the flagged PCC from the cart, proceed to the start position carrying the PCC vertical, and simply stand there with the muzzle vertical. Upon MR I complete the process. Saves time, no muss or fuss. When finished I flag and carry the flagged PCC vertically directly back to the cart. i haven't had a single negative comment. I think much much of this is unnecessary angst over PCC, or a few shooters who need to get their act together.
  11. Words mean things. It is possible a shooter will DQ, just like it is possible ( fill in the blank). To give the impression that, like death and taxes, it is inevitable and unavoidable is simply wrong.
  12. So every shooter that has, is now or will shoot USPSA will DQ at some time? Really?
  13. My question was directed to how IPSC arrived at that number.
  14. Does anyone know how the 15 round number was decided upon?
  15. A great big thanks to Sarge and all his staff for putting on a very challenging Buckeye Blast. The RO crew worked their butts off in shall we say exceedingly warm weather. No, it was darn hot, exceedingly warm won't get it. A special thanks to my friends who helped get me through the match. ?
  16. When I was shooting CO I used the Co-witnessed sights a lot. I drew to the sights, and if it was a close target I would just use them. My dot sat right on top of the FS. Rule says you have to have the optic, not use it?
  17. I thought the trigger was both internal and external, but I might be wrong. My purpose was to pass on clarification of a rule, not to get into what this has spun into.
  18. 21.1 last bullet point deals with external appearance.
  19. I noted an apparent contradiction in the new Production rule. 21.1 says that any modification that changes the external appearance, unless specifically authorized by plain language is prohibited. 21.6 authorizes the changing of triggers, but does not address the external appearance issue. Some triggers change the external appearance of the gun. I have it it straight from the head shed that the trigger change is ok even if it changes the external appearance of the gun.
  20. Semantics. Shooter threw gun 20 yards or so down range. Resulted among other things, expulsion from USPSA. Dropped gun to the 10th power.
  21. If your mag was empty then the RO falls into the category of a little knowledge is a dangerous thing.
