Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Placed order 7/7/20 Got shipping notice today, hang in there. Blue bullets are filling their orders.
  2. At a local match , enforcing the safety rules is the first priority. I know of only 1 person at local matches that even cares if the equipment rules are followed to the letter. read , Range na***. If a shooter shows up with a black , square looking gun and says i'm shooting production , I believe him . Don't know one glock from another and don't care to learn. this discussion is getting real old after hearing it in one form or another for 25 years. Offer advice if you think a set up is wrong , make sure your crap is correct. and shoot the match. I'm not taking the RO test this year, and not renewing my membership as uspsa has become a organization that is US ( management ) vs them (shooters). and really does not care what the members want .
  3. I completely agree and IF the RO wanted to give me a penalty , I'd take without argument , this is one of many rules that needs to be applied with a little common sense.
  4. I had a similar question today . Stage had multiple hidden targets, while scoring 1 had 4 hits and 1 had none, shooter gets 2 mikes. Does he also get 1 ftsa. There were enough shots, hits in the wrong place, Simple mikes, or added penalty .
  5. My first Open Gun was built in 95, I still use it. The only things that are from the original gun however are the STI frame, beaver tail and Magwell . Every thing else has replaced , most parts more than once. Slides go 50K to 90K ,
  6. Found out thru the holidays that one of our problem shooters, that was difficult for the timer to pick up the shots , may have had only a 115 PF, maybe less, seems the problem has now been self corrected.
  7. Guys, Thanks for the input. I will try a number of the suggestions . Shot a match Sun and had 3 PCC shooters in the squad, and no problems at all . The timer was worked in the normal manner, near the right shoulder of the shooter. The really quiet guns were not there and next time they are, we get as close as we can, with the understanding that without getting the last shot it will be a reshoot I still don't want to get close enough to be in the peripheral vison, and get hit with the brass. Getting hit with the brass is not fun, but getting hot brass in your shirt hurts. Maybe part of the problem is that I still want to treat the PCC shooters the same as everyone else, and that might not work for them all.
  8. At some recent matches we had to give some pcc shooters reshoots because the timer did not pick up a single shot, 000 on the timer. Linear comps and mouse fart loads are part of the problem , but new battery's, reset the timer to highest sensitivity and still if you hold the timer at the shooters shoulder it does not register. To get the timer to pick up shots you had to hold it almost out to the ejection port. My solution at the match was to let pcc shooters RO each other , because I got tired of ducking brass. What are other people doing? and are you having the same problems.
  9. Nothing in the rules about DQ for that at most . 4.1 All firearms used by participants must be serviceable and safe. Event Officials may inspect a participant’s firearms at any time to check they are functioning safely. If a firearm is declared unserviceable or unsafe by an Event Official, it must be withdrawn from the event until it is repaired to the satisfaction of the Range Master. RM had the ability to make up rules as necessary , maybe this was one.
  10. Every 250,000 or so a link arm has cracked like that. I've had it happen twice . Dillon replaced them with no problems. I'd have gladly paid for them , but no charge . Best piece of equipment I ever bought.
  11. Extractor spring was from my collection of extra power ar 15 extractor springs, Firing pin spring was from Ace Hardware, Handyman spring, SP-9722, 7/32 x1 3/8 x .028, trimmed to 0.570 .
  12. Never broke a firing pin but I think its because I replaced both springs in my NF bolt, because the firing pin spring kept breaking off pieces to weak and the extractor spring would not hold anything, Gun started to run. Turned down the shoulder on the firing pin to fit the new spring and now have 2000 rounds thru it .
