    Shadow 2 sights

Get a box cutter and cut the fiber in the middle then pull it out. Or, you can go to Dawson Precision’s website and check out their videos in replacing the fiber. You can also buy the green fiber from them. There’s no need for you to buy a new sight, you just need the fiber which is very cheap. They’re sold in amazon too.just make sure it’s the same diameter as the old one.
  2. Between the coated bullets I have used (blue, acme, precision, BBI), acme was the most accurate on my shadow 2 and TSO. I was loading it with 4.1 Gr of Winchester 231 @1.102” OAL. However, I have since switched over to RMR 124 Gr truncated cone flat points and they’re as accurate as the acme on my guns.
  3. By the way, the CM upper also fits into the TSO lower without any problems at all. Same with the TSO upper fitting nicely into the CM lower. The only minor difference between the two is the front of the trigger guard. The CM trigger guard has a thinner front profile compared to the TSO which makes it wobble more when inserted into a race master holster. Top and side mount clearance
  4. That would be a correct since there’s nothing different between the frame of my TSO and this czechmate. The checkerings are exactly the same. Both uses the same grips and exactly the same magwell.
  5. Yup. Using a vise makes it a lot easier in removing and reinstall action of the pin. Good to hear you got it out.
  6. Just got back from picking up a czechmate earlier from the LGS. First thing I did was to install the slide ride into my TSO to check for clearance since my friends older czechmate slideride mount didn’t clear my TSO before. Guess what, it fits nicely and clears the TSO slide. I don’t have my friends old czechmate or slide ride on hand for comparison but somehow, CZ modified something, I.e. either the slide top or slide ride mount. The TSO multi optic mount I bought from CZ Custom that’s currently mounted on my TSO also fits and clears the czechmate slide. So both mounts are interchangeable. pictures. This Czechmate also has the same front checkering like the TSO.
  7. Use a starter punch. If you have a vise, utilize that to make the removal a lot easier. Good luck.

    P320 X5 Thread

It’s easy. It’s like installing a regular 1911 guide rod and recoil spring.
  9. I had my Radio frequency surgery for my lower back last Thursday and shot yesterday. I didn’t do well but I had a lot of fun. I hardly felt any pain during the match due to adrenaline rush but once I got home, that’s a different story. Good luck and have fun.
  10. I also have a bad back. My spine doctor gave me a lumbar support with a flexible and hard(kydex) brace insert. When I shoot, I use the support with the flexible insert. I put my inner shirt first, back support, long sleeve shooting shirt tucked in, then my inner and outer belts. It limits my mobility, I.e running and bending over but I make do of what I am able to do within my limitations. It slows me down but it’s a lot better than not being able to shoot or do things I love doing. I have a lot of fun just being out in the range shooting in a Match with friends. Ask your doctor for one so you can use it while you’re shooting. Your insurance will pay for it too. mine looks like this but has the flexible and hard insert. Lumbar support
  11. I agree. St Augustine is a nice place to live. Even Greta place to shoot USPSA sanctioned matches. It has two local clubs holding matches once a month and another club about 45 minutes away. So you have three club matches a month for a start. We need more gun loving New Yorkers down here instead of those libs ?.
  12. Yes. I spray a little bit of dry graphite lubricant.
  13. I’m using 1/3 scale targets since I use them also for my production rig.
  14. When was the last time you took it apart for cleaning? If you haven’t cleaned it for awhile, I recommend doing it and start from there. I usually do that every six months. It’s surprising how much crud gets in there after that time. Good luck.

    P320 X5 Thread

Im using springer precision guide rod and Wilson combat 10# recoil spring on my X5. However, my reloads are only 128-130 PF. Make sure your choice of spring weight matches with the PF of the ammo you’re going to use.i have tried 10-15# springs from my 1911’s and found that the 10# gave me the least felt recoil when shooting my reloads.
  16. There is a set screw on the bolt. Make sure the setscrew that locks the bolt in place is tight so the bolt stays in place and doesn’t rotate and tighten up while you’re indexing it.
  17. St. Augustine has Ancient City shooting range and Fraternal Order of police shooting range. Ancient city hosts a uspsa match every last Saturday of the month, two gun every last Sunday of the month while FOP hosts one Uspsa Match every third Saturday of the month. SEPSA at Fernandina beach hosts a USPSA Match every second Saturday of the month. Ancient city range also hosts IDPA, steel challenge and other shooting matches. There is also Gateway rifle and pistol club which hosts NRA bullseye shooting, long range rifle, cowboy, steel challenge and other shooting stuff. You will find a variety of shooting activities every weekend within a radius of 30-50 from St Augustine. Plus, St. Augustine is a very nice place to live. Pm me if you have any other questions. I’ll be glad to answer any questions.
  18. Which CZC comp hammer did you install?
  19. For me, any trigger time is a good thing only if I’m applying and learning things the correct way. Even though matches are not considered practice, I still learn a lot by watching and observing other shooters breakdown and shoot their stages. I also ask them questions and they had been very helpful and accommodating. Heck, I still won’t forget my first ever match wherein I was Dq’ed for breaking the 180. In between stages, I pull out my phone and write down the tips and answers I got from the better shooters in my squad so I can implement them in my practice regiment. Once i I get home, I try them out in Dry Fire and see what difference it makes in improving my shooting abilities. It’s very beneficial for me to be in a squad of very good shooters. There’s a wealth of information and talent to pick from to improve my own. Aside from that, the camaraderie and brotherhood that goes along with it is priceless.
  20. And we just have a new response five years later..........?
  21. Yup, Jayson made the modification on the shadow 2 grips by removing the flare at the top portion. When I ordered a pair of grips for my shadow 2 a few months ago, he wasn’t making the shadow 2 specific grips yet so I had to remove the flare by sanding it using my belt sander. Other than that, I like the grippiness of the grips. I’ll be ordering a set of shadow 2 specific grips and another set for my TSO. I’ll get the checkered style this time around.
  22. It’s a bit heavy but once I got used to it, it was negligible. I actually like the heft because it helps in reducing felt recoil. I really don’t have to make a lot of adjustment since the other gun I shoot a lot aside from the Shadow 2 is my TSO which is a little bit heavier.
