  1. They probably got a deal on them from CZ. My guess is they aren't selling as many as they thought they would in that color. You can actually find them in black for less than that on gunbroker if you are patient.
  2. Pull weight isn't everything. Mine is under 2lbs with a 11.5 main spring and the full cajun kit. A massaged TS would blow ANY shadow out of the water, however, I would bet my shadow 2 single action is on par with most out of the box TS.
  3. IMO if you are going to spend t2 money, I would suggest a Vortex AMG UH-1 or Leupold LCO. Slightly heavier, but worth it for sight picture. Plus the weight is somewhere where it doesn't make much difference in handling.
  4. I would be willing to bet the accuracy is probably pretty close. That being said the accuracy argument is moot. Both guns are more than accurate enough for USPSA. Stoeger just won worlds with a tanfo. The triggers are going to be similar with work. I would see if you can get your hands on a shadow 2 and see if you like the grip profile, I really like mine (with palmswell VZ grips, stock grips were too thin/not grippy enough for me). I had a stock II xtreme a long while back and recently picked up a shadow 2 which I like more personally. I have the full cajun gun works package installed in mine, and the trigger is insane. I will say that I didn't go too far down the rabbit hole modifying the trigger on my stock 2, so its not really a fair comparison. IMO options are stock II with all the PD parts (springs, sear, titan hammer, bolo disconnector etc), shadow 2 with 11.5 mainspring, 13lb recoil spring and firing pin upgrade (more than good enough), or all out shadow 2 (cajun kit). You can't go wrong with any of them, they are all capable of winning nationals in the right hands.
  5. Unless I'm missing something those graphs are showing the same curve. The paper just goes further out....
  6. If you reload any kind of volume I'd suggest splurging and getting a Redding micrometer seating due - just twist the knob to adjust seating depth. And the FCD. You will thank yourself later and wonder why you didn't start with it in the first place.
  7. Taccom https://taccom3g.com/product/taccom-magazine-funnel/
  8. Make sure you order the ramped barrel and their bolt carrier group. It will greatly reduce the chance of you having FTFs.
  9. Taccom Magwell, makes a huge difference or classifiers or panic reloads ($30). I would suggest a hyperfine 24c/ecl over the timney. At least 1 +10 extension to let you start with 40 rounds. I would also recommend the taccom 3g carbon fiber handgaurd - $90 and much lighter than the troy. Also, if you aren't going to use a compensator, I would suggest the taccom ramped barrel and taccom bolt.
  10. Getting a clamped tool head helped with OAL variation, but as previously stated: Full shell plate vs partially empty will have effects on OAL . Also mixed brass and bullet consistency have effects on OAL. If you are only getting .005 extreme spread on mixed brass I wouldn't sweat it, just make sure that the highest end will still fit your barrel.
  11. I prefer the bulldog cases personally. Work great for PCC and ARs. Has a folding velcro'd strap that goes over one end so its a no-brainer to get your rifle in the same way every time. Can find a 3rd party retailer (cheaper) for the case - https://www.bulldogcases.com/product/extreme-rectangle-discreet-assault-rifle-case/ I prefer 45 inch. If you don't mind a JP logo, same case - http://www.jprifles.com/buy.php?item=BD470-45
  12. I can see having an actual person look over your first NFA purchase. After that, I'm not sure why they don't just do an updated background check (done in minutes) and mail you a stamp. It's not like anything changed.
  13. I would buy 2 suppressors tomorrow if the tax stamp went away (.223 OSS suppressor and a 9mm). However, not willing to tie up funds and wait 5-6 months for another toy right now. I have a 308 can, a 45 can, and a 22 can. More than enough for now. I'll wait until times come down to 2-3 months or until the HPA passes (which will never happen).
  14. From what I've read, some checks cashed in February are turning up now. Time is going down as well. I'm hoping to get mine at the 4-5 month mark But I have some time to go.
  15. Thank god the shadow 2 has good checkering. I might be tempted!

    CJ Maven Review

As Rowdy posted, CJ was looking for work. Had him install a Cajun kit on my Shadow 2. Response time was phenomenal. Answered questions promptly. My shadow 2 was with him for only a week. Trigger is fantastic. Everyone who has a played with it so far agrees. I haven't had a chance to borrow my buddies trigger pull gauge, but CJ said it was 5 7/8lb DA/2lb single. My finger believes it. Would highly recommend him for any CZ work. Very fast turn around time and great customer service.
  17. MPX 133 PF at area 3 1.140 124gr PD JHP 3.9 titegroup exact same load at 1.095 to fit my Shadow 2s short chamber makes 132PF out of the Shadow. So I just adjust my Redding micrometer seating die to switch between production and PCC loads.
  18. The blade-tech is the same one marketed by SIG. It has fantastic retention. Wouldn't even consider anything else.
  19. I'm using an ACS-L currently, but might switch to something lighter when my tax stamp comes back.
  20. Shot this today. Thought I tanked it pretty bad compared to the bill drills I've run in practice and the bad reload. PCC - 6.3 seconds, 82 points (4 C's), 13.015 HF.
  21. RDS > Variable (for USPSA - depending on the match for 3gun you could make a case for variable) Dot size- Why not have both big and small? (read below) Full body>micro - I prefer a larger window, I like the heads up view and forgiveness in head position for those shots that put you in awkward positions. I know you don't mean this to be a "personal favorite" thread. However, the Vortex AMG UH-1 is my optic of choice. Eotech style reticle is super fast acquisition. Has a nice little triangle at the bottom of the circle for upclose targets (5 yds and in) and has a precise point of aim for long range shots. A little heavier than some options, but it is added to a point on the gun that doesn't make much difference for me vs a lighter optic.
  22. That is true the RM can make rules as he goes, that is not the matter in question. He has the discretion to do as he pleases. The problem I see with this particular case is that he was DQ'd because his gun CAN bumpfire - AKA unsafe equipment - in that case most blowback PCC's are by definition unsafe. There isn't an equipment problem, the trigger works as intended - one trigger press, one shot. If the problem was him physically bump-firing, the warning should have been - "bump firing is not allowed, stop now". Then when he did it, it should have been a DQ for the action. Not "lets see if I can bumpfire your PCC." And then DQ'ing for unsafe equipment. **I would be willing to bet most of the top competitors shooting AR-9's could have their weapons induced to bump fire, Leograndis has specifically set his up to be able to do this, so it is obviously easier to induce, but it still doesn't equate to unsafe equipment as I see it** ***On a side note, this match looked like a blast and I am intending to try and make it next year. I have no horse in the bump-fire race as my current platform can't bumpfire. It is however an interesting issue to talk about :). Looked like a fantastic match, and it looks like it has a great future in the years to come***
