  1. +1 Seems like a good option to me, too. Get em while you can.
  2. Impressive. Nice to see that. 3Gun practice/training can really help actors action sequences when filming. Not to mention...it is damn fun! Now I know why I enjoyed the 'John Wick' movie so much. The CQB action was great!

    OAL for TS .40

True it will be shorter than say STI, but you should measure to see exactly what your chamber is. My guess is that you could likely go out to 1.150 +/- some, but you will need to check. Take the barrel off and drop a BBI180 down into it and measure the distance from the base of the bullet to flush with the barrel hood, add in the length of the bullet from where it touches the throat. This will determine absolute max COL for your barrel WITH THIS BULLET. You will absolutely need to load shorter than this figure by at least .01, and perhaps more. You may also need to adjust for your magazines. So, once you determine a workable COL load do a test loading of the magazines to ensure proper feeding before you start running ammo.
  4. You should see an increase in velocity (~50-75fps) using coated with the same charge weights. Chrono and adjust accordingly.
  5. I agree with all these sentiments. Sadly, the shows are not what they used to be. The pricing on all thing firearms related is insane. I gave up on gun shows.
  6. Welcome to you Zach! Good luck to you this year, at Nordic as well as at matches.
  7. U-die (EGW actually) here....they work well. Really helps with mixed brass.
  8. LEE manufactures them for EGW to EGW specs (EGW .001 under std). There are slight differences (LEE branded .002 - .003 under) . Helps to maintain good neck tension using range brass with inconsistent case thickness. Go with EGW. I am sure LEE branded work fine too, but .003 it is a bit much. I use EGW in 40S&W and 9mm.
  9. Welcome to the forum, Turbopower! .
  10. Sounds like you have plenty to contribute. Glad to have you here. Welcome to the forum, Bigfelipe!
  11. Welcome to the forum, Nate! Good luck this year.
  12. What actual OAL? What RN bullet? Seating die?
  13. What Joe suggests (pictured) works great. Yup, that's it. A stiff bristle nylon cleaning brush works okay in a pinch, too. Just go easy. Lose the debris, not the grit.

    Glenn Frey

Bowie? Now Glenn Frey? Geez. Sad to hear the news he passed away today. Frey was a great. The Eagles...awesome.
  15. Using the regular sizing die first, then using the Lee or EGW U-die next in line. You don't have to do it this way, but it works better. The other cheap possible remedy is to run all the ammo that fails the chamber checker through a Lee FCD.
  16. I heard about his passing early this morning. Very sad news. David was an awesome talent. I enjoyed his multi faceted career and grew up listening to his music. The guy was very interesting.
  17. No one messes with da Peaky Blinders. Really enjoyed it. Hooked! Blew through both seasons already. Now we wait for more.
  18. Welcome to the forums, Tom! You sure aren't the only one to shoot the chrono.
  19. Was intrigued by Peaky Blinders. Thanks for the recommendation. Will start watching. Good show with good characters. Watch it. It did enter into formulaic territory in the last aired season, but it is still enjoyable. Merry Christmas folks!
  20. Separate processes is the way, especially for coated.
  21. Calcite? I wouldn't want to use it. With a high energy round like 300AAC...??? Probably best avoided. Thanks for the info.
  22. Been shooting Hi-Tek coated from various manufacturers in multiple guns for years...no issues. The two main coatings used are polyurethane (Hi-Tek) and commercially available powder coatings (polyester...mostly) both of which are much much softer than any barrel material. Sounds like a friend of a friend said.... Find out what the actual "coating" in question actually is. If the individual ever cleans his gun. Or can accurately measure.
  23. You have a pretty stable temperature year round (unlike some of us) but you may want to consider +0.2gr as a buffer. It messes with your time and your head to have a stoppage during an event. Aaaand if it is your wife!? You are in the doghouse buddy.
