Working up American select powder with acme 125 grn coated bullets Alliant does not show a starting charge but max is 4.7 for a lead bullet. Anyone use this combo thinking 4.2 to start.

I shoot a 357 single action revolver 125 grn fp acme coated lead light crimp in the groove 4 grns titegroup. These bullets shoot really good. I use a lee die set using a fcd roll crimp for the last step. The new bullet is flat point no groove.

Loading for 38 special which is better in your opinion crimp groove or no crimp groove

I use acme 125 grn fp with crimp groove but i noticed now they use a 125 grn fp with no crimp groove. Has anyone used these or this type of bullet and what crimp do they use.

I put in an order for some coated 115 grn 9mm. I use plated lead from xtreme and berrys and primarily use titegroup 4.2 grns 1.140 oal cci primers. Will plated data need to be reduced with the coated bullets or are they close.

I have settled on 4.6 grns of tg with a 1.250 oal .

update. Replaced factory extractor with aftec and shot 91 mixed brass trouble free rounds. I am satisfied so far.

I run all my 9mm ammo through a lee factory crimp die the last tune I had lasted about 1000 rounds with no fte. the first time it was about 700 rounds. From what I have read the aftec is the fix for shooting mixed brass.

All of the ammo is reloaded mixed brass. Is the failure rate 3 out of 100 normal or am I expecting too much. I have 2 other 9mm pistols with external extractors and they have never failed with reloaded ammo.The 1911 cost the most and is the most unreliable.

1911 9mm after about 1000 rounds extractor failed to work on 3 rounds out of 100 . It has already been tuned once. I ordered a new aftec extractor to solve the problem. What does everyone think of aftec extractors vs factory style.

I reloaded 45 acp with 230 grn xtreme over 4.8 grns of titegroup, 1.250 oal . According to my lee manual and hodgdon 4.8 max 1.200 oal on lead and fmj.I worked up from 4.4 and found 4.8 had the best accuracy out of my ruger p90.Does anyone use a similar combo is 4.8 ok concerned about being at max.

I use x tremes also and noticed mine had very slight circle on the bullet. I pulled some winchester factory fmj target ammo and it had a worse indention than mine.
