There are a few local guys/gals to me with smaller hands that use the support hand thumb to drop the mag before they reach for a new one. Most shoot limited so it is usually only one per stage as to not compound to much. Personally I wouldn't see anything wrong with what you are doing. Try getting it on video and comparing the speeds with the different methods.
With a SiRT, Blue gun, or ASP you will not be allowed to carry on. Something something Replica of firearms.
I have a SiRT that I throw in my luggage but get hassled if they run it through the xray.
Either way I love the thing.
Try to readjust your grip to see if that can help with not pulling shots.
Like Bounty said Dupuytren's is much much worse for shooting.
And there are master level shooter's with that disease.
Where there is a will usually there is a way.
Good lucking figuring it out.
Dawson FO front. Heinie Straight Eight rear. Glockworkx Zev tech V4 race disconnector. Factory everything else.
5.5 lbs trigger pull so its the same when I grab the G17 and hop over to IPSC from USPSA.
Also it sets off wolf primers without a hitch.
From factory G22 to limited
Magwell- Dawson ICE heavy
should the trigger be changed? Zev ultimate fulcrum
have the extended mags +5's Dawson Precision
Need input for sight. Warren with front FO or front/rear FO. F/O front black rear. I use Dawson with a heinie rear
extended slide release. Nope but maybe a mag release. I use a a factory extended.
springs and connector. Comes with the ultimate. Recoil I would use tungsten rod for the weight and find the right spring for your load.
firing pin. Comes with the ultimate.
SJC makes a frame weight and a *thumb rest [generic]* for glocks now. It is FANTASTIC.
Chris, since he just started and is looking for a way to train I think Ben's or Steve's dry fire books are better for now. They offer more of a training regiment. Once he figures out weaknesses Ben's new book is fantastic.
See the target, align the sights on the target (point the barrel at the target), and hold them there until the bullet has left the barrel.
Simple, not easy. Incredibly put.
Some like the extra dot and some don't. I learned with dot and post sights so I prefer having a rear straight8 and a FO front for USPSA type shooting. About Qwik sights I prefer a thinner front sight instead of a wider rear notch. But like all things. Whatever floats your boat and let's you gun faster.
Mike has a great book. I am a firm believer in dry firing though so I would go with Steve or Ben's books first. If you are going all out Ben Stoeger just released a new book of live fire drills last week. He just got second place at the USPSA Production Nats. if that says anything. You can't go wrong with either. Good luck with your program.
I have to agree with Carpenter. I heard this a while ago.
Practice doesn't make perfect.
Practice makes permanent.
Perfect Practice makes perfect.
Remember this everytime you decide to train.
Don't get lazy and cut corners, you are only going to screw yourself.
