  1. There are as many ways to tumble as there were best cams for a small block Chevy in the 70's.There is no wrong answer if it works for you. I use a cement mixer, Brass Juice, Dehydrator, and then Rollsizer.com DC unit. Then it is dry tumble again in the cement mixer with cob and Lucas metal polish. I process once or twice a year and go from there.
  2. Action Target $86.50/100 delivered.
  3. Softer, flatter, powder, spring bullet weight........ none of it matters. Which one returns to target quicker? Which one can you watch the sight lift from poi and time with firing your second shot? Which one can you do 90 and 180 degree transitions with faster? No one has ever won a major because their gun shot flatter or softer. Splits are the absolute lowest denominator in the equation yet the one we all like to talk about the most.
  4. Having an LSI as well as the Cheely E2, I will take Cheely all day. LSI feels OK, but the mag catch fit in the frame is sloppy. If you see someone with an LSI grip that doesn't always drop the mags free, it is due to the fit of the catch and the relief for the magazine is not cut deep enough. I fixed mine, but it is fun to watch others with the mags sticking.
  5. Most guys charge $5/1000. When you get older and have a total shoulder replacement, it is a bit easier to justify but still not a cheap unit. I use the DC and would never look back. I got dies for 9, 40, and .223. I have had to do a few tweaks but my shoulder reminds me frequently I have a much better quality of life over the G-Rx.
  6. I have been using the HF cement mixer for 6 years wet and dry. I usually start wet with Brass Juice, Dehydrator @ 160 for 4 hours, RollSizer.com DC unit for 9,40, and .223, then dry for a few hours wit cob and Lucas Metal Polish. I just processed 35,000 brass in a week a few weeks ago. I will do the same next year.
  7. I am all in for testing. I will get the unit ordered and someone send me four cases of CCI #500 ASAP. Test results guaranteed within 24 hours of receipt on primers.
  8. I tried the ultrasonic for cleaning a gun, not a fan. I will stick to conventional methods rather than risking finish problems by water soluble cleaners.
  9. I have been trying just one run per drill on several range trips and comparing to my journals. More Match Mode like training.
  10. The mental aspect really does not have much to do with shooting. Brings great life lessons. WIth Winning In Mind was written by a shooter but has helped people in countless sports. Reading that book several times can change a lot of aspects in your life. Sometimes you are just in a place where it is time to quit.
  11. Sounds like you are in severe need of Steve Anderson's Mental Management training. What was your goal for that match? What was the goal for the prior matches that you decided everything was good enough for you to stick around and shoot? Some people have more serious physical problems and will not allow the mental state to be negative when it comes to showing up at the match that they trained for. If you have not been shooting well lately how on point is your training? What do your journal entries look like after you have not been shooting well? How much of your training is devoted to the mental aspect of training? There is no such thing as over training. If you have no objectives or goals, there is no path. What is your training schedule and what do you do when you miss a scheduled session? That will answer a lot of your questions.
  12. For Limited I take 7 or 8 mags to every match. I use all the same ones for practice. When I replace internals I don't use for match until I can really wring them out in practice.
  13. You can never go wrong having a timer with you at the match. It is way easier to have one with you than pray every timer is working on every stage. I always seem to hit one stage a month that the timer beep sounded like a goat with a sucking chest wound bleating for his last breath.
  14. I have the Ender 5 Pro which has proven to be a great printer. They all need tweeks and mods, but it has been great.
  15. I also agree that 3rd person view is best for evaluation purposes. I use a GoPro Session 5 for 1st person view and just have someone record with my IPhone in 3rd person. It is usefull to have both views for comparison. You can sometimes pick up some handling issues 1st person that don't show up in 3rd. 3rd is best for entry/exit evaluation for sure.
  16. Either the holster is not set up properly or there is a faulty part on the WSM holster. I have used CR holsters off and on since the early 1990's and have never seen such a problem possibe. I have never had it happen unlocked let alone locked.
  17. CP has never been reliable at having inventory even when Steph had the company. Rollsizer has never filled anybody with the BS you hear from others. I have the DC with 40,9, and 223 dies. Could not imagine doing it any other way.1200 an hour is pretty good production for the great unit Kevin builds. It is nice and quiet with minimal labor. Throw the switch and let it eat.
  18. An auction setting cannot be price gouging because the consumers set the retail price. It is all just supply and command as we have all been taught by Ricky LaFleur.
  19. My wife has the same fortune as you and she found some Columbia Coral Point III that have 12% elastane that she likes.
  20. Is it 1993 again? The last time I heard this question was when C More arrived in the scene. Yes, it takes dry fire practice to get in the groove of using a single plane dot sight. If, however, you would like to provide cheap entertainment to your squad do nothing. It is so fun to watch someone fishing for a dot and wondering if they will catch it.
  21. HD Gold is the only way to go. Brian understands more about shooters needs than anyone in the industry. You can get single side, bothe sides (my preference), in your frames, in his frames. Look him up and give him a call. He will personally take you from start to finish. He also has a great staff to help now. The clarity and color definition with his lenses are like I have never experienced. I am red/green color blind an HD Gold eliminates most of my problems.
  22. I remember 30 years ago when no one could figure out why the quality barreled 40 cal guns would not quit jamming in matches. It was really easy to be competitive at majors when people did not case gauge their ammo. Then these damn roll sizers and push through dies came out. I hate it when innovation levels the playing field. But then again, 30 years later you have people not utilizing all the tools available and wonder why they have problems. Watch the same guy every month have failures at local matches. Ask every month if he case gauges all ammo. Same answer...... nope. Here's your sign.
  23. After having had to switch to fiber 15 years ago due to vision I am now back to black sights. I started in Bullseye 35 years ago and went to USPSA in 1988. I had HD Hunter's Gold build me top bifocals to my prescription last year and did not think much of it until someone asked me why I was still running FO after having vision and glasses matched to the front sight. Ordered black rod from Sevigney Performance and put in my 3 limited guns. Calling shots is becoming easier without the dot to muddy up the process. Glad to be back to regular old fashioned black post!
  24. That is some pretty substantial wear for a new gun. My CK Thunder 5.4 Limited in 9mm has 5k throught it and vurtually no finish wear, let alone the lug area looking like it had been fitted with a pipewrench. That is insane.
