  1. Why not Heli-Coil the stripped threads? Do you have a pic of the stripped threads? Be a quick way to make a paperweight a holster. Or CR Speed would cure all your maladies.
  2. Looking for competitors who have had tri topped 1911/2011 slides converted to an optic plate/rear sight conversion. I would like to end up with something very similar to the MasterPiece Arms Hybrid System. Looking for quality machinists/gunsmiths that people have had experience with. Any pics or links would be great.
  3. A few have mentioned the Dominate Defense belt system but not completely explained why. The inner belt first off is elasticized. You stretch it a bit to put it on and when you ratchet your outer belt this is where the system shines. The fitting of the belt is very crucial, and if you need any help the customer service is impeccable. Not always an immediate response, but thorough. The outer belt is double layer with a liner. This makes it fairly rigid, yet comfortable. When you put on the outer belt and ratchet it to your desired tension, the inner belt elastic will allow it to shrink and not put any bows in your belt. It provides for a very even weight distribution around the waist, which for me is important to me to keep my back in shape all day. Truly the only thing I would like to see in the future from Dominate Defense on the outer belt would be an option for a metal liner to make it stiffer for those of us that would prefer it. With the customer service they have provided me the last few years I will look nowhere else for belt solutions that they cover.
  4. I received my Soundgear Phantom ear pro from my audiologist in Quincy, IL last week. The Dr. had experience with Soundgear but I was the first Phantom customer. She was excellent in the knowledge and testing. She tested before we ordered and then with the Phantoms in. Great experience and so far in the 4 hours I have used them they are phenomenal. Great ear pro!
  5. I have 100lbs of CSB-1P and have used it for 40 major with 180 coated bullets. Can't remember my exact data but I started out around the lowest Universal Clays loads and worked up. It always ran consistent and fairly clean. I am getting ready to load some more with it since I have so much.
  6. This is E3 with 135 GR Acme just this week. I get very similar results in 40 and 45 Major. Great all around powder. 9mm 3.15 E3 1.100 Digital Link CZ75 Beater Temperature: 85F Pressure: 30.0 in Hg Bullet Weight: 135 Power Factor Average: 132 Power Factor Low: 130 Power Factor High: 134 Number of Shots: 10 Minimum: 965 Maximum: 997 Spread: 32 Average: 978 Standard Deviation: 9 # Velocity Ft/lbs Power Factor Date 10 971 282.60 131 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 9 978 286.69 132 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 8 978 286.69 132 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 7 985 290.81 132 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 6 997 297.94 134 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 5 965 279.12 130 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 4 987 291.99 133 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 3 975 284.94 131 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 2 976 285.52 131 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 1 973 283.77 131 8/10/21, 11:08 AM 9mm-315-e3-1100.pdf
  7. I would invest the extra money in SoundGear custom molded. I am not a fan of universal fit at all.
  8. I used to use the GR-x Redding and it did fine. I have since switched to Rollsizer.com equipment and my time saved is huge. Even with the Bulge Buster dies I used to have some failures, and I try to minimize or eliminate all failures. Lots of great ways to minimise and eliminate, just have to find the best way for you. The most important part is correct die adjustment.
  9. Exactly what I did on mine years ago. Don't remember what weight i ended up with. I just preheated the guide rod. plugged the end and filled it up. Worked awesome.
  10. The nick under the feed ramp is usually caused by a mag being over inserted with the slide locked back. Knock off any burrs and it will be fine. There is no issue with either one. It would probably be best to contact them in person rather than post in a public forum hoping they may even have the slightest clue who you are even talking to.
  11. Check to make sure your trigger bow is not dragging on mags. I couldn't find where you said if you dryfire with a mag in.
  12. Definitely. You cannot go into a match looking for that kind of result. Shoot 1 less major next year and take Steve Anderson's Mental Management Class. It will accelerate your performance at majors. It is far from just for shooting. It will help your whole life.
  13. Aren't they all? May not get squat for info some days but always cheap entertainment.
  14. Kleen Strip makes an aerosol epoxy stripper. Works great on Duracoat. Sandblasting works great also. I have blasted with baking soda on polymer grips also.
  15. Great job on the new best amidst what you could have looked at as adversity. Congratulations! The holster reminds me of my very first holster a lot. Ernie Hill Speed. Brought back some memories as soon as I saw it.
  16. With the laser you are paying attention to what the laser is doing, not your sighting system. You will not be able to resist looking past your sights to see what the laser is doing, great way to slow you down. Almost as bad as waiting to hear steel ding before you transition your gun. By doing drills 1-12 you will learn to correct your fundamental mistakes. You can analyze your daily dryfire and log your areas of improvement for fundamental skills. You should be ranking your skills as great, OK, or needs work. If it needs work you need an action plan. If you follow 1-6 and keep your finger from pulling the trigger as instructed, you have no fundamentals to make mistakes with. Your body will teach you efficiency. In the drills when you do press the trigger, where are your sights (Not the laser)?
  17. I would buy once and cry once. Het ahold of Kurt Grimes and get a CWA style 22 or go Volquartsen Black Mamba. Use the Scoth tape trick, it Can (won't always) switch eye dominance. Buy a couple of the Steel Challenge dry fire targets. Throw away the laser. Get Steve Anderson's first book (also known a s Refinement and Repetition) and do drills 1-12 EXACTLY how printed except do them for 3-5 minutes at your current par time or .1 second faster to chase the time. Find par times for yourself on whatever SC Dryfire Targets you buy and keep pushing your par times down. Never practice more than a few times without a timer.
  18. I am not sure where you have been since March, but this is not a Sig P320 X5 Legion problem. It is way deeper than panic buying. This is a nationwide firearms and reloading supply problem. One major firearms distributor I deal with carries 2007 SKU's of handguns. On any normal day last year they would have had 1500 to maybe 1850 on hand. Today they have 8. The consumers and first time gun buyers have gone batshit crazy. The distributors have massive orders. Most of what is coming into distributors is spoken for. This will not be fixed any time soon. The manufacturers are not slowing down. Some have added extra shifts and overtime that has not been available for several years. Check Gunbroker, there have been plenty going for fair prices recently.
  19. I use the doubles drill to define and diagnose deficiencies in grip. 90% of the time for me it really does not show up until 10 yards and it is almost always my support hand needing to grip more. The doubles drill is done at the yardages prescribed and is strictly just pulling the trigger as fast as you can and diagnosing by that second shot. Controlled pairs are just simply 2 A's or an A and an EXTREMELY close Charlie.
  20. I agree with SGT_Schultz. In the 80's and 90's there were stages designed at all major matches as a holster test. This stage was just simply running a few feet with a gun in the holster, not nearly what would have been called a holster test stage. The fix is very simple here. It is either faulty equipment or a faulty adjustment. Fix the problem and move on. It will help your mental game immensely to fix the problem and move past this subject.
  21. The only one sensitive enough for dryfire is the Commander.
  22. I have 3 KKM Barrels all throated just a bit differently. It is not necessarily the fact the bullets are coated, it is the shape and ogive of the bullet. My OAL for Blue Bullets and Brazos Bullets are totally different due to the ogive of the bullet. Also makes quite a difference if they are sized at .400 or .401. I have one barrel I can run coated .401 @ 1.210, but I choose not to. I have found a happy medium for all the barrels with a few different brands of bullets and stick with those. Not all gunsmiths use the same reamer or throat the barrel the same. You have to find what yours likes and go from there.
  23. I think Matt is a freak of nature when it comes to going out of his way for the customer.
