  1. I thought this article on reaction was interesting: http://www.brianmac.co.uk/reaction.htm "Reaction time itself is an inherent ability, but overall response time can be improved by practice." so maybe one of the laser training systems like iMarksman or LASR or Aimtech, that will quantify/measure your speed/time, would be good as a tool for what you are looking for?
  2. Nice!! "not much..." is no way to describe a stable of Unicorns :-)

    CZ 75 Upper?

I have an SP01 9mm, low round count (100), bought it for the frame. You can have the complete slide for $300 if you want. That is a FPB slide, would just slide on any CZ75B or SP01 frame.
  4. I'm interested in Amish_rabbi's question as well! If I have a reasonably accurate load I like (bullet, powder I've been able to get that will last a bit, load say 170 PF), is there a way for a layman to design a comp (port area, # ports) that is optimized for that load, the gas created? Normally it seems that folks have optimized for their comp, but given that it's easier for me to have a comp. built vs access to a diversity of powders to test, having a comp done for your load doesn't seem unreasonable?
  5. Nemesis Lead - you are going to have to change your forum name to Nemesis FMJ :-)
  6. BBI 147 with VV N320 - accurate and clean (The powder/bullet combo does have a unique smell, so I have no idea what is being vaporized, the powder and some of the epoxy like coating?) Oh, and just remembered, compared to RN, the BBI profile fed a little differently in Mr. Bulletfeeder, I had to adjust that a little to keep from getting upside down bullets in the feeder. But an easy adjustment.
  7. Thanks Zack! And thanks for running with the updates!
  8. Here's info from Leupold ... "During the design and development of the Delta Point 2, technological advancements led to feature improvements which were incorporated into the Delta Point Pro. These innovations in the Delta Point Pro superseded those in the Delta Point 2 and made the DP2 redundant to the robust, feature rich DP Pro. Leupold will be fulfilling our US Military and Law Enforcement customers first and will make the Delta Point Pro commercially available March of 2015. In the interim, the Delta Point will be made available for the commercial market."
  9. certainly a big price increase .... 399.99 -> 549.99 for 7.5 delta dot cross slot mount
  10. Looks like AzDak was on the the money ... Optics planet also now showing the delta point 2 as discontinued http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-deltapoint-2-matte-7-5-moa-delta-sight.html http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-deltapoint-2-matte-3-5-moa-dot-sight.html Now has a SKU for DeltaPoint Pro that uses the DeltaPoint 2 picture: http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-deltapoint-pro-matte-7-5-moa-delta-dot-sight.html http://www.opticsplanet.com/leupold-deltapoint-pro-matte-3-5-moa-dot-sight.html
  11. I should have said fully Alco Target ( http://www.alcotarget.com ) ... I thought they were only Duarte, CA. Do they have retail branches?
  12. The newer one was supposed to - let you change battery w/o removing unit from gun like original DP - let you manually set brightness (original DP only has auto sense) - let you manually turn it on/off (right now you need to put the hood on to force darkness / power off with original DP)
  13. TDH - how have the makerbot grips held up? The makerbot guys have a display at Home Depot, I quizzed the guy a little on what do people use these for. (My daughter wants to replicate Pokemon with one). He said top use probably was folks prototyping gun parts with it. Interesting, not sure that could be true, there are almost no conversations on Enos about makerbot :-)
  14. Our 'target' tape from alco is IPG paper tape : www.itape.com $4 a roll from Alco. I've never seen anything like it at stationary store, I haven't looked a lot though. Best I can figure is Intertape 539? Amazon maybe, but only bulk: http://www.amazon.com/Intertape-9341-Flatback-Sealing-1-88-Inch/dp/B000KKN0G6 (buying 48 at a time gets cost from $4/roll to $/2.25) This video says U-Haul but i don't know what widths they have. And I'm not sure if amazon link I have is same tape. hope that helps, love to find a place local that has it for both personal use and club emergency
  15. From USPSA site, here's list of places that have targets and the target tape. http://www.uspsa.org/uspsa-target-vendors.php The pastors are nice alone or with a gun, some folks prefer the rolls as they hold up bullets differently than lots of stacked pastors.
  16. Relative to cost of everything else, the automated things aren't that expensive, about the price of one firearm? I did all of the following from the get go with my 650 setup for 9mm - Dillon Casefeeder - Mr. Bulletfeeder - RF100 primer filler If you feel you should go slow, go slow. But I don't think these things added that much to the startup learning curve - if you want them, don't be afraid to get them. I don't change caliber though - just load 9mm. So if you are loading multiple calibers that are small and large primer, I don't know how much of a pain it is for caliber/primer conversion on all these items.
  17. BBI bullets are a polymer (I think), not moly, and that combined with a clean powder VV n320, my barrel basically wipes clean with a quick pass of bore snake and Frog Lube (thus far after a few thousand rounds).
  18. I'd say pick CZ SP01 Shadow Custom / Accu-shadow or Tanfoglio Stock II 9mm (since there's not a 1911 production gun to otherwise share parts, ability to work on gun ...) I'm going the other way CZ (Accu-shadow, also some things similar Stock II) to open, a few observations FWIW (from ~B class, maybe different insight from > B :-) The grip angle doesn't seem to be much different (for me), also I've heard the XD has similar grip angle to 1911/2011. The single action of a tuned SP-01 Shadow with short reset may be as close at you are going to get to a 2011 trigger in terms of crisp 2# like or so pull A stock II will have a little larger frame for your hand maybe like 2011 grip width, with maybe a little less crisp SA trigger pull compared to CZ A 90 degree c-more mount for your Open gun seems to make it easier to switch back/forth to any production gun, its lower to slide like iron sight vs normal upright c-more. The grip angle and 'safe-action' trigger are going to make a Glock about the least closest to a 2011.
  19. Another possibility - many web stores 'market' with a low price, so the online stores limited inventory gets bought fast as soon as it hits. Local folks selling at normal price (and overhead) will have stock based on the sporadic shipments from CZ-USA (and their supply in). And they need to be a dealer selling them, not all do. I know a local CA store that has at least one TS .40, and their TS 9mm one actually lasted quite a while until last week. Around here seems like the 'go-to' guns for Limited USPSA are the CZ Tactical Sport .40 or STI Edge .40 besides Glock, many love the out of the box trigger of the tactical sport.
  20. 5# or just under DA, 2# SA, 8.5# main spring, Fed primers. SP01 Accu-Shadow with competition trigger job from CZC. (CZC did all the work, I just swapped the spring, it ships with 13# less 2 coils mainspring)
  21. Around here we have CZ, M&P and Glock with red dot to name a few. Now that reliable red dots are relatively inexpensive, idea was to allow production folks to have an alternative sight option w/o having to go full race gun and reloaded 9mm major to be competitive in their division. Argument against was they can already run as open minor today. Another argument against was it would 'dilute' production. In my opinion, if folks starting running open minor and get some visibility, maybe that will help change the attitude over time. Probably didn't help that in many areas, no one has seen this running yet. Singlestack probably got their division after a lot of folks ran their 1911 prior to the division being made?
  22. Will be interesting to see who take's the ball and runs with it if it won't be USPSA.
  23. I have one if someone needs it - picked up someone's take-off before getting a Stock 2 that already had one installed.
  24. The most ethical thing is to advertise what it is - base model, plus enhancements/options. That's the way CZC's build sheet will show it.
  25. Previously I've pinged BBI on using their bullets for major PF, their response: We have a multitude of people using both the 115s and 125s in open with success. Autocomp powder works very and we have seen most success thru using it. 6.2 of Autocomp with the 125 loaded at 1.160 (corrected) seems the most common load for 9 major.
