  1. Used to be USPSA matches at Oconomowoc Sportsmans Club. NISA has a monthly match at Schultz Gun Club in Muskego.
  2. Absolutely not. I'd say maybe one or two per thousand would be tolerable. At most. Been using the PAL for years now and it's maybe one or two per 10k. But usually zero. And it fills the tubes way faster than the RF100.
  3. Crimp should be .002" smaller than the bullet od+brass thickness (at the case mouth). Any more than that is excessive. All you're really doing is removing the flare from the case.
  4. This will get you in the ball park (scroll down to the part on sear spring prep): https://feeds.brownells.com/userdocs/learn/bt002005.pdf.
  5. Gotta make it easy to compete with everything else. Buy your hicap dot gun and factory ammo, take a couple courses, do a little dry fire, post a bunch of videos, and promote your utube channel. Now, it's much more about how fast you can navigate the course than how well you shoot, manage recoil, etc. Totally different game.
  6. Not sure I understand this. What's the benefit of not cleaning the gun? Why would you want to add clean lube to dirt and carbon fouling that's in your gun?

  8. Typically you remove material from B on the frame and D on the slide (using above diagram). And that's it. You do not touch the step on the frame. And if the parts are within spec, you shouldn't have to touch any other surfaces. Re: Accu-Rail, be aware that they hog out a bunch of material from both the slide and the frame. Once that's done, the parts are useless without the rails. So, you'll never be able to fit another slide unless that one is also machined for Accu-Rails. Just mentioning that because they don't tell you up front, and several people I know who've had it done were not happy to learn that after the fact.
  9. I'll believe it when I see it.
  10. The main attraction for aluminum is you get rigidity and lots of shape/texture options without the weight of steel. Also, from a manufacturing standpoint, you can write CNC programs all day long with endless variations for aluminum grips. Molds for polymer grips are very expensive, that's why you don't see many variations.
  11. The President has zero power to do anything. The board has full control. And given the election cycle for ADs, it's multiple years to make any meaningful change there. Most members that might otherwise vote realise this, so they don't bother.
  12. The email I got had a comment like, "hurry and save on the original version." Which I took to mean "while supplies last." So, I think the older model is being discontinued. Also, I see the new one has an orange plastic rotating plate that looks like the one they make for the Dillon collator. Wonder if that fits the Gen 1 MBF and if there's any advantage.
  13. Seems like not such a great design to have that big cutout right where you have all the force of impact. Like exactly where it broke.
  14. Actually, what it means is less emphasis on shooting, and more on who can negotiate the course faster while popping off a few rounds along the way.
  15. The guy's email address is posted at the top of this string.
  16. MPA have their issues, but at least the price is in line with what you get. With Atlas, you're paying full custom gun price for a production gun. Really, if you're going to spend that kind of money, there are far better options.
  17. Anyone make a keyed reverse plug with .332" bore for a 4.6" 2011? Like this, but for 4.6.
  18. The 2097 is for vapor and particulate. It's what 3M recommended out of the many different filters they offer.
  19. The recommended respirator filter is 3M 2097.
  20. I wouldn't use sanding drums as you'll probably change the contour of the pieces and it'll look like crap. Best to lightly hand sand with fine grit paper then polish with scotchbrite. Not sure if H&M will do the prep but you can call or email and ask.
  21. I'd bead blast the exterior then send it to H&M for black nitride finish. Cost $250 for the complete gun and turn around is usually a couple weeks.
  22. They may work as well in terms of going "bang" reliably. But the quality sure has gone down. I have two PAL fillers and three 1050s, and the only primers I have feeding issues with are unplated Winchester.
