I think the 3 to 6 thousand barrel life pertains to rifle calibers. I have pistols with 10’s of thousands of rounds as well as a pcc with at least 8 thousand rounds and they are as accurate as ever.
Without a bushing there’s nothing to keep the works from shooting out. That’s why they call it a plug?did it come with a reverse plug? If so try using that. Bull barrels use a reverse plug and no bushing.
I radius this edge so it rides over the disconnect easier. I don’t think it has a bearing on the next round moving forward as the first round chambers. At least not in my pistols. Try loading a mag to max capacity and thumbing the top round forward. Did the next round follow? Mine do when the mag is at max capacity due to friction in my 9mm mags.
