  1. That sucks!!!! Good luck. I hope you can somehow get restitution. But not to confuse this fake NorthernFirearms (which looks like they claim to be in Kingsville, MD) with Northern Firearms (of Walker, MN) which is legit and one of the largest sellers on Gunbroker (of which I've made many purchases from). I would guess they are trying to play off the large and legit Northern Firearms gunbroker dealer name. The legit Northern Firearms of Walker, MN only sells on Gunbroker (or so I believe).
  2. In Production i've got two Accu Shadows I use. Phenomenal guns. Easily my favorites. But not cheap. To test out CO division i purchased a couple XDm 5.25 9mm with PRP competition triggers. Put on a Springer Precision mount and a Burris FastFire 3 on each. I've competed with XDm 5.25's in the past, so i'm not new to them. I thought if i ever got serious about CO i'd get some shadows. But i'm so impressed with the performance and accuracy of these XDm's in CO i now have no plans of replacing them. My appreciation of these great guns has really been elevated.
  3. I currently own an Accu Shadow, Stock 3 with trigger job and a Stock 2 with a trigger job. I definitely prefer the Accu over the Tanfo's, but i also prefer the Stock 3 over the Stock 2. For me it just feels better balanced and smoother shooting. If i were to shoot something other than my Accu it would be my Stock 3. I think for the money it may be the most under appreciated Production gun available.
  4. Don't take it the wrong way. Not being disrespectful. If you were shooting 3" groups at 25 yards and now putting down 1" groups at 25 yards, you already had some serious shooting skills to begin with. CGW is great and I use a lot of their products in my Shadows, but I'd say it's more likely your improving skill level allowing you to beat the other guys. not the CGW bushing.
  5. I'm not sure what you are saying? They were beating you with their Accu Shadows, but now you are beating them by installing the CGW bushing that took you from 3" groups at 25 yards to maybe 1" groups?
  6. Great match and great time at 2016 PRD/CO NATS. A match well done by Ray, Troy, Eric and all the many, many other volunteers. Thanks!
  7. I shot Production Nats in 2015 and also this year. I thought this years stages incorporated a lot of movement with the possibility of shooting on the move. Much more than last year. Last year had several stand in a box and shoot stages. This year only stage one was stand in a box and shoot. Last year i think there were three or four.
  8. I agree, CO is fun to shoot. I'll be shooting my Mink tuned CZ Accu Shadow for Production NATS. Then going to shoot CO Nats with a couple of XDM 5.25 with Springer Mounts and Burris FF3. Didn't want to commit too much money to CO initially as I'm giving it a trial run. In the few matches I've shot in CO i have really enjoyed it. Since I'm used to shooting my Accu's in Production, if I get serious with CO I'm thinking about next year converting my Accu's to CO guns and getting a couple of the new Shadow 2's to use for Production. I don't think I'll ever leave Production as my primary, but I am having fun shooting the occasional CO match.
  9. Why, specifically, would you choose it over Trojan .40? Cost, features, trigger?? Thanks.
  10. While I like my Shield, I like the ergo's of the XD Mod2 better. Just feel it fits my hand better. And I've owned an XD 4" and currently own a couple XDM 5.25's, so I have experience with Springfield's, just not the XD Mod2. Plus I found a really good deal on one so that also comes into play. Just wasn't sure about carry comfort, holster availability, etc.? I appreciate the info.
  11. Is anyone conceal carrying an XD Mod2 3"? I'm thinking about getting one for ccw. I currently carry a S&W Shield but like the extra capacity of the XD Mod. I'd appreciate any feedback of any kind from people using this model for ccw. Also, what holster are you using? Thanks.

    Accuracy problem

Shooting 147 SNS roundnose over 3.5 gr Ramshot Comp, OAL 1.125 in my CZ AccuShadow, i can consistently shoot groupings slightly better than my Les Baer Premier II and Concept V in slow freehand or table rest. But with the right load i'm not sure much can outshoot the Accu?
  13. Lots of problem with this gun... As in what kind of problems specifically? I've been thinking of ordering one for some time and I'm curious as to what "lots of problems" means?
  14. I know what you mean. Maybe if there was someone like Rob Leatham shooting Carry Optics, you'd be better able to better compare the high hit factors. You're just not getting it. That's ok, numbers can be confusing for some people. Still too many variables to make it relevant.
  15. I don't understand the purpose of this data? There were more higher classified, high quality shooters in Production vs CO. Anyone could have predicted this outcome. It's comparing apples to oranges. Too many variables. I score much better shooting Production vs CO as i've been shooting PRD for 3 years and CO for 3 matches. After i've shot CO for a few years and gained proficiency than I could compare the two vs my own proficiency.
  16. I ordered a set of LOK Grips Roughneck pattern with full thumb relief from PSS (www.practicalshootingsports.com). Jeff Hicks of PSS had loaned me a set of the Bogey pattern that I shot on the range and really liked them, but after shooting a local match today with the Roughnecks I slightly prefer them over the Bogie pattern. Both have the same palm swell for a superior grip, but my preference is for the Roughneck pattern. I've taken some close up pics so you can see the palm swell and the pattern.
  17. I'm using Burris FF3's on my XDm 5.25's for CO. I didn't have the slide milled, I'm using the Springer mount that screws in place of the rear sight. Not that I've shot a lot of matches in CO, but the FF3 works great. No issues at all. And, Burris has a lifetime warranty. And they follow through. I had a FF2 that I bought used some years ago that I had on a AR. Something happened where it wouldn't adjust right or left. I notified Burris, they had me send it in, and they sent me a brand new FF2. Haven't had any issues with my FF3's but after my experience with the FF2 and getting a brand new one to replace it I'm not too worried.
  18. I've gone through this exercise myself, trying to find the most aggressive grips for my 1911. I finally settled on the LOK Grips Roughnecks or the VZ Diamondback. They are the same thing. But definitely the most aggressive grips I've found. And I tried a lot. These are the LOK Grips Roughnecks on my Ford 1911 .40. Very aggressive. Identical to the VZ Diamondbacks.
  19. I consistently shoot better groupings at 20 yards with my Stock 3's than my Stock 2's. Not sure why? I guess the Stock 3 just agree's with me more.
  20. I've used several different grips for my Accu. I tried VZ Diamond pattern, great aggressive texture but just too thin. I tried the thick CZC lemon graters, again great texture, but just too flat. The last year i've been using the cheap plastic CZ USA grips with walking tape as they had the best palm swell so i could have my hands on more surface area. Well, i got to handle several of the prototypes Jeff was testing out (i'm one of the B class shooters he mentioned). In my opinion these are the best grips available for max surface area contact for hand to grip. Quite frankly it's not even close. Regardless of hand size these grips will give any shooter max surface area contact for a better, stronger grip.
  21. To each his own, but I always have an identical gun for back up regardless if it's a local match or a National. I think at least you want to have the same caliber and same mags if possible. If my primary goes down, I don't want to go to the Safe Area and mess with having to work on it or repair it. I want to get back in the game immediately. I'll work on it when I get home. I don't think it matters what classification you are. It just depends on how well prepared you want to be for any problem situation with your gun at any match.
  22. diver60540, I sent you a PM a few days ago.
  23. Oh, so maybe we will see some EAA/Tanfo shooters. With JJ being a former Open shooter this might appeal to him. Maybe pull in Jesse Duff with Taurus with a 24/7 Pro?
