  1. Where can i find just the spring plug for a 1911 guide rod on an XDm 5.25? I have a 1911 tungsten guide rod for an XDm, but i just need the plug. Can't seem to find anyone that sells just the plug. Checked with PRP, PistolGear, Springer Precision.
  2. I like the Techwell Fat Grips, which are more traditional than the Techwell PosiTec grips.
  3. You can find several Dan Wesson PM9's on Gunbroker for around $1350 NIB.

    shadow 2 crack?

I have two Shadow 2's. One has less than 5000 rounds, the other less than 500 rounds. Neither has the relief cut on frame, but the frames appear to be crack free. However, on the slides, both have the exact same mark at the back of the slide by the firing pin retainer. Identical to yours on both of mine. Is it a crack, or possibly a machining mark?
  5. I'm not sure I'd completely agree with that. I've shot a Shadow Orange. Great gun! But, I just prefer the weight and ergonomics of the Shadow 2 over the Shadow. I think most people that have moved to the Shadow 2 would prefer it over any of the first gen Shadow models, even if it's an Orange, Canadian, Accu, etc. The Shadow 2 definitely has a different feel to it. Some prefer it over the Shadow, some don't. But if someone prefers the feel of the Shadow 2 over a first gen Shadow, i don't think even a Shadow Orange will bring them back.
  6. I'm just curious as to how many have moved from the first generation CZ Shadow to the CZ Shadow 2, or decided just to stay with the first gen Shadow? I've always seen a lot of Shadow's at matches, but now I'm noticing a few others that are now also using the Shadow 2. For the last three or four years, I have shot a CZ AccuShadow in Production. I absolutely love the gun! Didn't think there was any way I would move to the Shadow 2. But, after I had a chance to play around with a S2, I decided to order one. It took me a couple months to get adjusted to it, but now that I have, there is no question I definitely prefer it over my AccuShadows. I did add a CZC competition hammer, a 0.90 DP fiber optic front sight, LOK palm swell grips, swapped out to lighter recoil and main spring, and added a CGW bushing. For competition purposes, I'm not sure any of that was really necessary, but I did it anyway. The S2 is amazingly competition ready right out of the box.
  7. I own a Springfield RO, STI Trojan, and DW PM9. All in 9mm. I prefer the PM9 over the other two. And i prefer the RO over the Trojan. The Trojan just seems a little "sloppy" on fit vs the other two. But it's hard to beat the RO on price point. You get a well fit gun for the money.

    Shadow 2 Bushing

I replaced the stock bushing on my two Shadow 2's and my TSO with the CGW bushing. I was surprised at how thin the stock bushings looked compared to the CGW bushing. CGW bushing is extremely well made.
  9. I went to member resources but couldn't find anything for RO Exam. Maybe they haven't got that part figured out yet on their new, revamped website? Or maybe it's just me and i can't find it?
  10. I need to take the RO recertification exam to keep my RO status for USPSA. However, I can't find anywhere on the USPSA site where it will allow me to take the test online. I know last year when I recertified I was able to take the exam online, going through the USPSA website. I've looked everywhere. Why can't I find it?? Am I missing something? Thanks!

    New Bull Shadow models

Seriously interested in the Shadow 2 Bull Barrel. That just looks like an Alpha killing machine and steel popper thumper, just to play around with of course, as it's not PRD legal.

    320 X-5 accuracy

I own a lot of Sigs, a few dozen actually, including several German Mastershop models. And I own a P320 X5. The P320 X5 is extremely accurate. Puts down an impressive grouping. However, keep in mind the P210 is on a level matched by few other pistols. Trying to compare the accuracy of most any gun to the P210 will almost always lead to disappointment in the other pistol.
  13. I also love my PM9's. Great to see a PM45 with all the same features on the PM9.
  14. I've had a chance to handle the new Tomasi 2011. Without question it is an improvement over the old Para 16-40 I used to own just based on fit, features, and trigger. The old 16-40 I had suffered from reliable feed issues (besides mediocre fit and a poor trigger). But, you get what you pay for. There was a reason it was much less expensive than the Edge. A few trips to the gunsmith slightly improved it, but didn't eliminate the feed problem. IF the Tomasi model has fixed the feed issues, it will be a solid offering.
  15. So after shooting the Shadow 2 for awhile, i now definitely prefer it over Shadow 1. Took me a short while to adjust to the S2, but now i can't imagine shooting anything else in Production.
  16. Is it just me, or does it look like Remington (formerly Para) is improving their quality with the newly released Tomasie 2011 model, and STI is lowering their quality with the STI Hawk? I once owned a Para 16-40 and was not impressed. I've owned two STI Edges for some years that I'm very impressed with. But it looks like Remington is really stepping up their game with the Tomasie model and STI lowering theirs with the Hawk. Just based on pics I've looked at, it looks like the Hawk went cheap in area's such as only a couple slide serrations, hammer, fixed rear sight, no magwell, no bull barrel, etc. Kind of reminds me of the 2011 version of the "Spartan."
  17. Yes, they work with stock basepads. But, I use Dawson Precision extended 1911 basepads so that they slightly extend past the bottom of the magwell.
  18. Rich Dettelhouser, owner of Canyon Creek Custom. Website is www.canyoncreekcustom.com. Best bet is to email Rich. canyonarm@gmail.com
  19. Half of those 1911's are mine, and i can attest that Rich's 360 magwell (Canyon Creek Custom) is the best competition magwell i've ever used.
  20. Wow! Surprised the "competition" ammo of some of the manufacturers is coming in around 190 pf. Good info to know. Thanks.
  21. I didn't realize Freedom had a ProMatch line for competition? I'll have to check it out. I'm guessing there isn't any factory .45 ammo that isn't competition specific that will have a 170-180 power factor.
  22. Matt, sounds interesting but i'd need something to meet major min pf.
