  1. Is the M&P CORE the only gun currently set up for optics right out of the box (that would qualify for CO division)?
  2. For those that are, or considering, Carry Optics, what gun are you using? I'm thinking about trying it. Seems to start the easiest path is to use S&W M&P CORE since it's already set up for optics?
  3. Can anyone familiar with both of these models explain the difference? I'm familiar with the Beretta Elite II but not the Wilson Beretta. It looks like a pretty sweet gun. Other than the rail on the Wilson Beretta, I'm sure there must be some other differences?

gyt, I assume you are located somewhere in Europe, as none of these models are available in the U.S.?
  5. I tried the VZ Diamondback grips. Loved them, but they were too thin for my bigger hands. Then tried the thick LemonGrater grips from CZC. Again, great texture but still wanted something thicker. So, i eventually went with the cheap plastic CZ grips ($20 from CZ USA) with 3M walking tape on them as they provided me with the thickest grip option I could find. And they work great.
  6. I concur with the trigger return spring. Have some extras. Had it break on both my primary and backup Accu. Swapped out with a CGW reduced power trigger spring and floating trigger pin and haven't had any more issues. But I have many spare parts and springs on hand in case something should happen. Because as with any gun, it probably will.
  7. I shot an XDm 5.25 with a PRP trigger for awhile. Great gun. Trigger was excellent. But then I tried a buddy's CZ SP01 Shadow with the short reset trigger and that's all she wrote. I loved everything about it. The weight, the balance, the grip angle, the trigger, the recoil movement of the gun, etc, etc..... And now for the last year I've been shooting an Accu Shadow and can't imagine ever shooting anything else. If you buy a Shadow Target make sure it's a newer one with the SRT. Kneelingatlas has some good stuff on this site that can show you where to polish to help smooth it out, maybe play with some springs to see what works best reliably for your load. Or send it to CGW, CZC, or Automatic Accuracy.
  8. I think the weight of the gun itself is often not as relevant as other factors. It's whatever you find that fits for you. In Production you have Stoeger and JJ running a Stock 2, Mink running a CZ Accu Shadow, Vogel and Nils both running a Glock, Leatham running an XDM, Max running a Sig P320. Some like heavier all steel, some like lighter polymer. I don't think skill level determines what weight gun works best.
  9. If you've got the money get yourself a nice tuned up CZ SP01 Shadow. Sure, as others have said the Glock and SP01 Tactical are more than enough. So it a Taurus 24/7 Pro but I don't see many people competing with one. There is a reason MANY shooters (myself included) are shooting an SP01 Shadow. If you can afford it get a tuned up Shadow from CZ Custom, Matt Mink or CGW and don't look back. Or, tune it up yourself. It can be done.
  10. Yes. On my Bladetech for Shadow, I had to drill a hole in the bottom of the holster the same diameter as the barrel so the gun would fit all the way down in the holster. But it was no big deal. And now it fits just fine.
  11. The barrel is available from CZ USA. http://shop.cz-usa.com/ProductDetail/0420049447_Extended-Barrel-For-Sp01-9mm-Only
  12. Taadski, thanks for the info confirming it. I'll try the 0.170 Dawson fiber front with Warren Tactical rear sight for P226 .40s &w.
  13. JAFO, that is good info. Thanks. That gives me something to start with.
  14. Does anyone know the correct Dawson front sight height for a P226 .40s&w with a Warren Tactical rear sight? I know what it is for a P226 9mm. I've got a couple USPSA 9mm models that I've put a 0.160" tall front sight on with the Warren Tactical and it dialed it in for me. However, I can't find anywhere what the proper height would be for a Dawson fiber front/Warren Tactical rear combo for a P226 .40s&w. Thanks.
  15. Havana is small river town. It's a nice little town. Anyone staying in Havana will have just a couple minute drive to the range. It's just right outside Havana city limits. They have several fast food places (McDonalds, Hardees, Subway, Pizza Hut). They also have a few good places to get a beer and food by the town square area. They also have a Walgreens and a Farm & Home that sells guns, ammo, gun supplies. The hotels are a flash back in time, especially the Sycamore. It pretty much hasn't changed since the 1980's. But they are clean and extremely convenient for the match. Havana is probably best known for their annual Redneck Fishing Tournament, where the Flying Asian Carp jump out of the water (Illinois River) and you use nets or bats (fishing poles not allowed!) and either catch them in the air or knock them out of the air. It was featured on the tv show River Monsters. http://www.animalplanet.com/tv-shows/river-monsters/videos/carp-have-panic-attack/
  16. Very nice! I ran a LB Concept V at Single Stack Nat's this year. The gun ran great with no issues at all, as I expected with a LB.
  17. Whoops. I typed 1.18 oal in my post above. It should be 1.16 oal. I've never had issues with factory or reloaded ammo out to a max 1.16 oal in my X5 L1 .40.

    Accu Shadow OAL

I've been loading Xtreme 147 copper plated with an oal of 1.125. Prior to that I loaded several thousand at 1.135 and had no issues at all in my Accu. But after reading about the oal from other Accu or Shadow shooters I backed it down to 1.125.
  19. All of my MecGar 17 round mags with Springer or Shockbottle basepads in my Accu Shadow fit the box every time. Mecgar 17 round mag. A Mecgar 19 rd in a Shadow will absolutely not fit the box.
  20. Click on the link and the stages are viewable. There is no cost or requirement to pay the website.
  21. One M class and one A class so far in Single Stack. Not much to see in Single Stack competition.
  22. I love it! I have an X5 L1 .40s&w I used when I shot Limited division. However, I eventually moved to an STI Edge because of mag capacity. I could get 20 +1 rounds in the STI, but could only get 17+1 in the X5 Mecgar mags with Roger Sherman extensions. However, I still have never been able to shoot better groupings with any other gun vs the X5L1. That includes my Dawson tuned STI Edge, CZ Accu Shadow, Stock 2, Stock 3, and Wilson Combat Concept V. It's the tightest grouping gun I've ever owned. If there was a way to fit 19 rounds in a 140mm mag I'd still be using it in Limited. I should note I have the first generation X5 L1. Never had any issues with it shooting factory ammo or reloaded ammo longer ammo out to 1.18. I never tried anything longer than 1.18.

  24. Polymer framed 1911's have been really popular. Ask Kimber and Wilson.
