  1. I can change that for you after the match this Saturday. Daytona Beach is just 20 minutes away.
  2. There are just certain places on a public forum you just shouldn't even go. The E is definitely one of the places.
  3. I know smoking cigars is bad for your health, drinking whiskey in bars leads to pregnancy, and guns go bang, but Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms are three of my favorite things.
  4. Perfect, it all seems pretty straight forward. Thanks for the tips
  5. +1, in addition, can anyone give some pointers. How much beveling, how deep? How much is too much to where it can mess up the function?
  6. Got it, I didn't realize the Nordic was universal. Thanks
  7. What barrel clamp is that in a couple of the pics? I did a Google search but do not see one for the M3000.
  8. So I was set to buy a M3000, but then I saw they have possibly changed the thread pitch. Any idea what to look for? My local gun shop has one used for 375. Is this new thread pitch confirmed by anyone else? I'd like to be able to cut off a piece and sand a bit, not take it to a machine shop trying to cut adapters. I would like a inexpensive budget shotgun and not an expensive bang my head kick holes in the wall I spent a grand and 20 hours on budget shotgun.
  9. Have Dave do his grip treatment. He puts skate tape and reduces the grip in all the right spaces. I'll admit it does not look flashy, but function over form. He does hands down the best feeling functioning grip I've felt.
  10. Source? You can't just go around saying stuff like that it's not good for my blood pressure.
  11. Part of the machining process, just leave them they don't effect anything negative or positive.
  12. is this a 38 super pistol ??? reason I'm asking is that a HUGE comp on the end... Yup it is a Dawson Awesome Comp. It is 9mm! Shot a few this weekend and it shoots flat and soft at 179-180 PF. This gun actually shoots about 50-60 F/S faster then my old trubor with a T-1 comp. I was getting around 1400 f/s with the trubor and with this I am around 1450+/-. I am going to see how it is around 175 this weekend. Any update? How do you like it vs your Trubor?
  13. Down is up, left is right, right is left, and up is down
  14. Yup, fight through it. One day it just all clicks and you can shoot both eyes open. Practice keeping your eyes from blinking too if you are prone to blinking
  15. I thought about that too. Is there a difference between the old frames and the frames that they are using now? I have the plastic grip but I could change that out later without much hassle. I also thought about just using the frame for the build and having a backup grip and trigger ready to go. You've got a few different options. SV are fantastic guns, many might argue the best. Negative is the year plus wait, that being said there are a few awesome smiths here in Florida that could turn that into an amazing gun in less than 4 months. There are also a few that will butcher it, so choose wisely. Anyways, if you decide you don't want it I can be there in an hour
  16. Don't send an SV frame back to SV. Sell the frame then order a complate gun from SV. SV doesn't sell and hasn't sold their frames in a very long time. They are highly sought after, very rare.
  17. That is a product of a bad barrel fit. The hood is compacted pretty bad, I've seen this on factory guns. Option one, the taper was formed during fit. Option 2 an inexperienced gunsmith attempted to fix it. Option 3 a 5 year old fit the barrel and it formed from use. I'm surprised the slide didn't crack, what does the slide look like? I'd recommend a new slide and barrel. Fitting a new barrel will do the trick, but the slide might be wasted. You can do a cheap fix and refit the barrel, but know the slide might give out and the barrel might be too far gone.
  18. Bamboo, How many Open guns do you need!?!? You got 20 years on me and I still can't keep up.
  19. Isn't it bad to use a tootbrush on your gun? My Dentist said it is fine. FP10 gives it a cinnamon flavor.
  20. Awesome videos, I like how he explains things in a way that give you a foundation to learn for yourself.
  21. 10-20k a cracked slide is either a poorly fit barrel or problem in the metal. 90-100k crack everything was fit perfect and the metal was good, it was just time. Maybe... another 20K could have been squeezed out if it was not tri-topped, in 38 Super, with a slow powder "again maybe" however, this is debatable. Shok Buffs = Flip a coin. I know smith's that swear by them and others that swear at them. My gunsmith swears by them and I flat out refuse to run one. Personally, I hate buffs, but in theory they do make sense. It was explained that take a steel wall hit it with a hammer then a hit in a different spot with a thin rubber mat in between. What happens? Now another great gunsmith told me they are pointless because you could take two steel hammers and bang them together over and over for years. Both build guns that run for many many thousands of rounds 100%. So pick your poison.
  22. I like it. An IMM slide with 5.4 barrel and government recoil system would probably be pretty cool. It looks different but not bad.
  23. STI Trusight comes to mind. Pesonally the Cheely or Freedom 6 inchers with fluted bull barrel, lightened slide on a standard dust cover frane is the way to go if you want an over engineered gun that is the bees knees. Your gun will work just as well too as many championships have been won with your current configuration. 5 inches is plenty of sight radius, if your vision is going put a dot and comp on it and go loud
