  1. Yep forgot about that B&Ps are no go in mine either.
  2. Mine, as built by Tom, will cycle pretty much anything 2 3/4 and up and the 7/8 Aero slugs all day long. The slugs I just use, for shot shells I use 7 1/2, 1 1/8 at 1200 Remington gun clubs for the margin of safety in matches. Have yet to have a single round of 3dram ammo not cycle, but I think I only put a 3 cases of ammo through it since I got it It will not cycle the really crappy Rio's and Estates with any degree of regularity.
  3. I'd say the moment the word "milling" enters the conversation for anything other then sight cuts you are probably in trouble in Production.
  4. Does anyone put the serial number somewhere better then right above the loading port?
  5. I fear not many people shoot an M3. I'm sure someone does and can help you out, but I don't think I've even seen one in the "wild", the M2 is what you see most.
  6. For me, remington's gun club 1 1/8th 7 1/2 at 1200fps have done everything I've ever asked of them. Sometimes I haven't done my part, but the shot has always been awesome.
  7. I had fun. The stages were excellent, the locals welcoming, the RO's friendly, etc. Yep it rained, and yes it was muddy, but its 3gun, we are supposed to be all tough and stuff, so I just flopped in the mud and rolled with it.
  8. I've ran the 18" nordic barrel with a standard carrier and standard rifle recoil with no issues. No adjustable gas. I'm also now running it with no adjustable gas, a voodoo light carrier and an empty rifle buffer, again with no issues.
  9. They screw you at the drive thru?
  10. I think the biggest thing is to keep your mind focused on what you are doing and don't let yourself get distracted for even a second. As soon as you start mixing ammo in your tube you can't afford to lose track of exactly what you shot or throw in a quad vs a deuce or any sort of on the fly changes to your plan without fully adjusting you plan in your head while going mach 2 through a stage. I'm not that smart so try to keep my plans simple to avoid screwing up. Last weekend at Tarheel they had a very nice stage which required mixing buck and bird for a couple different positions and a lot of people weren't that confident about their buck patterns so people were planning on 2 shots of buck per target, followed by 5 bird, followed by 6 buck followed by 13 bird. A single miss would throw away your plan and people were shooting clays with buck and so on. As far as I can tell the RO's were forgiving of that as long as you didn't break anything but it was bit of a mental mess. If I had to do it again, I would pick a much simpler plan then the mix and match, and it might have been faster.
  11. I got to play with the one Bushmaster folks had mounted on their demo gun at Tarheel. The glass is nice, the illumination is nice, the reticle is nice. However I'm not sure it is $2000 nice. To my eyes, the glass was maybe a touch better then a Vortex, the reticle was maybe slightly more useful, the dot was about the same. For me, the only thing that I think would be an improvement over the Vortex I have now is the bit higher density of hashes for elevation in the reticle. The exposed turrets are something I rather not have even if locking. For my money, it isn't worth the $800 extra over the vortex equivalent. That doesn't not mean that it is not a VERY nice scope
  12. That's an interesting theory. Tell me more about why not?
  13. I can't speak for the Oakley glasses, but I know that my wife likes her Rudy Rydon II's which are made smaller to fit women better.
  14. Yep, MOA button all the way. It is more then just a bolt release.
  15. Well the length on a custom cut stock is what you want it to be, as you can cut a lot of stock off the Stoeger stock.
  16. I'm one of the people happy with the PA micro. And I've shot it a lot on an AR, probably about 10k rounds and it still works fine. Mind you, it is now on a range toy gun, but it has been really solid for me, although it is sitting on a larue mount so maybe that makes a difference to its longevity. The issue with cheap optics is not that their are chinese made, the chinese can make something as good as you want to pay them for, the problem is that they are cheap. There is only so much electronics, optics, etc you can buy for $30. To meet that price something has to give.
  17. It depends. I had two BCM uppers side by side. One tight, one really not. They are always tight on BCM barrels, which I think have oversize barrel extensions.
  18. Does anyone know if Stoeger is now or ever planning to sell the youth stock separately or if it interchanges with the standard one? It might be an easy way to get a shorter stock.
  19. There are prone stages I assume. How much would you charge so you won't wear it? I think if you keep your demands low enough, you could get most of us to chip in a twenty.
  20. I went down this path, the VLTOR upper I got was not only oversize, it was also out of round, I've returned it, bought a JP upper AND shimmed it.
  21. The constant shortage of dummy rounds annoys me. The Brownells one are the only ones that are occasionally in stock and they are worse then the old ones. You'd think someone in the 3gun business would sell them at a reasonable price, seeing how they are wear items.
