  1. This is a new gun, I'm still getting used to that double action trigger, I think that's what you see in the first shot. Do you still see that flinch around 1:15 in the video? I guess, my upper body is not returning to the starting point after each shot and at some point I lean forward. Is that just being new and not used to it or is it a bad stance? I figured the Push/Pull would use more of my biceps/triceps/pecks to "squeeze" the gun in place, as opposed to using my forearms to "crush" the gun. Did I get that all wrong? Another question, as I'm practicing this, is it normal to use enough strength to the point your arms start to shake after a bit?
  2. Been shooting a shotgun for less than 2 months. I really dig my Versamax Tactical. Had the lifter welded and the port open.
  3. Yup. I pre-ordered it to replace my Leupold Mark AR 1.5-4. Maybe in a year or so, if I feel the need, I'll upgrade to the Razor, but this is my first 3 Gun season.
  4. Alright, I'm a new shooter, so please take that in consideration. Can someone tell me what I'm doing it wrong here, or if something looks right, what does need to change in order to get tighter groups? I'd say I have about 8in between the first and second shots. I'm trying to push with my strong hand and pull with the weak hand without using my forearms to "squeeze" the pistol.
  5. Thanks for the link Willz. Is there any particular type of Match Savers for the Versamax? Also have any of you guys used the larger shell release button on a Versamax?
  6. I'm a new shooter, got the Vimeo download as well and really liked it. I have the Dry-Fire book/DVD and I was lost watching the DVD, the Foundations was great to watch, very easy to understand. And yes, The readme.txt file with the Vimeo download states the GM card only comes with the DVD version.
  7. My head hurt after that stage. The biggest thing I would have changed would be using #4 buck instead of 00. I was very fortunate to shoot with a great squad at Tarheel and had some good insight on my loads. On that house stage I loaded 1 bird 4 buck 4 bird and went from there. It was my second 3 Gun match, 5 weeks after I first shot the shotgun, I was happy with the result. Thank you guys for all the help. https://youtu.be/pRdoLNv97RQ
  8. I have a new CZ Shadow Custom and I've shot a couple hundred Freedom 147gr without any issues.
  9. Just got a CZ Shadow Custom yesterday. I carry a Kimber so it felt kinda natural to ride the safety. My question is, any good advice on preventing the safety to come OFF on 3 Gun matches?
  10. I'm stocked on Freedom Munitions 55gr, I was wondering if you guys would use different kind of ammo throughout a match, if so you just change the scope settings when you switch ammo?
  11. Alright guys, you gave me plenty of good advise. I'll try to execute CJW's method.
  12. I'm trying to figure out a way to load so I don't run dry, that happened in the last match and it was just too much to remember in order to start and complete the load. I've been shooting shotgun for about a month now.
  13. So, on my first 3 Gun match few weeks ago, I was able to smoothly Quad load (for most of the time) the one thing I had trouble figuring out was how to plan my loads between Slugs and Shot, mostly because I was afraid to miss. I was surprised that I ended up not missing a single shot with the shotgun, I just shot slow. I now have a pistol sight on my Versamax with a extension tube that would hold 10+1. My second match is next week and will be a mix of Birdshothot, Slugs and Buckshot with slug targets up to 110yrds. Any tips on how to plan the loads and how to have a contingency plan? I load weak hand, if that matters. Thanks for all your help.
  14. Hi guys, I'm very new to this and have my second 3 Gun match next week. I have a Stag 3G with a 1:8 twist, chambered for 5.56 and was wondering which ammo to buy for this match. Targets will be anywhere from 50 to 375 yards. I was looking for the Hornady SteelMatch 75gr, but can't find that in stock anywhere, so I need to figure out what else is recommended for those distances. Thank you
