  1. I've had significant changes in groups based on different powders (maybe not that drastic though). Do you have and powders with a little slower burn rate? I'd definitely try some other loads. Also, have you checked if anything mechanically could be at issue?

    CZ Accu-Shadow

If CZ sells this from their OEM sales group and it meets the other criteria why would it not be approved? Just food for thought....the CZ 97B is approved for IPSC and it has a similar concept for the bushing system. Either way, this pistol has me excited. I'm just nervous to buy one if it doesn't get USPSA approval.

    Loose sear cage

I use the low profile safeties. I would accidently bump the factory safety during a reload or negotiating a wall/prop and it was costing me time. You could also try changing the springs that hold the little v-tipped pieces (can't remember name). I think it's a common problem, especially with those who have larger hands and higher grips.

    CZ Accu-Shadow

    That's nice right there.
  5. I'm working on one now. It's worth paying CZ custom the money for the CTS. It's a lot of time... http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=44860.15 ...further down I hijacked the thread...kinda.
  6. what is the difference between that and the TS? Tumbler vs. D type safeties. The engraving on the slide, standard magazine capacity, and the rear sight type come to mind. I also think the guide rod (steel vs. plastic) is different. Other than the safeties/sear cage I've found everything to be compatible/interchangeable.
  7. Thanks to all the RO's, Staff, food service, etc. that put this on. We appreciate your thankless help. I had a good time. Just wish I could have seen the guy "rack" himself on the "Front 9" stage with the golf club prop.
  8. I have a couple of the GGI extended magazine releases and IIRC it is 1mm longer than factory. I'm in the middle of a safe swap so my collection is a wreck.
  9. Yes it is. Just be careful to disassemble/assemble in the correct order so you don't have to drill out your catch. There have been a lot of broken frames from doing this.
  10. I wipe mine with a light coat of CLP when in storage. They are stored indoors as well. Never had an issue, but it's also not as humid 3 states north.
  11. I shoot "Walmart special" Federal Target and Remington Golden bullet all the time in my X-Five with 22lr conversion. Some of the cheaper stuff might have issue if you have lowered your mainspring weight.
  12. Now we want pictures! I was being literal. That Ratty old rebuild looks awesome
  13. I'd switch to the comp hammer if it were me. Cajun has a hammer as well (personally never used it). Based on their other stuff, you probably will have good results. Either way, you can't go wrong. Depending on your grip and hand size, you might find you need to change the safeties out to a lower profile version (I had the occasional switch to "safe" in matches that caused issues). Otherwise it's a shooter.... Some DIY polishing tips... http://www.czforumsite.info/index.php?topic=14688.0
  14. I changed out the slide release to the standard SIG 226 design as my high grip and hand size caused the outboard bent X-Five type to be activated all the time. It still happens once and while for the standard slide release but not nearly as much. Mine is quite accurate (slightly better than the Shadow), but the Gray guys have shown a fitted BarSto barrel can produce better groups than the factory one. If you have the money to burn you could get one of those for matches and shoot the factory for practice. I never had any of the failure to extract problem that I keep hearing of on the SIG Forum...who knows? I also run a little lighter Wolf spring now (can't remember the rate). 7.7gr of AA #7 was my most accurate load (little dirty) and 4.2gr of VV320 was nearly as good and softer shooting (both behind a 124gr MG HP).
  15. No such powder exists. Everything else is just settling. I recommend you avoid that local gun shop in the future. Out fahking standing! Well said Sarge.

    Tactical Sport grips

I sanded off the bottom of some G10 checkered grips (for magwell clearance) and they work great.
  17. What kind of grip is that? I'm interested how the surface finish progresses with holster and usage wear. I have a Shadow with IonBond. There is some wear (very small) on the forward part of the frame from holster, and the rails and lock lugs on the slide after 10,000 rounds. I'm not unhappy, but there's always room for improvement. I'm interested in your observations/experiences.
  18. I saw this link on SIG Forum regarding this shoot. I wish I could make this match some time. Too bad they don't do it during football season so I could get two birds with one stone http://www.britinusa.net/live/ Sorry, for the repeat....I just read the earlier post.
  19. They are more accurate because the barrel twist is in the opposite direction of the North American and European Shadows.
  20. ...and I was that boy It's a good "Teaching Moment" to know what magazines will not cut the mustard in regards to length. Since I'm no good at shooting, the least I can do is be a lesson for others. Sad thing, is I prefer the CZ ones as they are more prone to drop free (in my experience), and I had 5 of them that fit, and two that didn't. Doh! I knew the feeling. At the IPSC Nationals I had the extended base pads shooting in Standard division. Problem was, they were the extended pads for the 16 rounders. I had them on the 18 rounders. Welcome to Open! Maybe we can start an "Open CZ" division. All mods are legal as long as they provide no competitive advantage. Wanna' cover your slide with grip tape? No problem. Feel the need to carry 33 round magazines with 10 or 15 round limitations? No problem.

  22. Bump for someone developing SIG upgrades.
  23. All these sexy Czechs are making me want another.... That CZ with the weld on magwell is something CZ should consider casting in their frames...in stainless.
  24. I suppose you need to figure out what it would cost to finish to your liking and what work you can do yourself. Then add it up and decide if it's worth it. You might also figure what you can get out of it. For me the $400 price point was too high for the condition they were in. Example: $175 to have it refinished $100 to have the front sight dovetailed (I can't take gun parts to have done at work...darn liberals). $70 for CZ custom hammer (now Cajun is offering one too). Probably another $50 in misc. parts. Of course I'd also have to put some VZ grips on there, but that goes for the new ones too
