  1. What kind of weapon are you using? For Production there is no benefit for a "Major" power factor weapon since everything is scored "Minor". For Limited 10, Limited and Open there is a difference between the two. Basically, the scoring zones are the same size, but they are scored differently. For example, an "A" zone for Minor and Major is five points, however a "B" and "C" zone is four points for Major and three for Minor, and the "D" zone is two points for Major and one point for Minor. Check out all the details at http://www.uspsa.org/rules/2010HandgunRulesProof3web.pdf Good luck and have fun.
  2. I suppose you have to overcome the force of that trigger return spring (in addition to the mainspring) when pulling the trigger. I don't know the spring rate of the trigger spring, but I'm sure it's quite small compared to the mainspring.
  3. I just measured a CZ75B type firing pin and it was as follows; Stock: 2.4415" / 62.1mm Extended: 2.4775" / 62.93mm
  4. I would like to extend the safety width on my CZ IPSC standard. I plan on shaping and checkering (lines) myself. Does anyone have a suggestion/recommendation on who to use? Thanks.
  5. I've put it in a livestock syringe to get it into "useful" places.
  6. The mag made the gun to big for the box. CZ SP01 mags are fine...MecGar with +2...apparently not.
  7. I turned my CZ SP01 Shadow into an open gun last weekend. You just have to pull out a MecGar +2 magazine from your bag when you go to Chronograph and "the box".
  8. http://guiderod.com/ Enjoy
  9. CZ Custom has both a shorter steel version (like my OEM IPSC Standard I think) and also full length stainless. I put in the full length stainless. I doubt it will matter, but I like full length and steel guide rods "just because". I think Steve Bedair also makes a guide rod for this.

    IPSC vs TS

Yes, they will. I just put some Grams "guts" and CZ basebad in some TS magazines and they work fine in my IPSC standard.

    IPSC vs TS

The safeties and sear block are different. The Tactical Sports has the "D" style tumbler and the IPSC Standard is a round style. The magazine capacity is 16 in an IPSC Standard vs. 1 in a TS, and as mentioned...the sights. So far I haven't found anything else.
  12. Have you watched an armorers DVD or checked out the CZ Forum? That might be a good start. There is a nice thread on a DIY trigger job that has some good images of taking the weapon apart. (below is the "Home" Gunsmithing thread) http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?PHPSESSID=40eb09926b2b9bfe4f5db27f834a153d&board=40.0 (below is the DIY trigger job thread) http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?PHPSESSID=40eb09926b2b9bfe4f5db27f834a153d&topic=12683.0 For what it's worth the CZ TS is almost the same as the 75 for complete disassembly (can't think of any differences off the top of my head).
  13. We will pray for your soul. I-85 Southbound is no place for a lady...
  14. I'd say an extractor, extractor pin, trigger pin, grip screw and a slide stop. Personally, I have just about every little part, pin and spring, but I don't always take them with me. I usually replace all my springs after 5-7000 rounds and have yet to have a failure (where's some wood?). Tony
  15. The Comp, L1 and All Around have the same sights. You are basically paying for the adjustable trigger and the Nills grips with the L1. For competition, I'd probably go with the comp and change the grips and have a trigger job...if I did it all over again.
  16. I also have some Montana Gold 124gr JHP's on the way and, as soon as I get them, I plan to chrono them to see how they compare. What I like the best so far is that this is by far the cleanest powder I have ever shot. The accuracy is not bad either. I finished today's practice with some slow fire shots off-hand at a target at 15 yards and I could have covered the resulting group with a half-dollar coin. With those JHP MGs I used maybe .1grs more n320 and same 1.10" for the same 132-ish PF. The conical-nose MG JHPs have less headspace in my CZ. I have had about the same experience as well. With 4.2gr of VV320 and 124gr MG JHP I get @ 1075 avg. fps. I thought I might have lost a little velocity when I had my barrel IonBonded (less resistance).
  17. For what it's worth, I like Hogue and VZ G10 grips. I had the aluminum with grip tape, but found the G10 "fit" my hand better (large hands). Good luck in your search.
  18. Nice weapon. For what it's worth, Hogue has some new G10 textures to consider (Chainlink, piranha, etc.)
  19. The L1 guns would be suited for Limited or Limited 10 division. Given that competing handguns will have more magazine capacity it will not be as competetive in Limited class. It would be perfect for Limited 10. All you really need is a fiber optic front sight. As far as magazines go, you can lightly file the edges of a MecGar +2 bottom to work with the magwell, or use standard P226 magazines and buy some base pads. I've heard of extraction issues with 9mm, but haven't experienced it (yet). I've seen a new extractor design by SIG and I hear Grey Guns has a fix coming out soon. I have an L1, a Tactical and an All-Around. They are all very accurate and smooth running guns. I love to shoot them...just not in USPSA right now.
  20. I'll ask at the registration shack to be put on the squad with hardcromed CZs.
  21. Thanks for the reply so far....much appreciated.
  22. I managed to pick up a used CZ IPSC Standard (40S&W) and I'm going to work it over for the end use in USPSA Limited. I would appreciate any tips or hints regarding your experience with aftermarket modifications, lessons learned, etc. I.e. What magazine set ups (base pad, followers, springs) are you using? How many rounds? Reliability issues? Any experience with the CZ Custom large magwell? Any positive differences with the CZ Custom flat SA trigger? Any spring suggestions? (BTW, for what it's worth I'll probably lighten the slide this winter). Is the rear sight a standard Bomar cut? Does the CZ Custom hammer have different geometry to benefit?
