  1. I've found calling (949) 548-3745 on this website http://www.gramseng.com/ to be the most successful.
  2. Contact Stuart at CZ Custom for a quote. I understand they often refinish the slide coating, etc.
  3. The most accurate I've had is with 7.7gr of Accurate #7. I use 4.2gr of VV320 with that bullet though as it's cleaner and "softer" shooting.
  4. To fit the safety, you can easily see the areas that need relieved vs. a 1911 where I have to use dykem to find the contact file/repeat. The CZs do have some small springs and detents that are easy to lose (I've learned to keep a few extras around) and you use a punch more frequently to tear down vs. a 1911. You don't need many of the specialized tools for the 1911 either (plunger crimp tool, front sight crimp for mil spec, etc.). I think if you've worked on 1911 it should come pretty easily. Check out the CZ Forums Gunsmith section.... http://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?board=40.0 Good luck in your endeavors.
  5. I've been watching the #100 from Powder Valley for a few months....with none in stock. My local gun shop got some in a few weeks ago, so I bought them ($30 per 1,000). Ended up spending $20 more than I would have at Powder Valley (taking care of my Hazmat). It will keep me out of the gun shop for a while (chaos).

    CZ SP-01 in stock?

CZ Custom had some SP01 Shadows as of yesterday. Give them a call....
  7. Hmmm, now I'm wishing I did something different! I modeled the slide up in Pro/Engineer CAD software and ran a few options looking at weight reduction and cosmetics. I started to do some Finite Element Anaysis on the slide with and without cuts but I wasn't sure if I was modeling the forces during lock and unlock so I just stayed away from making cuts near these areas. If anyone is interested I could provide them with a STEP or IGES file of the slide. Cheely did the machining and now it's at CZ Custom for a bushing mod. Then more metal finishing work and a coat of Burnt Bronze or Ionbond Copper.
  8. Try it....you might like it. Come on....don't you want Grand Master?....
  9. What happened to CZ magazines lately? I've been trying to pick up some Mec-Gar 17rd mags and everyone is sold out. I guess Santa's list must have been populated with them....
  10. So how does it shoot? Please, please tell us....
  11. I just got notification of shipment for my order.
  12. How about Sexually Assaulted Primate? It's a little more difficult to say (and it doesn't rhyme) but it might be less insulting.
  13. You should give Cajun Gun works a call. He's a very helpful gentlemen. I bet he'd have some ideas. He was telling me he does a mod on the busing on the 97 and they shoot like lasers.
  14. I'm willing to spend what ever amount of money....so I don't have to practice.
  15. I'd go with their CTS. I can tell you from an ergonomic perspective they are very similar and for me this "feel" is important. All the time involved, their CTS package is well worth it.
  16. Jealous! I just sent mine in the other week. I'd be interested in how she shoots. Please post updates.....
  17. What is the nearest city for the match location?
  18. I have the CZ flat trigger and might go back to the stock trigger. I would like the option of having the face of the trigger a little further forward. I didn't realize it had a different spring design, so that probably rules it out. Thanks for the input.
  19. Has anyone ever tried putting a Henning trigger or Hammer in a CZ IPSC Standard/Tactical Sports? I know generally there are differences between the Tanfoglio and the CZ, but was just curious about this one in particular (especially the trigger).
  20. Thanks for sharing. I just got a couple sets of the Diamondbacks.
  21. \These kind of problems make tinkering with guns fun
  22. I've run the 16 and 18 round CZ magazines. The 18 round mags needed a spring change quite prematurely (in my opinion). I've gone to the +10% as mentioned above. For what it is worth, my preference is with the MecGar 17 rounders. They are shorter (more box clearance) than the CZ and I think the springs are better. $24 each isn't too bad either... http://gregcotellc.com/cart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=97_130&products_id=591

  24. Oh, you are in Wyoming! The wind probably stopped blowing for a couple seconds and it threw your groups off.
