  1. 2nd that on the CZ Custom pads for functionality. If you dump your mags in sandy soil during a match, and need a quick clean, the CZ Custom pads will definitely show their benefit of going on and off easier without small tools or the bending of the springs. The "L" shaped stainless base in the CZC is pushed up via a small access hole in the bottom of the pad until it clears the magazine tube for lateral removal. With the Springer, you will need a small allen key "0.05in?" to screw in, then push laterally and deflect the magazine coil spring until removal. I don't like how it side loads the magazine spring. They (Springer) are machined nice and the anodizing looks better than CZ Custom. I use them on my Shadow mags were the allen screw isn't needed (same disassembly method as factory) but prefer CZ Custom for the TS/Czechmate.
  2. If you use a two part epoxy resin to "dust" with Silicon carbide you can always chemical dip or sand blast it. You'll have to refinish it after, but hardchrome
  3. I sent my basepad to Springer Precision. They took a look and called me back. He said that the TS magazines move a lot in tolerances so they had to shift my tube to the rear. Not ideal, but not uncommon given the current state of things. They also did some polishing to magazine and basepad. He mentioned that the TS/CZMate mags seem to be difficult for Grams followers and that Gram had made a Mandrel (or something) as there have been a higher number of issues with TS mags lately. Anyway, they offered to send it to Grams, but I'll have them send it my way and do some "fiddling". He also mentioned that bending of the front of the top coil spring rearward (tipping the follower rearward) can help with nose dive issues. They also offered to replace it with a 140mm basepad, etc. I'm happy with their customer service. If you have issues, it's worth reaching out.
  4. I have them on a TSO and older IPSC Standard. I ordered standard CZ75 with bottom cuts accordingly. I did have to file a little off the bottom of both to fit properly...not a big deal.
  5. Here's the gap I've struggled with. It would be nice if I could back out the screw on the base to the magazine to align, but it's too far outboard. Sent from my SM-G950U using Tapatalk
  6. I've put a little chamfer on the SP base at the rear edge (since it's showed rubbing there) but I probably need to try it on the magazine since the round going up is the issue. Basically if the magazine is loaded to where the 9mm round is inside the basepad it will catch on the magazine/pad transition and lock the whole thing up. I can't reliably use more than maybe 24 rounds with it. I might just have a bad base pad and need to return it to SP as it's no good for me now..
  7. My long Czechmate magazine works better than the Springer Precision extension when fully loaded. Grams has springs and followers that I use in all my high cap magazines so I can't comment on the issues others have found. The rounds/spring/follower can drag on the joint between the extension and magazine on the SP extension. Maybe some polishing would help but I've not worked on it. I just down load the few times I use it. There is a coupon code for 20% CZUSA on this forum if you are looking to save some money on the "big stick".
  8. Works now. Whoot! Goodbye money.
  9. Didn't work for me either. Blah!
  10. I've done the rear strap on a couple and the cast frames are hard, but it can be done. My labor is free but if I had to charge for it would be expensive. I've never attempted a front. I figured I'd need to weld the checkering file on an offset piece to do the vertical lines. Cogan from Accurate Plating talked to me for a little while about the fronts as they have a laser and pulled off a couple in the past but they aren't doing it right now but didn't rule it out in future. He commented that the front straps on some frames were very thin and you run the risk of cutting through. You can also solder on checkering plates which might not be a bad idea. CZ Custom has their own model (A01) with checkering on the front and back.
  11. There's one for sale on the CZ forum right now.
  12. Send me your e-mail address and I'll send it. Let me know what format you want. Also, if I don't respond, remind me in a week. Work / Life is hell at the moment
  13. I've had really good luck with IonBond DLC on mine... The flash made this look a little two tone but normally does not appear this way.
  14. I do the weapon after every use but maybe the old infantryman in me is obsessive. Prior to kids, they didn't even make it into the safe until they were cleaned. Now they get done over a few days after the fact. Magazines depend on the conditions they were last used in. I'll let them go 3-5 times if not dropped in the dirt but always after a match. I'd like the hear the argument of a properly cleaned and lubricated weapon over a dirty one. I think some people consider it a right of passage to neglect their weapon and still have it function. I'd rather treat it with respect.
  15. IonBond DLC has held up on mine with a Double Alpha holster (insert needed slight fitting). I went with a CZ Custom large mag well and then blended it to the frame. I hard anodized it in black afterwards. I also used their flat trigger. For grips I use LOK Bogies or CZ factory plastic coated with silicon carbide. I'd say this is totally up to personal preference.
  16. LOK has a 20% off special running from the 4th of July to the 8th of July, but it counts for a belated Canada D'eh as well code: LOK4TH
  17. I'd say your disconnector isn't fitted correctly as stated above. Hopefully just a few swipes with a diamond file or stone or a chamfer. Check out the animation on the link below. It's helped me visualize when I run into fitting problems. I put dykem or sharpie on the action surfaces and look for rubbing or lack of rubbing as well. https://www.czfirearms.us/index.php?topic=73586.0

    Mag Tuning

I run the extra power extractors in my 40S&W CZs. Not sure if it's necessary, but a trend I follow after one with issues.
  19. I just measure the wire diameter and number of coils when I'm confused. If you have a measurement, I can compare to my stock. Factory is typically 16lb. I haven't checked the math but this place has an online calculator. Interesting enough, they don't correlate with the Cajun and CZ Custom values. https://www.thespringstore.com/spring-calculator.html For example a Cajun 11lb (yellow) comes out to be @3.1lb/in spring rate and 9.6lbF, and a gray (14lb) is 4.3lb/in and 11.7lbF.

    CZ 75 Lower

I was looking for the same and even these beat up imports to work on. I ended up buying a CZ SP01 that only had two magazines through it and a new CZ75 SA. I sold the complete slide assemblies pretty quickly. In the end it was a lot easier.
  21. I wouldn't mind a hard chrome Shadow 2, but I'll pass. I have enough problems with guns and my wife that I don't need to bring home a bright strange one with a tramp stamp on the frame and another woman's name all over it.

    Czechmate Grips

They are the same profile as standard CZ75. You can trim them yourself, or LOK will make them shorter for you. I found when I had LOK do a pair, I needed a couple swipes with a file before I could get the magwell on. VZ could also offer this service...just not sure.
  23. Notice on this video he has a jig/guide for his vertical lines. If you have some vice grips with flat pads you can get a piece of flat stock on there and make it work without a dedicated jig like he has. I should have done a modification of the undercut like him as well to have them come out cleaner. I'm sure you can do it.
