    CZ 97B

Shameless plug, but I have a 97BE (Cajun) that I'm trying to sell if someone really has the burning desire for one. Need the money to build an Open gun.
  2. I'd do it again because I find comfort in knowing that the equipment cannot be blamed for my accuracy problems. I also am lucky enough to have disposable income to act so foolishly. There is the roulette game with the manufacturers tolerances and the resultant accuracy. Some factory pistols are excellent, some are not. It's just how the tolerances play out for you. The bushing takes that variation away. If I had to trim cost somewhere, it would be considered. I'd put the gun on a rest and see how it does. If it is over a 2-3" group I'd sway back towards the bushing.
  3. I share the same experience with my bushing. It's quite accurate but wasn't terrible to begin with.
  4. My wife would beg to differ. Both have cost me a lot of money.
  5. If you are in the CONUS, send me your address an I'll send you a spare trigger spring.
  6. Thanks for the comments. On another forum a CZ gunsmith with a lot of experience hadn't seen this. It's a LPA TRT adjustable. Only 0.72 mm in vertical thickness and 0.6 in the width in the failure cross section.
  7. The sight broke during a shooting session under recoil. No dropping of the firearm. The metal is very thin in this area (holes for springs) and it looks like it was cast, but I can't be sure until I take it to work and check it out under the microscope. I'd say that's it is the weak point. I don't have a spare Tactical Sport, but it's in the long term plans. I have an extra Ed Brown Bomar sight, but these are the LPA TRT cut where the adjustment screw threads in the sight and not the slide.
  8. Snapped this one last night. Looks like I won't be shooting Limited next weekend.. Was going to try the Caspian Arms rear sight. Any opinions/experiences with them? Others?
  9. That looks really sharp. Good choices on the colors.
  10. I had the same thing happen to me at Area 3...but found it out during the match. I think the TSA must hit the natural frequency of that sucker because I've never had a problem before (or since). Red Locktite on my dovetails now when I put it back in. Blue on the screws.
  11. I have larger hands (right hand dominant) and recently removed my extended safety. I've noticed that during week hand shooting, I will occasionally bump the safety. The same occasionally happens during reloads. I'm going to run stock for a while and see how I like it.
  12. Never done that, but for some odd reason I have one in my spare kit. I'm guessing there was a quench crack or some kind of preexisting defect in the wire...you were just the unlucky winner of randomness.
  13. Can you share the contact for who did the grip and barrell? I did the work myself except the machining and welding.
  14. Do you have a picture of the ones you have? I have some of the standard extended CZ custom safeties I'd be willing to trade based upon the type you have.
  15. CZ Custom threaded the end of the slide (like a 97 model) and it then "spins" in (also has a reverse plug for the recoil spring). I wonder if your bushing to barrel clearance is too great? Of course I'd try different ammo combinations first but maybe there is something going on there? Just guessing at this point.
  16. Can you feel any movement between the barrel muzzle end and the bushing during lockup (slide forward)? What about the chamber/breech end? Here's a target from CZ Custom. I assume 25m but maybe Stuart can chime in?
  17. My IPSC Standard with the Accu-bushing is an absolute tack driver. I use 5.1gr of VV 320 and a 180gr jacketed bullet (light crimp) or 4.8gr VV320 with a polymer coated lead 180gr (no crimp). I'll have to measure a round to get the OAL An accurate 155gr load was 8.0gr of HS6. Hope this helps my badische freund
  18. Somehow I ended up on that squad too. Maybe we can package our entries together as a "USPSA Voyeur Package" for a $1000 or a pound of VV N320. Have fun, I wish I could be there instead of fun above the Arctic Circle. Wish everyone well. "Back to your regular programming"
  19. Does anyone know how (who) to request a refund? I found out I'm traveling for work now and I didn't want to get beat by the Glock girls in my squad.
  20. Those borken firing pins. If I ever meet those fargen bastages who heat treated those chicken bones they call steel, I'll smack that ice hole right in da mouth. That kind of quality is just bullstein. (Johnny Dangerously Moroney reference)

    Need help with TS

For what it is worth, my IPSC Standard locks on the last round with the Grams followers. Also note, I can't get 21 in there....yet.
  22. Cheely Custom did mine. I was satisfied.
  23. I have a German produced model and I have been very happy with it. While not my choice for shooting Production, I think it's a reliable, accurate, and functional DA/SA weapon for the money. My trigger pull was somewhat heavy but it's reasonably smooth. I often put this pistol in my glove box when traveling and was concealed carrying the pistol until I purchased a CZ PCR.
  24. Three or four hours including the removal of the cast checkering.*edit: I just remembered that I had taken the cast stuff off the day before so make that 4 to 5 hours of total time. That's probably pretty good time and the results look good.
