  1. From what I have seen, with the "SAFE" carry type holsters someone is more likley to have an AD while holstering. I have seen several occurences of 1911 shooters holstering with the safety off and Glock shooters not getting there finger completly clear of the holster while under pressure and on the run.
  2. If there was only a way to make the bolt on an AR lock back when fireing the last round with no mag in place? Any ideas? As far as I am concerned you should NEVER have to reholster a hot handgun durring the course of fire.
  3. Something tells me even TGO does not make a ton of money from shooting and sponsorships, I bet he does get truckloads of ammo, supplies and maybe even the occasional golf game paid for.
  4. OK I guess we can agree on something, you shoot one hell of alot better than I do but I can take one apart and put it together with my eyes closed. I rather have your shooting skill, guess that takes just a bit of practice eah

I waited in line for 4 1/2 hours Monday. its tight right now.
  6. Best or beast?? 8 stages and I used 438 rounds. I had a great time even though I couldnt reload to save my life, did real well at loading my pinky and index finger though. Sure made me wish I had a couple of 20 round mags though, looks like its time to tune a few up. Are you sure we cant use 170mm mags in Limited. Ogiebb that 2% you got me by made it even more fun, we would make a heck of a team at the Open. Great match Smitty, by the way if anyone finds a Silver Dawson basepad on stage 1, its mine.
  7. Many of the airlines also carry USPS mail. The USPS seems like it is contracting out most of its mail transport and delivery. Fedex and airlines carry the interstate mail, and when is the last time you saw a mail Jeep and a person in uniform deliver the mail.
  8. How about a steel plate that is used as an activator for a moving target, several times I have seen one turned on edge and not activate the mover? You see these quite a bit attached to a pole holding up a swinger.
  9. It sounds like the thickness is off, I bet a call to YHM will get you a new one that is the right size.
  10. Next 3-gun match look me up and I will let you shoot my Aimpoint Comp, I wont make Malibar but I will be at CFRPC, the Aimpoint red dot works great for our South East fast close in stuff. I want to try an Accupoint for stuff I plan on shooting out west. My Aimpoint works alot better for me than the Eotech did, just how my eyes center the dot, I like the fact that the batteries last forever also. The Benny Hill Simmons idea is good also. Just ask around, at the next match you should be able to try out whatever you want.
  11. It would fit, but I would question the strength for holding a long 1" tube scope with one ring. even if holding zero wasnt a problem, denting the scope would be a concern. Thanks for the heads up on the YHM I was getting ready to order one, that I planned to use with the low #22's. I wonder if yours is just over speck or over finished?
  12. If you still have your singlestack use that till you are dedicated and back in 100%. The glock is a good option for L10 and production as you should be able to pick one up cheep. If you are wanting a full on limited gun an S_I is IMHO the way to go. Make sure you dont want to go ahead and go open before you invest a bunch into limited.

    New Blaster

Paul; What hapened to limited? I thought you gave up on 9mm major, it just happens I will be buying an open gun in about a year, think you will be selling it by then? That is the exact setup I have been thinking about. Look forward to seeing it at a match as long as the weather leaves us alone.
  14. How many tens of thousands of rounds? How many S-I's have you had built and owned? Its about time you took one down don't you think? Be careful, sometimes the insert will just fall right out when you back off the trigger and sometimes it will take some force and that little titanium bow will give. Do you know how to set overtravel dont you? If not take the dam trigger out. If you didnt move 3000 miles away I would have shown you. By the way, its not polite on a borowed gun to play with the trigger assy.
  15. I find I shoot low, I have a habit of putting the dot in the center of the notch like a ghost ring.
  16. The Armalite factory comp works pretty well as a comp, don't get carried away and take it off till you compare it against a few others, it is better than most of the smaller comps. It works about the same as a Bushy mini brake, neither work as well as a Cooley comp but it is good as is.
  17. Do a search under Clays and 45. The faster the powder the less it will be affected by the shorter barrel, the problem will be pressure as clays gets sensitve near 170PF in a 4" barrel, as always start low and work up "using a chronograph" watching for pressure signs in your gun.
  18. Go check out AR15.com go to ammo review and you will have all the information you could ever want. You will find the Olympic has a bad rep for quality control and overpressure. The new polimer coated Wolf isnt bad, I have had good luck with the 62gr. FMJ in my AR's. Did not notice any accuracy changes with the HP.
  19. What kind of "nasty stuff"? Many paints can be removed without hurting the factory finish, you may want to try an acetone or MEK soak before blasting.
  20. Paule, Feel free to hijack my post and let us have a picture of your new mount as well as information on the new NSX 1-4. I am interested in what reticle it will have, as I wish Trijicon would have put the TA-11 reticle into the Accu-Point. Although I am concrerned they will be to $ proud of it.
  21. Well after someone (Eric) woke me up today to talk about this?? I sleep before work remember. Notice the post time. Open; Max Michel jr. Limited; Travis Tomasie L-10; Jeff Gambrell Production; Dave Sevigny Revolver; Jerry Miculek P/S; good luck Rachel, Johnathan, Jody, James, & Jeff.
  22. The mount in the picture of front sight I was refering to is a Yankee Hill 5" rail. Thanks RS The LaRue mount is trick but at $180 I just don't think so.
