  1. I'm using a CZ SP01. For the TG load, I was using 1.150. For 320, i'm using 1.140. What I did was take loads of 1.13, 1.14, 1.15 to the range, all at 4.3gns and bench rest fired at a target 15 yards away and decided on the OALs based on the accuracy. ( 15 yards becauase for me, 25 yards is too difficult to determine accuracy, and 10 yards is too close, everything was hitting the 3 inch diamter circle i was aiming at)
  2. Also, you might want to double check the weight on those bullets. I bet you find they are closer to 125 than 124. The last two shipments I've received of Zero 124 FMJ, actually weigh anywhere from 124.7 to 125.2. Not a huge difference, but if you're figuring out Power Factor, it can make a decent enough difference. FWIW, I'm loading these over either 4.3gns of Titegroup, or 4.3gns of VV320. Both are getting me an average 130-131 PF.
  3. Don't worry Gomer, I heard your invitation was delayed due to the snow storms in the Southeast this past week.
  4. If you think the bare minimum is enough, then ok. But some people choose to wear more and we encourage that.
  5. Bart, thanks for the info. I for one need to change some of the things I've been doing lately. Does anyone know how to get your lead level tested? Do you just ask your regular doctor, or do you need to go to a specialist? I'd like to get a test done to establish a baseline so I can monitor it going forward.
  6. Wow, I had not seen that. Thanks for posting. RIP Major Winters. One of my favorite quotes from Band of Brothers is the very end of the last episode in the interview with Winters. It went something like this: Winters: "My Grandaughter asked me the other day, "Grandpa, were you a war hero?" and Grandpa replied, "no, but i served in a company filled with them". Real class act.
  7. Normally even if people say a movie is boring, or bad, I still like to find out for myself. If you're the same way, I will have to warn you off of this piece of garbage, Don't try and find out for yourself, because this movie is utterly mind numbing. The OP is dead on with this post. The GF and I saw the trailer and thought "hey, kind of looks like a Bourne Identity movie".....it couldn't be far from that. The ONLY, and I repeat ONLY action scenes in this movie are in the trailer. No lie, no exaggeration. And since we're all gun experts here....or at least stayed in a Holiday Inn Express last night....I will describe a scene for you so you can truly see what a POS this is: George Clooney is an assassin, or assassin's gun maker...not sure, never figured it out...builds a gun for a woman. While going over the specs on the rifle, he says the muzzle velocity is 450 MPH ( can't remember exact number, but it was in the hundreds ). Really?? MPH??? I have never, ever, heard someone talk about muzzle velocity in MPH, so if I am wrong on this, please let me know....but i'm pretty sure no one does.
  8. That's a cat?! I thought it was something weird like a wombat or a sugar glider.
  9. Saul Kirsch teaches the same thing....check out the third video down... Strong Hand Weak Hand
  10. I ran all of the same tests several months ago with TG for the 124FMJ ( like yours, mine area all closer to 125 than 124. ) I found the best accuracy was at 1.150. I tested 4.3gns at 1.13, 1.14, 1.15, and 1.16. I shot at an IPSC target at 15 yards. I used a sharpie and filled in a 3" diameter red circle on the target and aimed at it from a rest (basically my range bag). It's easy to see your spread when you have a frame of reference. So my suggestion would be to use the 4.3 and see what happens when you move the OAL around. As GMan said, you want to stay up closer to 135 PF than 130.
  11. Lose 50 pounds Dry Fire, Dry Fire, Dry Fire.... (at least 3-5 nights a week) Work on a good, repeatable, grip Make B in Production
  12. That is funny. Kind of reminds me of when you open a box and it has one of those Silica Gel packs in it, with "Do Not Eat" written on it. Because as you point out, somewhere out there, prior the warning, a number of idiots opened up new boxes of toasters, laptops, etc, saw the Silica Gel, and thought "Wow, what a great product, they even included a free bag of candy!"
  13. Gomer, normally I'd name a price ( which would be based on quantities of Coors Light ) however, sorting brass is so mind numbing I cannot come up with an amount of my favorite beverage that would be worth it! Team Amish, the buckets are awesome, but unfortunately I cannot take credit for thinking of them. My buddy and his wife own a Custom Cake Shop. The buckets are from him, they're Fondant buckets. They are perfect for storing brass, plus your bullets smell pretty tasty after they've been in a bucket of Vanilla fondant!
  14. I hope the OP doesn't consider this a thread-jack, but it's basically the same question using my own data from today. Anyway, Sarge, how much does temperature affect N320? I was at the range today, and it was 40 degrees, and I was testing N320 for the first time. I had various loads, but the one that matches what you mention closest was: Zero 124 FMJ ( which really weigh anywhere from 124.7 to 125.2 ) 4.2gn N320 1.13" OAL I got a high/low/avg of 1059/1032/1046 ( 30 shot string ). Thats a hi/low/avg PF of 132/129/131. I'm running them through a CZ SP01. I usually like being up around 135, as your results show. So my question is, is temperature coming into play here? As it warms up here in SC, will my velocities go up? ( I'm not expecting a huge jump, just curious if there will be any increase with warmer temps ). FWIW, my accuracy at 15 yards was better with 1.14 OAL. Velocities were almost exactly the same.
  15. It is normal. Not sure why it does this, but mine does same thing.
  16. I have the same problem, I feel the need to bring everything with me. Lately I’ve been doing better. What I did was got a 5.11 Rush24 backpack. I’ve scaled back to bringing gun, ammo, small towel to wipe face, small towel to wipe down gun, magazine brush, sunflower seeds, small video camera, pro grip, uplula, tissues. Sounds like a lot, but it really isn’t. The rest of my stuff still goes to the range with me, but stays in the car in the old range bag. I figure a few more times of not needing the items inside, I will leave it home. Point is, the backpack is scaled down and A LOT lighter to carry around on match days.
  17. I couldn't agree more. But with the girlfriend, her sister, and sister's 3 year old daughter running around the house, holed up in the man cave sorting brass was just the ticket to pass the hours.
  18. That is awesome! I wonder how long that took. I loved the individually wrapped eggs!!
  19. Hey Chris...welcome aboard. I grew up in West Nyack, NY. I moved down to South Carolina 2 1/2 years ago for work and can't say I really miss that area( other than family and friends ).
  20. I will second the chamber check. When I was reloading JHPs, they would case gauge no problem, but when I chamber checked, they would stick. I found my CZ SP01 barrel is slightly smaller than the Dillon Case gauge. Based on what I've read in these forums, some barrels are slightly larger than the case gauge, some slightly smaller. Know which one you have, otherwise case gauging might not be the end all test, it wasn't for me. Just my two cents.
  21. That's why he is the only one with a decent New England accent in The Perfect Storm.
  22. Sorting brass should go in the I Hate Forum, but since I just finished, I'm putting it in the What I like!! Tumbled all my dirty brass on Sun/Mon. Started sorting Mon night, finished tonight. All said and done, about 5500 pieces of 9mm. Mostly Win, RP, and FC. Now I just need to get back to reloading. Luckily my company is off from Christmas Eve through New Years, so I finally have time to catch up on my reloading and get ahead for a change. ( the Dillon 550 is just out of the picture on the right). Finally got my hands on some VV N320, so I'm interested to see how that goes. Been using nothing by Titegroup so far.
  23. App is in the mail...can't wait for this one, gonna be good.
