  1. dude i got goose bumps just imagining this occurence The goose that made the bumps got Jerry bumps when he read this about Jerry giving you goose bumps. ROFL ..thank you! I need a good laugh this morning before getting back to work!
  2. Hmmmmm...PBJ's.....can't wait to get the stage you're RO'ing on Saturday. I'll have to make sure you have your back turned while running the timer or scoring....
  3. I HATE standing in a store only to have the store clerk on the phone helping someone. I'm not talking about personal calls...that's a whole other issue, but helping someone that just called in, instead of me, standing in front of them. Put the caller on hold and help the person that got off their ass and actually chose to come into your store!! Ther person on the phone can wait.

Sounds like you prevented them from being Darwin Award finalists! Good for you though, because their winning the award would have possibly cost you your house.
  5. I'm 6'4" and load while sitting in a high stool, so I wanted the extra height the strong mount offered. More stable? Probably not. What you have looks like it is very stable. I added the diagonol cross piece on the top like the instructions said and I used the hardware they provided, I thought it was good. My test was that I'm 300+ pounds, and I can sit or lay on the top ( prior to adding all of the reloading stuff ) and the bench was solid as can be. Mine is 3'x6' and it doesn't flex or bow when my svelte athletic body sits on it.... ( I'm sure High Lord Gomer will jump ALL over that comment if he happens into this post!) Anyway I got the kit from Cabelas and they included the shelf mounts, so the price was worth it. I spent the better part of a Sunday putting it together, but I looked at it as a fun project, not a waste of time. All said and done, I probably could have bought one of the benches others have posted on here from Costco or Sam's, but I was able to build it to the size I wanted. The kit was pretty easy to follow, but this was my first major wood working project since HS shop class, so wasn't sure if I could build something sturdy enough on my own. Now I know.....I could have.
  6. Did you consider getting the Strong Mount? I have the same bench, slightly different dimensions, but same 2x4 kit, and I used the Strong Mount. No need for the extra 2x6. See post #987 for pictures of my bench.
  7. I couldn't agree more with this comment. I've been having issues with my reloads lately as well. Just weren't clean. So I dry fire practiced, with dummy rounds I reloaded myself ( made them red like another person said ), and I practiced. I got pretty confident, very clean reloads.....in my garage. Went out this weekend for the match and it was all different. I didn't fumble any reloads, but they just weren't clean, so I know I still need more practice. So to the OP, I definitely know what you mean. And if you practice a lot, get confident, then go out and blow it....don't get discouraged! Go back and practice some more...that's whay I'm planning on doing. I've got two weeks before the GA State match, and that is one of things I know I'm working on. Good luck and keep at it!
  8. Gomer...we missed you and your canopy yesterday! It wasn't as hot as when you were here, but that little bit of shade makes a huge difference. Thanks again. You going to make it this week? Wellison, you should try to make it to a match in Columbia. They put on a great match. They usually include some kind of lunch with your match fee. Excellent shooters there and the match is a well oiled machine.
  9. The answer is right in front of you..... I Don't Participate Anymore Glad to see you had a good time today, I was in squad 3. There were about 20 people more than normal today. Things ran smooth though, our squad was done by 2pm. Also, lots of Production friendly stages.
  10. When I saw that on the news the other day I thought of the movie Freejack, with Emilio Esteves....anyone remember that one?
  11. WOW, times have changed! When I did it, it was free. Can't remember when, probably 2-3 years ago.
  12. It has no defined front or back. It fits fine either way.
  13. Last week, checked my email, did some surfing on Enos, then went to Midway USA. Ordered $100 worth of goods, placed the order, hit submit. Before I logged off, checked my email again. In the time it took me to surf Enos and place the order, I had received an email from Midway for a $15 coupon on my next order for $100 or more......CRAP!!! Too late to pull back the order, it had already processed! I hate that!!!
  14. I know this is the hate forum and discussions are discouraged, so I'll get this in under the wire..... Call the three major credit companys tomorrow. Have them put a new credit hold ( think that is what it is called ) on your SSN. That way the perp cannot get a new credit card in your name. If anyone tries to get new credit under your name, you will be contacted first. It doesn't cost anything, it lasts for i think 90 days, and then automatically expires. It doesn't prevent you from getting credit, it prevents someone from getting credit in your name. Good luck, and I agree, that sucks...I hope you find the SOB.
  15. I saw this at the NRA Show few months ago. Looked really cool, but like you pointed out, when I saw the price, I moved along to the next booth. My Brass Wizard works just as well, less than half the cost, and I can use it during a match. Can't exactly put the netting down during a match to save your brass. For practice though I would imagine it's a lot easier. Brass Wizard is very good, but it does have its flaws.
  16. Tell the truth! You didn't break it, you lost it when you took it off so you could see inside whee the magic is that makes it work! Shows what you know....I broke it "decapping" a Coors Light bottle.
  17. Just an FYI in case any one else happens on this thread and needs to know where they can find them. The local Ace Hardware was closed yesterday so I had to go to Lowes/Home Depot. Lowes was out, and the label said $1.79. Not sure how many were in the bag since they were out, but based on the other ones around it, I'd say one or two. I found them at Home Depot. 2 in a bag for 50 cents. As others have said, 1/4" e clip. I put it on and all is well again. Thanks again everyone.
  18. I absolutely love this forum. I broke the e clip on the resizing die tonight and was all set to post a picture and ask everyone what to do. But first, I did a quick search and found this old thread. Thank you Benoverse for answering my question before I could even ask it!!!
  19. Everyone knows Han Solo's holster was WAAAY cooler. I'm holding out until I see one of those for sale.
  20. Same exact problem here. I've tried everything i can think of. Turned off all electricity, closed garage door to prevent any breezes, made sure it was on a level surface, etc. I get flucuations +/- .3 grains all the time. I was so fed up I bought the RCBS balance beam scale to put my mind at ease that my powder drops were accurate. I then tried a friends Frankfort Arsenal DS750. It is spot on, no flucuations, just steady accurate numbers. I picked one up from MidwayUSA. For half the price of the JS100xV.
  21. I had a party a few months ago and one of my friends had this bracelt on. I know it's the same, without naming brand names, based on the tests you witnessed. She was testing some of the other guests at the party and they were all amazed. Then she tried the test on me. At 6'4" and 300+ pounds, there is no way she was going to pull me off balance with or without a facocta bracelt! Personally I wear a Phiten necklace, have for several years. I think in some way it makes some of my joints feel better, however, I'm pretty sure it's all in my head. But hey, that's just me. I certainly wouldn't tell someone to buy it based on my experience.
  22. One and a half! Production and half way to Limited.....shooting Limited Minor Blows! I need to buy a .40 cal
  23. If you do decide to go with the extended mag release, there is one thing you have to watch out for. On loaded table starts, if you lay the gun on the side with the ext mag release, be careful you don't accidently eject the mag when you pick up the gun. Depending on how the gun is resting, if the mag release is long enough, the simple act of picking up the gun can possibly push the release just enough to unseat the mag. Result? Bang...click...mag on ground. Doh! I was actually thinking about getting one myself, and after witnessing someone else do this first hand, I opted to stay stock. Now this isn't saying that it is a bad thing, and I'm not saying you shouldn't get one, as I'm sure there are plenty of guys that have them...just my two cents on something you should be aware of if you decide to get one.
  24. According to the previous version of the rule book, that footnote you are referring to said "Special Classifier" matches allowed up to six classifier stages. I'm not sure, but I think you have to get prior approval to run a Special Classifer match. You may reach out to Jack Suber or Linda Chico at Mid Carolina Rifle Club. MCRC usually runs a classifier match around Feb/Mar every year, so they would most likely be able to give you more details. Unless of course someone responds here first.
  25. I saw this on Yahoo today and immediately thought of this post. Very funny stuff. Foul Ball
