  1. I'm not drinking anything but G2 (didn't even know they had a 1 and 3). Has anyone else noticed this - when I drink too much Gatorade during hot weather, my fingers often swell and I loose some sensitivity in them. This happens only with Gatorade - never with water, even in the hottest conditions? Anyone else experience this? Have you tried the G2 powder? It's very good! Tastes just like its out of the bottle. And cheaper. Dump it into a Deer Park sport bottle, and its perfect. ( costco by me has the 24 pack of deer park 24oz bottles for $5 ) Cheaper than buying it by the bottle. And no, I haven't experienced the finger swell. It could be the sugar or sodium in the gatorade that is doing that, especially since you said it doesn't happen with water.
  2. Club is in Spartanburg, SC. We are in the upstate, not near the beach. It was about 40 and misty when we showed up, but by noon the sun broke out and it got up to about 50-55.
  3. CZ's have a shorter throat, not really an issue with FMJ, but with JHP you will have to load shorter. When I was loading MG 124JHP, my OAL's were shorter than what everyone else was saying they loaded theirs to. I shoot an SP01. I never had an issue with feeding the JHP's. A great source for CZ info if you haven't found it already is CZ Forum
  4. How did you attempt to shoot it? In what order did you plan to shoot the plates? Usually the way i see people prefer to do it is top right, top left, right right side, left side, bottom right, bottom left. If you do it perfectly, the star will hardly move. All bets are off if you hit the first and miss the second because now it's moving. When it does, don't follow the plate, aim at the spot you think it will stop, then fire when it does. If you chase, you'll just be wasting bullets. Easier said then done, your brain gets in the way when that thing starts moving and the tendency is to see a plate moving and shoot at it. It can be done, but it's easier to just hit it when it stops right before it goes back the other way. Don't get discouraged on the Texas Star. I think they're fun. Most major matches will have one, so if your local match brings it out, don't look at it as the "dreaded star". Think about it's good practice when you see one at a major.
  5. Thanks for the offer, but I'd rather watch where I walk from now on and save the money for new guns/reloading supplies!
  6. Friend of mine designed and built his own house. The Master Bathroom has a Urinal it it! No more worrying about leaving the seat up and all the nagging that goes with it.
  7. I've had one now for a couple of months. Have noticed the amount of light strikes go down to almost none ( dont want to jinx myself ). Glenn F just installed one in his SP01 last week. i didn't notice him having any light strikes at all, and he was having a lot lately.
  8. Wow, now I see what you are talking about. yes, mine are the kind on the left...no problems at all. I can see where you would have issues. I think it would be worth the money for the amount of shooting you do to not have one other thing to worry about or slow you down.
  9. Understood. Guess I just don't have experience with the exact mags you are speaking of. I thought I'd at least get a laugh out of you for the Cigar comment though. BTW, Going to miss you at the FL Open. Me and the other Glenn will be representing on the CZ's. We both had a good match yesterday, so hopefully that carries over to Frostproof.
  10. Cant you just file or sand down the point of the Arrendondo? Mine doesn't go all the way in, but far enough to displace the metal nub to allow the base pad to slide away. The shaft of the arredondo seems sturdy enough (at least on mine) that it wouldn't flex even if you took off a few millimeters to allow it to go further into the hole.
  11. Dude, you're using the wrong end! That, or you're mistaking the end of the Arredondo for one of your fine cigars! I've been using mine for every match, and then for cleaning between matches, etc...the tip is no where near wearing down. That end fits just fine through the end of a CZ rubber base pad. Just for you Squirrels: Using an Arrendono on CZ 19 round mags
  12. Trust me..it was my fault...in her eyes. I got the "you never come to my side"...mind you, it's 3 feet away. It's not like I took the long way around the house and arrived on "her side". So far so good today. Blisters aren't as bad as originally thought. They should be fine in 12 days.
  13. I'm a big an of Pro Grip. Use it all summer long. Might be more expensive than a one time purchase of gloves, but I don't think I would like the feel of gloves. One word of advice, make sure you shake Pro Grip VERY WELL before you apply. It works because there are tiny micro silica particles in it, and if you don't shake it, it won't work as well as it should. Also, make sure you are on deck or in the hole when you apply. It takes about 15-20 seconds for it to do it's work. If you apply and step to the line, you may be still trying to get it to dry up when the Make Ready command is given.
  14. I never have any issues like you mention. But I have the 19 rounders with the plastic base pads, not the metal ones. I use the Arredondo Mag Brush. The pointy end fits perfect in the hole to push the base plate in. I don't know if this helps or not.
  15. Believe me....as I stood there with my foot in the crapper....I looked up and asked that very question! Answer: "Because I just turned in on and there wasn't enough room on the counter".
  16. I started to write this in the "I Hate" forum, but figured you would all get a nice laugh at my expense..... The day started off well, I had a good match at the local club, so after I got home, the girlfriend and I started getting ready to meet some friends for dinner at a popular new sports bar downtown. While trying to get past her in the bathroom at the double sink, I ventured onto "her side" and proceeded to step on her hair straightening iron with my bare foot! At first I thought I just stepped on something odd shaped, but when I looked down and saw what my toes were on, I noticed the "on" light glowing like a burning sun. Speaking of burning suns....right around that time was when the pain hit me.....and I realized just how hot those things can get. First reaction was to let out a blood curdling yell which made the two dogs we have bolt from the bedroom like someone just rang the dinner bell two houses down. Now the panic set in as I tried to best figure a way of cooling off my now medium rare cooked toes. Bathtub empty, sink too high to get foot in...yep...you got it...I jammed my foot in the toilet! Thankfully it was full of water and nothing else. The whole time I'm thinking %&*#, Florida Open is only two weeks away! So after icing it down the pain subsided, and when we got home later I checked out the damage...two fat blisters, one underneath the 4th toe, one on the side of the big toe. Hurts a little when I walk, but is should be OK in two weeks. Going to have to start being more careful...
  17. Does anyone have insight on US-27? Stoplights. From the airport area, is it worth going the extra miles down the FL Tpke to avoid the lights on US-27?
  18. Shooting out of a CZ SP01, at 15 yards, I was getting approx 3" groups(or less) with 4.3gn TG with Zero 124FMJ (box will say 124 but they are actually 125). I was using 1.150 OAL and was averaging 133PF. Point is, weigh your bullets, verify if they are 124 or 125. And second, I would come down on load to 4.3, and try 1.150 or 1.145, and see what that does to your accuracy. You may even go as short as 1.140. I got good accuracy at those lengths too. I'm not loading VV N320 and it's opposite. Longer is better, my accuracy is best at 1.155. 3" groups at 15 yards are too much spread, you need to learn the grip, stance, aiming and such... OAL and powder charge are dependent on the particular gun and personal preferences. Some bullets will require shorter OAL and thus dictate lower powder charge too. Perhaps my terminology is inaccurate. When I say 3" group, I mean all the bullets are hitting within a 3" diameter circle. Is that not a 3" group, or would that be 1.5" group?

  20. Thanks Chris, makes sense now. Basically what I was doing, but i was seating the mag in practice. I will go with the just get it in the magwell and stopping. Thanks for the tip.
  21. Definitely not disagreeing with you, just trying to understand what you are saying better. First, I always thought you were supposed to focus on the mag well, so you are saying to keep eyes on the mag? You also say keep your head up. How do you do this and keep eyes on the mag? Do you pick up the mag with your peripheral when it comes into range? I've been doing a lot of dry fire lately and practicing mag changes, and fumbling a lot. Any advice is greatly appreciated.
  22. My first thought is, if you put the 9mm top end on, only load one round in the magazine. That way when he shoots his first 9mm round, you can see how he handles the recoil, the shock of shooting such a big bullet compared to the 22, things like that. If you have a full mag, who knows where that second shot is going to go. I did this with my girlfriend when I first took her shooting. It worked out well.
