  1. I know at one point it was pretty common for sig "1911s" to have issues chambering rounds due to their external extractors. Wonder if that was ever resolved? Don't hear much about it anymore but then again I don't hear much about sig 1911s period.
  2. Strangely, every Shadow 2 I've had except one came back from CZC with a heavier but better SA trigger after a race hammer, short resetdisco trigger job. And that's because that one S2 came out of the box with a 3.75lb trigger for some reason. The rest were always 2.75 to 3.25 after installing a 12lb hammer spring but then after I got them back from CZC were in the 3 to 3.5 range with nearly all the take-up gone as well as a cleaner release and shorter reset.
  3. I just pulled the trigger on a Staccato P. Looks like potentially a lot of gun for 1999. However if everything comes off the same line I can't see value in their more expensive offerings. If the XL didn't have those vents I'd be interested, but not at double the price of a P.
  4. Finding out whats in common use lets narrows down your field. Lok makes a ton of patterns and thicknesses alone. Just hearing the names CZC, Lok, Armanov gives you dozens of choices. It doesn't mean you are not making a good choice based on your specific hands and grip.
  5. VZ is great for 1911s and Berettas but for CZ Lok has far, far more options.
  6. Yes they all come that way, I think the 20lb hammer spring is what they ship with. Install one of the lighter ones in the case or order a CZC 12lb and call it a day. For DA pull the hammer spring is almost everything. My S2 Oranges are around 6lb in DA with the CZC 12lb

    CZ TS 2

I'm not near my notes right now but I think the Stock III slide is 13.2oz (S2 is 13.7, 1911 in .45 is also 13.2) while the Limited Custom was 12.3 (almost identical to S1 or SP-01). The TSO slide is also 13.7 if I remember right, the extra length being offset by the slimmer SP-01 profile in comparison to a S2. I would expect this new gun to have a slide at 14oz. I'm obsessed with frame, complete upper, barrel, and slide weights.
  8. They just went back to EAA again and are now doing triple SNs like most European gun manufacturers.

    CZ TS 2

I never understood the argument that the bull barrel is heavier. To make room for the thicker barrel, material is removed from the slide. I compared the weight of my Stock III and Limited Custom. Both upper assemblies are within a few tenths of an oz of each other, just one has more in the barrel and the other the slide. Now if you're in the "less slide mass is better camp" then the bull barrel dies give you that----same weight up front but with a lighter slide.
  10. Weird. I'm the opposite. I refuse to own a CZ with a firing pin block or decocker. I think the trigger quality is worth the perceived safety risk.
  11. Impressive, I assumed you'd need a machine rest to truly see the difference. I know I'm not good enough to really see the difference between all my various S1s, 2s, Oranges, Accushadows, etc.
  12. Maybe that's why Tanfoglio refers to it as an "interrupter".
  13. Yep, Patriot Defense has done 4 guns for me and all came back great.

    S2 Hammer Spring

I've only tested CZC 12 and 13lb, no lower. With reduced power firing pin spring and extended firing pin I've yet to find a primer the 12s can't ignite, so thats what I put in everything except my EDC Shadow 1. I have a 13 in it "just in case" but as I accumulate more and more rounds downrange on guns with 12s without issue that may also sport a 12 someday.
  15. A chrome stock III would be nice, which these almost look like. In theory I like the conical bull barrel but I have owned several Stock IIs and Limiteds now and for whatever reason Tanfoglio just can't seem to consistently fit these barrels as well as the Stock III type. I'm also not a fan of these newer slide cuts.
  16. All the differences are external and you can see them. The limited master is imported by IFG and the limited by EAA
  17. Buy Shadow 2 OR Install CZC extended firing pin, reduced power firing pin spring, 12lb hammer spring, recoil spring of your choice. Enjoy
  18. The Mec-Gar 17/19 round body is very, very different from the CZ 18rd body. I've seen people say that Mec-Gar also makes the OEM 16 and 18s, but never seen anything definitive on it.
  19. I've been looking at these too but also was concerned about having to feel one of each size to see what truly feels best.
  20. If anything I would assume it would be a CIP vs SAAMI issue.
  21. Weird how both CZs AND the clones seem to have shorter than typical chambers.
  22. The TSO ships with one now, but the part is different from the S2. Maybe the part # can be obtained and one can be ordered.
  23. Forge welded is still welded, two pieces were joined.
