  1. Weird, I buy from them without issue. Surprisingly the stuff I buy from there gets here very fast.

    Shadow 2 Compact

Trigger reach wise it'll be the same, it just has the "dogleg" that some people hate and others love. I like it, like an arched mainspring housing on a 1911, standard Beretta grip instead of Vertec, or SVI/Infinity Signature grip. I think it fills the hand better. I agree with the poster above, I'd prefer the standard S2 safety on the compact also, I need a thumb shelf.

Man a steel frame version would be even better. With the way CZ seems to import in "batches" I wonder if/when we'll see a flood of these?
  4. I settled on CZC 12lb. It brings the DA to 5.5-6.25lbs and with extended firing pin and reduced power firing pin spring I've tested it with the hardest primers I know of----IMI and M882 and have had 100% ignition.

    Shadow 2 Compact

Yep. I refuse to own a CZ WITH a FPB so am pretty excited about this offering. I don't care what anyone says even when both have been worked on the FPB equipped guns just don't have triggers that are as good. And in my eyes the FPB achieves nothing. I've been using a customized Shadow 1 for carry (overall it is a bit smaller than a S2) but this could change that.
  6. In person, no. Pics of broken extractors on forums, yes.
  7. With Springfield's reputation for low quality low cost MIM parts with shallow heat treating, I wonder how long a gun with a trigger job could be expected to last?
  8. Threads? I thought the XC comp was integral.
  9. But yet of the common 2011 chamberings it introduces the most problems with its short length and tapered case.
  10. Weird, guess it can vary a lot or that's an expensive magwell.
  11. I know this is a bit old now but I just got the last guns I ordered exactly a year ago and am working on another build and it is within 100 bucks of last year's orders at 5600. This is for a coated limited style gun I'm sure to get it to 7k there would have to be accessories involved or maybe some really above and beyond type of options.
  12. Well I can't comment too much on the most important things (shooting characteristics) since I only got them Friday and I'm still kind of laid up with 2 herniated discs (was confined to a chair April 7th through about the 22nd). But I can say just handling it and doing drawing/presentation side by side here in house as I try to see what I'm capable of the 5" definitely feels much better balance wise in the hand despite the difference only being 1.6oz. I went with the medium of the micropocket textures--- they have standard, tactical, and aggressive and I went with the tactical and it does seem pretty grippy. I love the grip shape, so much better than other 2011s with the straight back. It reminds me of a Shadow 2 or Tanfoglio grip. I'm really pleased with the slide serrations I chose they look pretty traditional but man, they can shave your skin they're so aggressive. Very well done and funcitonal.
  13. Everyone says they are the most plain SVIs they've seen---but that's the way I like it. Both are sight trackers, the 5" CrN coated gun weighs 49.2oz (it does have a tungsten guide rod) and the 5.4" DLC coated gun weighs 50.8. The trigger pulls came in at 1.75lb and 1.375lb respectively.
  14. I guess I can order one to try. It isn't like the MBX mags don't "work", they just don't drop free most of the time without a wiggle or pull. When mags cost 90-130 each it would be nice to have one that works in all my 2011s though to the point where if I found one that works just as well across all of them I'll consolidate to that.
  15. How old is it? SVI didn't always use the higher mag catch they now use.
  16. Looks like my dream of a universal mag will continue to be just that.
  17. I'd like to find one 2011 magazine that works in all of my guns so I don't have to have several kinds, each for a specific brand. SVI mags are great but won't work in STI/Staccato (or Nighthawk, looks like Staccato mag catches there). MBX mags technically work in everything, they just won't drop free from my SVIs.
  18. I should have 2 guns in hand soon I ordered a while back to post comparisons of. Both will be coated one is black DLC the other CrN.
  19. Oh, I bet that's it then as I ordered 2 guns in May that I'm about to get. Looks like my next 2 are going to cost significantly more. When I was chatting with Brandon we discussed the insane increase in copper (I sell it) and he told me that they consume a lot in the EDM process.
  20. Is that recent? Maybe they just had a big price hike. I know when I placed the orders I referenced above they mentioned material pricing was skyrocketing.
  21. When I compared STI, MBX, and SVI mags I notice that only STI mags have the unusual large gap between round 1 and round 2 that's supposed to be indicative of potential issues. This is with the latest STI mags and all stock components.
  22. I also have 2 SVIs on order, both sight trackers with nothing flashy and paid mid 5s. I was told if I went with bluing vs the fancy coatings I would have saved 7 or 800. Single side safety, iron sights, more traditional serrations, rail, full dust cover, etc. I hear you on the Staccatos, was referencing them for price only because clearly in that range just get an SVI.
  23. Depending on how he built it it would come in considerably less than that. Other people are recommending guns just as expensive. (Like the Staccato XC). If you forego the fancy coatings any sight tracker build should be in the mid 4000s.
  24. If I wanted a .45 I'd go with an SVI.
