  1. I think he got tired of all the guys who don't shoot Steel Challenge telling him how Steel Challenge had to change to make it better. Nolan
  2. Norma makes 9mm Makarov which is larger diameter than 9mm Luger, case mouth diameter of 9.91mm (.39") vs 9.65mm (.38) and base diameter of 9.95mm (.392") vs 9.93mm (.391"). Measure the length, Mak is 18mm (.709"). I have no idea how loose a Mak chamber is, but it's probably pretty loose so the case mouth diameter would probably be even larger than 9.91mm. Nolan
  3. Typically a Glock's extractor will hold the rim of the 9mm round enough to actually fire the round, but no recoil to cycle the slide. I've seen this at the range when a wise acre handed his buddy a magazine loaded with 9mm for his Glock "40", much hilarity ensued. I still have one of the empties. Nolan
  4. The Steel Challenge had a board of directors before USPSA bought it, of course it was a board of 2. Mike Dalton and Mike Fichman. I second Moto's question: "what problems are you trying to solve?" I shoot both USPSA and SCSA and voted "NO." I think SCSA is doing just fine. Nolan
  5. Have you tried separating the upper from the lower, or removing the mag release button as above? With the upper removed you should be able to see what is hanging up the magazine. If the magazine still has the last round bolt hold open feature, the spring loaded tab may have over-ridden the bolt release. Nolan
  6. True, but by the time you jerk the trigger with your weak hand, it won't make much difference at handgun distances. LOL! I don't cant the gun because I can't get my elbow in behind the gun. Nolan
  7. Don't overthink this, it ain't rocket science. Use one of the existing holes and drill a new hole at the location that gives you the angle you want. Re-install the hardware. Takes a couple of minutes for each pouch. The Tee nut doesn't interfere with the magazine. Nolan
  8. Looks normal. Springs take a 'set' after being compressed and will be slightly shorter after the set. Nolan
  9. At 3 - 5 yards, depending on angles and where the RO is standing, it is very possible to see/notice the bullet strike the target in peripheral vision while still focused on the shooter and gun. Nolan
  10. You don't wear ear-pro? I'm not a smoker, never have smoked, but this used to be a free country and if you want to smoke....that's your choice and I support your right to make choices. I'm not sure whether this thread started as a troll or not, but since you asked, I voted NO, not only NO, but Hell No! Don't give the snowflakes any ideas!!! Nolan
  11. Ditto! Almost always somebody with a 97 round extension and 1.1 grains of powder in range scrap brass under the cheapest bullet they can buy! Rowdy's advice is spot on, follow it! Nolan
  12. If the spring in the either the sizing die or expanding die are 'unexpectedly popping', the spring pressure is set too light. Tighten the cap screw down more. Nolan
  13. I use these primer pocket gauges. https://ballistictools.com/store/swage-gage-small-primer-pocket Very handy for checking primer pockets. Nolan
  14. Then in that case (excuse the pun), if a shooter's gun failed to eject, i.e. left an empty case in the chamber and the shooter pried out the empty case with his pocket knife without first determining whether it was a partial case head separation, the shooter would be subject to DQ. So how many on this forum should have been DQ'd for that offense? I can think of one PCC only match where 98% of the match would have been disqualified! LOL! Nolan
  15. The shooter could argue it was not an obstruction of the "barrel." The obstruction was in the chamber. I know, I know semantics, but.... Nolan
  16. mmmm, resurrecting zombie thread or is the date in the poster wrong? Nolan
  17. 18. And speak with the orifice at the upper end of the gastrointestinal tract, instead of the one at the lower end! Nolan
  19. I get a DANGEROUS WEBPAGE BLOCKED warning from Norton anti-virus from that link. Nolan
  20. Plus it's hilarious to watch them forget to remove the hand warmer and cram a magazine in at "Load and Make Ready"! Don't ask me how I know how funny it is to the peanut gallery! Nolan
  21. Use a medium blue or green background for better contrast. Nolan
  22. Since mine are all on game guns, I haven't staked any of mine and have never had one come loose, but if it was a rifle my life depended on, I would probably stake it. Nolan
  23. In the 90's the prize tables were HUGE! Seriously, each division had 8 to 10 of the big long 8 foot folding tables that were loaded! Of course there were only 2 divisions back then. Nolan
  24. What is the feel when initially pulling the bolt back with the charging handle? I tried the Taccom magnetic delayed buffer and really did not like how hard it was to rack the bolt back with the charging handle. It felt pretty good shooting it, but having to really jerk the charging handle to open a closed bolt sucked. I wonder if the Scheel buffer will feel like the Taccom? Nolan
