  1. I have one of the 'standard' 1301 Tactical versions. I added the Nordic 2 round extension kit. https://nordiccomp.com/categories/beretta-1301-tactical-mxt-extension-kit/ I think I bought mine off Ebay. It fits perfect and works well with the rail on the right side (charging handle side) and the QD swivel mount on the opposite. I had to use the Nordic spring and cut it down to length. The Beretta spring was too light. I also replaced the stock front sight with an XS Tritium sight. https://xssights.com/standard-dot-shotgun-bead-benelli-m4-beretta-1301/. I don't like pistol grips on shotguns, so I kept the standard buttstock, but it doesn't have a QD swivel mount like my 1301 Competitions, so I bought one from Brownells https://www.brownells.com/shotgun-parts/receiver-action-parts/receiver-action-hardware/nuts/swivel-nut-insert-xtrema-2-sku913200245-99239-56873.aspx?sku=913-200-245 and replaced the sling mount with the QD swivel nut. I already have several Blue Force slings. I also added an Esstac sidesaddle, just for the Timmy vibe. I really like it. The only thing I haven't done is open up the loading port. It does quad load, not easily, but it does it. Nolan
  2. It's not the striker or firing pin hitting the primer, it's the breachface slamming into the LRP which stands proud of most pistol brass. Smitty
  3. Nerd holsters make one for open pistols called the Urn. I have one that I use for 3-gun in open division. I use a pretty standard STI Trubor with a C-More Serendipity sight. The holster works fine and so far very secure. https://www.weare-nerd.com/competition-products/pistol-urn-open-holster I didn't use the supplied hanger. I made my own to fit my ELS belt rig. Nolan
  4. The Caspian HiCap frame does that, it use slightly modified 9mm CZ magazines. Unfortunately that magazine design has the base pad retaining lips turned inward rather than outwards like the 2011 magazines, making them unsuitable for increasing capacity by extending the base pad. For a long time 170mm magazines had to be made by cutting and welding 2 magazines together. I think it was Mecgar that finally started making 170 CZ tubes, but they were pretty hit or miss. I haven't kept up on who is making 170 mags for the CZ/Tanfo/Caspian guns... since I retired my Caspian Open gun 20+ years ago. Nolan
  5. All it takes is one local DA like Thomas Binger with political aspirations to make this match a legal nightmare for anyone with any magazine that holds more than 15 rounds. Nolan
  6. Ditto! There are plenty of other Rimfire only competitions outside of USPSA. Even here in Commiefornia, there are couple of clubs within a 2 hour drive (if you drive fast enough) that have Mini Rifle, Mini Action Pistol, Mini 2 Gun, etc... matches often enough to shoot .22lr matches almost every weekend, besides the usual Steel Challenge, Rimfire Challenge, PRS, etc... Nolan
  7. Or worse, running off to some gun plumber, who thinks he is a gunsmith and buggers it up big time. Nolan
  8. I think this is what your looking for. $7.35 plus shipping https://www.midwestgunworks.com/page/mgwi/prod/60497 Nolan

  10. Before you do something you'll regret, get a cheap borescope and look at your barrel. There is an old saying about more barrels have been ruined by poor cleaning methods, than have ever been worn out. $40 for pistols https://www.amazon.com/Borescope-Cleaning-Right-Angle-0-2-Inch-Diameter/dp/B08D67H7LZ/ref=sr_1_18 $46 flexible for rifles https://www.amazon.com/Teslong-Borescope-Side-View-Semi-Rigid-Smartphone/dp/B07TTQF24F/ref=pd_bxgy_2/138-6158370-7899260? I have the rifle version and it works well. Nolan
  11. The Tactical Solutions X-Ring receivers, bolt and recoil systems are a proprietary design and no Ruger parts, other than barrels & trigger groups, interchange. Did you check any of the measurements I suggested in my previous post? If anything in the trigger group has been changed, it could be causing increased drag on the bolt. Nolan
  12. You are absolute correct, but when it is almost a full grain over the published max load.....ehh. I think you can safely (Excuse the pun) consider that a high pressure load. Nolan
  13. It is a high pressure round if you're running a 180-200gr jacketed bullet with a fast powder like Clays, which was a very popular USPSA Limited Major load for at least a decade. Fortunately, there are now some more forgiving powders. Nolan
  14. I hate that I have so little to HATE about. Nolan
  15. Are you sending a complete rifle back, ie. barreled action, trigger group, and stock or just the barreled action, or ??? Nolan
  16. Just watched Young Fronkenstien again last night. What a cast! Sadly so many have passed. Very few movies are actually funnier than the blooper reel. Nolan
  17. If you want a couple of hours of hilarious reading, google "christopher eustice optics and ammo" Optics and Ammo is a scam site operated out of his parents basement. The owner, Christopher Eustice is a real piece of work. While out on bail on felony fraud charges from his Optics and Ammo scam, he starts another online scam site for luxury watches. Nolan
  18. Ask over on Rimfire Central as well. The have a dedicated Winchester section. https://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=52 Nolan
  19. The ambi mag release on my MPX is not super stiff. It is slightly heavier than the right side button, but not significantly heavier. It does require more travel before it releases the magazine. Nolan
  20. MPX has an ambi mag release. Which probably doesn't matter because if I remember correctly Bdh821 shoots Lefty. Nolan
  21. Congrats, and modest too! Just kidding! Nice finish against awesome competition. Nolan
  22. What trigger group and trigger do you have in the gun? If you have a fish scale or an accurate kitchen scale, remove the stock and either just use the fish scale hooked to the charging handle, with the hammer uncocked, pull the charging handle back for a full stroke while watching the indicator on the fish scale and note the reading throughout the entire stoke. It will be highest while cocking the hammer, then lower once the hammer is cocked. Repeat with the hammer cocked. For a kitchen scale, place the rear of the receiver on the scale and carefully press the changing handle down for an full stroke with the hammer uncocked. Watch the reading for the entire stroke, then repeat with the hammer cocked. Be careful not to only hold the rifle upright and don't add any downward pressure other than with the charging handle. Remove the trigger group and repeat the test. I don't have any measurements on hand, and I won't be able to measure any of my rifles for a couple of days. The measurements with the hammer cocked will be higher than with the trigger group removed, but should not be drastically higher, ie. several pounds higher. Re-install everything into the stock and repeat the first test. The other thing to check is the fit of the extractor. When Tactical Solutions replaced your bolt, they may have just swapped all the bits and bobs over from your bolt onto the new bolt. Nolan
  23. I've had good luck with Nelson Custom 2011 magazines. The price has gone up, but still not terrible at $40. https://www.nelsoncustomguns.com/store/index.php?l=product_detail&p=18 Probably not going to be able to add much capacity. Nolan
  24. “Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” Mark Twain True in the 1870's and still true today! Nolan
