  1. You don't rake much at all off the back of the feed lips. Your basically angling it to fit. A gauge is needed for that method
  2. When I was shooting skeet I got this advice from a multiple time world champ. No one on this field can beat you. The only way you won't win is if you don't do your part. Ie as long as you don't miss your unbeatable.
  3. For me it's the tube length being closer to the barrel length. I'm running a +8 on a 1100 so 12+1 and the tube is a couple inches past the 28 inch barrel. I like the extra weight and sight radius as I prefer a heavy shotgun
  4. I have the new Nordic tube which is notched for the clamp to sit in so it won't move. I have never had a poi shift with my old setup with a clamp and poi issues
  5. cold bore customs. he does a very professional subdued job over the big dots etc if thats what your after
  6. like was said they may or may not fit. I just run the std +1 and don't worry about cutting it close. All mine are 20 rounds reloadable with that setup and grams guts
  7. Im waiting on the grip Bobby is coming out with. From what he was saying the price would be pretty close to the Aluinum grip STI has. Just cant see paying close to a grand for the grip and fitting for an SVI
  8. Run a 9mm spartan here and got it fully race ready for less than the cost of a trojan with magwell grips new trigger parts and trigger job and a solid front sight. It runs great with the tripp for 10 round and "springfield" mags for 9 round If you can get your hits your good and the extra 2 rounds makes a nice advantage sometimes
  9. I think he is asking if you shot a 40 that light before
  10. For a mag release I like basically a mid length. I round the factory release over and then bevel the edges. There isn't a short edge on it to rub your palm
  11. Have one if the lone Wolff 24 slides that's black and blind marked. I have not had a problem with it and like it better than factory was it has the front serrations
  12. Tripp dosent show an officer sized mag for the 9mm which is the gun that's posted about. Your officer mags are not as common as the full size. For my full size I'm running Tripp for 10 rounds. For 9 rounds its the Springfield style with the groove in the front and the pre feed ramp. Both run perfect. For the officer the Springfield style works
  13. Its happening alot. I know one where a layaway was cancelled as it was "accidentally" sold and the money refunded
  14. They are all very tight as they want to eliminate any chance of an 11th round being added
  15. The main thing is you don't want the carrier ley loosening and causing the gun to go single shot. I stake mine and use std weight carrier and a rifle buffer as well as a non adj gas block as I want a gun that's simple and runs over tweaking it to the max.
  16. Para holsters are usuly different than sti
  17. Just keep your eyes open and get on some back order lists such as brownells. I don't see a ban on them coming. Give it a couple months and the supply will catch back up
  18. Its a total rip off for anyone other than the seller. When buying the bids as long as they have a few people heavy in it it goes on forever as Once they have "invested" so much in bids they hate to stop so they keep throwing money at it.
  19. Go bottom first if you can. If the chokes are already in the gun and you want th reversed just flip the switch
  20. Lited you can get 23 in the mag with 9 mm. I would let them start in limited minor. Less reloads and stage breakdown
  21. If the stage is over about 26 rounds I use a 45 rounder if its a host stage. If it involves going prone I will use a coupled 30 mag as it monopods great. For stages that are shot from a sloped "rooftop" i have a 20 rounder I will use. I occasionally take a beta mag with me for the occasion where I need the rounds and I dont want alot of extra length on the bottom.
  22. Steel challenge is the best and easiest to get started. The advantage of either a 22 open gun or say a glock open gun shooting minor for USPSA(VERY soft to shoot) is it takes one part of the shooting equation out. It is easier to shoot a gun with a dot than it is an iron sight gun. It allows more focus on the trigger pull etc when your not worried about keeping the sights aligned. The big thing is they go out and have fun and getting frusterated isnt the way to go. I worked with kids when I was in college at a YMCA summer camp running their shooting thing and brought some guns with red dots on them and shot some pretty big reactive targets for people starting out as it allowed easier success. As they progressed moved to more of the iron sights and worked on shooting the regular paper targets and going for score etc. Was still a blast though to bring back the red dot guns and have duleing tree races with the advanced group.
