  1. You really need a chrono if you are going to be loading. Usually the 132-135 range is where you wanna be for a 9mm load.
  2. Run 9mm here because it's easier and cheaper to get brass and I have no intention of crawling around searching for every piece of brass. I shoot and leave it or maybe pick up some of everything after the match
  3. I assembled one here and it runs great. I would pay to have the ejection port lowered though as that's pretty much needend for reliability
  4. I shoot and enjoy both. I can shoot quite a few more pistol matches locally than I can 3 gun so I shoot pistol more but when there is a pistol and a 3 gun match the same Day I shoot the 3 gun as it's not as avaloable as much
  5. I have a 17 I'm using as a backup that I shot before the STI
  6. I would probibally get the production gun and shoot that and while your waiting and then you have another division you can shoot over a backup for the same division only that will basically sit in the safe.
  7. That is the barrel twist. The faster the twist the better it does with heavier bullets usually I run 1-9 twist on mine as I shoot mainly 55 grain bullets. If I were using the 70+ grain unwound go to the 1-7 or 1-8 twist.
  8. Up to the rangemaster but if the gun breaks and you replace it with one that fits the division requirements I have never seen an RM have an issue with somebody switching to one that fits the division requirements if the primary broke
  9. Never had a problem either of the loctite colors. For a comp I would go with the red. The key is proper degreasing of the surfaces prior to aligning. A lot of the problems I see with loctite are people not prepping the parts correctly.
  10. The black ice is not production legal if that was the goal
  11. If you do a site picture at make ready it will never bite you.
  12. Most common fix is tape on the glasses. Another way is shoot with 2 eyes and blink the eye once the target is picked up
  13. Actually buckshot and pistol rounds penetrate more than an AR will. I have no problem using a shotgun though for the home and a 18 or 24 inch wouldn't matter much
  14. For limited I run either 1 or 2 on the belt depending on the stage.
  15. Ccf frames are out of business. The idea was good but they didn't work well with anything but factory parts
  16. What is the length of the slide on the gun now as a true commander gun is 4.25 not 4.15 and the commander slides are pretty available If it has to be cut I would check what a local one man machine shop would charge to cut it with the proper tools as its probibally pretty inexpensive and the. Do the rest yourself. DIY often gets expensive without the right tools.
  17. Why not sell the slide and buy the correct slide for the gun.
  18. And also from James Yager, A 1911 is like a stripper, a glock is like a Fat girl
  19. Bigger is not better on shotgun sights. On a shotgun you shoot with a target focus so the bead shouldn't be overpowering.
  20. Ya it's rare to see one too small. Are you sure the gas block is aligned correctly
  21. Mine is a full size but I do have popple holes in the barrel. I get like 175 pf at 8.2 and 8.5 gets me 180pf with a 124 Montana gold Cmj at 1.17. A shorty with no holes should be in that range. How are you checking your pf on a chrono ie how far back are you as you need to be back a little more with an open gun. Your powder charge is what alot are using with a 115 grain bullet
  22. if you are using 9.1 grains of HS6 with a 124 grain bullet and only getting 167 PF something is seriously wrong. I load mine with 8.2 grain and a 124 and am in the 175-176 range at the same 1.17 OAL. I basically do mine with VERY little if any belling and stabilize the bullet on the down stroke and mine does not move at all when pushing it on the bench
  23. Not allowed and stage guns are a bad idea anyway as your expecting a shooter to safely operate a gun they may or may not be familiar operating and shoot that gun for score. Also expect to have that gun abused by the shooters using it. Personally I would ground that gun the fastest way possible and that's gonna be pretty darn rough
