  1. I ran a 10 for quite a while which was nice with AAA 147 grain minor loads. But since it's a duty gun and I run more factory ammo than match ammo, I switched to a 12 and I really like the way it shoots. It seemed like I was waiting on the slide (4.5" Sight tracker) with the 10 pound spring. The 12 seems much faster.....
  2. Not yet. I was at the factory this weekend and it is SOOOO close to finished, but just not quite. Oh well, I haven't shot enough this year to matter anyway. Hopefully the 5.4" will give me the motivation I need to get going again.
  3. The summer before my freshman year of HS, I cut about the same amount off of my weak hand pinky with a joiner. That is the first day I openly cussed in front of my Dad!! I know it hurts......but get well soon
  4. +1 Lots of it. I take 3000 mg in the morning and 3000 mg at night
  5. Yeah, this has gone WAY of track. It's about what the pistol looks like.....not who made the grip, the frame or whatever. We all have our favorite......
  6. SD, No offense taken!! It would be quite boring if we all owned and shot the same guns.... Trace
  7. I was going to touch on that myself, but didn't. Good point though. And I have to agree. Good group and good looking pistols. Competition isn't a bad thing, but you have to compare apples to apples.
  8. I dont know if they are offereing them in varying degrees of "texture"?? Can anyone confirm this? The texture on this grip is just right... not too grippy where it hurts like the SV, and not too little where it os slipping. Brian, as of now, only offers this texturing, and plain (no texture).. If you have further inquiries, please contact Brian directly. Thanks Dean, Keep in mind that you have several choices with the Infinity grip textures......60 or 120 grip tape, aggressive micro pockets, tactical micro pockets and standard micro pockets....you seem to imply they only offer the aggressive micro pockets.... Thanks, Trace
  9. Love my BGE....I cook on mine or my Brother in law's at least 3 times per week
  10. My roomy backed out and I have an extra queen sized bed at the Courtyard if needed....
  11. The Shooters Connection bags are the best I've seen personally. I went from a 5.11 bag to a smaller SC Ultra bag. I miss the size of the larger 5.11 bag, but the SC Ultra's construction is far better. I"m currently in the market for the large SC bag.
  12. Send me your DA. HAHAHA Sent from my iPhone 5 using Tapatalk 2 Whats your address?
  13. Hmm, I'm not sure what going on with your eyes, but when I have perfect "front sight focus" the front sight is perfectly clear with both the rear sights and target blurry. I if you are seeing two targets or two front sights, that could be problematic. It's possible that your eyes may not be tracking equally.
  14. That seems like a bit of a bizarre non-sequitur to me. Are you expecting any concealed-carriers to whip out their guns and start playing with them? Personally, the more law-abiding concealed-carriers there are around me, the happier I am. Perhaps that makes me a redneck or something. Funny story. We were doing sign up for a match last year when a very "new" looking shooter showed up. Somebody noticed a mag in the gun and before anybody could say a word he whipped it out of his IWB holster and proceeded to take the mag out at the registration table. We stopped him before he got to the point of racking the gun. Needless to say about a hundred people yelled stop and he thought we were weird and asked if we had never seen a loaded gun before. He said it was his carry gun and it should be loaded. He was DQ'd and went home. Don't recall ever seeing him again and that did not my feelings one bit. Sarge, There is nothing funny about that story to me. I get what you are saying and I love the fact that USPSA has strict rules that help to keep our shooters safe. But, when I hear you say that it doesn't bother you to DQ a brand new shooter who probably never read the rules and tried to join our membership....then I think YOU failed us. There has to be a slight "breaking in" period. Because we can't expect new shooters to know all of the rules. So when they show up, we HAVE to give them special attention to help them be safe, have a good time and enjoy their experience. Of course this is simply my opinion.
  15. Our club does not allow LEO to carry loaded unless they are there in the performance of their duties. They would be asked to unload. For the sake of argument, if it's during their duty hours, they are in the performance of their duties whether eating lunch, driving or arresting criminals. FWIW, I worked security at last years Double Tap Championships. I did catch a few odd stares, but as far as I know, no one complained.
  16. Yeah, this will be my first Nationals too and I'm trying to make some plans. I clicked around on the Nationals website looking for the Match hotel, but did not see one. Does anyone know which one it is? Also, I'm shooting Limited 23-25. So, would flying in on the 22nd and leaving on the 26th be adequate?
  17. Whats the difference between concealed carry and a uniformed Cop showing up to walk around and check out the match? We've had Texas Highway Patrolmen show up at the Double Tap Ranch several times. Porter never seemed to care about their loaded/holstered Sigs.
  18. My 6" Infinity Limited gun has not had a failure in over 13K rounds. So I will put Infinity Firearms #1 on the list.
  19. Welcome!! You've come to the right spot. Where in Texas are you?
  20. Exactly. Most field stages have a lot more moving than shooting. So, IMHO, if you can move quickly/efficiently and you shoot well too or at least as good as the heavier/slower shooters, then the faster shooters should have the advantage. I'm not nearly as smart or fast or as good a shooter as Andy, but this simply makes sense to me... :-)Edited to add, when I say fast or faster, I mean "foot speed".
  21. Agreed, but "everything else being equal" isn't reality. The reality is that all that really matters is the shooting ability. When I go to a match I'm not worried about any one else's fitness level, I'm worried about their shooting ability. Then why don't you gain 50 pounds and see if you still perform as well as you do today....
  22. In my opinion, there is such a thing as too stiff. I started out with a CR Speed belt which served me well for years. I then drank the cool aid and went all DAA, which was Super Stiff and Super heavy. SInce then, Ghost International has supplied me with holsters, mag pouches and belts. I prefer their outer belt with a super still inner belt. This allows you to fully engage the belts. My DAA rig was so stiff that there were many points where the belts did contact each other. Ghost International has the right combination for me!!
