  1. No doubt it was hot. But it's Breckenridge, Texas in the summer time. Everyone knew that when they signed up. Other than the heat, I thought it was a great match. November would be awesome!!
  2. The pic is too blurry for me to really see what your talking about, but I think you are referring to the ejector that doesn't appear to be blended to the slide? From what I can tell, the extractor was properly blended and there is no way that pistol left the factory without the ejector being blended as well.
  3. Infinity Target Zero Billets sights. My highest round count gun has over 16K through it and the sight has never walked or broken: http://www.sviguns.com/1101.php?indx=16
  4. He's training...not competing. And although he is a GM in USPSA and I think based on the fact that his student has a light attached to his Glock they're training for personal defense.
  5. Yep, it sucks, but don't let it make you quit, just learn from it. My first Major was the Double Tap Championship in 2008. I got DQ'd 6 shots into my first stage for sweeping myself on a retreat. To make things even worse, I was the last shooter on our squad and the next squad was waiting/watching too. I lived through it, you will too!!
  6. I work 40+ hours a week and still find plenty of time to cook on the BGE 2-3 times a week. I've had several gas grills, a Traeger and now a large BGE. It is by far the most versatile grill I've ever owned. FWIW, I've never owned a true wood smoker. They do look interesting. Maybe one day.....
  7. Steve Speer made GM in Production after the age of 50......He's in the DFW area.
  8. When I got it, the slide stop was modified to not lock back at empty. I installed new stop and it would only lock back with certain mags. Installed longer 170mm mag springs and the slide locks back on all mags but sometimes will drop when I eject the mag. Slide lockback with certain mags problem free but other mags it will sometimes not push the stop up enough and slide will drop sometimes but not always. You paid for SV. You get factory support, call the shop. Sounds like you might be messing with sucess, is the gun broken in? You are correct, most LIM/OPEN shooters do not want the gun to lock back. Unfortunately, I bought it used...does the warranty cover second owner? I often get heat about my choice for lockback. The main reason is that our multi-gun match rules require ditching pistol with slide locked back and I feel it's quicker to shoot an extra shot or two to dry than to eject and manually lock the slide back. Additionally, I shoot L10 and can't seem to count to ten under the pressure of the COF. Call Brandon at 972-513-1911 to see if he can help you with your pistol. If it is a factory built pistol, he may be able to help you out. Personally, I would put the original slide stop back in along with Grams guts in the mags and get used to locking the slide manually.
  9. Welcome!! Where do you live in Texas? I think it's funny that you capitalized Texas but not Colorado
  10. It happens all the time for me and unfortunately, I/We have to look for appropriate responses etc. Death has become an unfortunate part of my life for far too long. God Bless You for what you do.
  11. Not necessarily, I think a pretty big named GM has blown some minds by saying that he places a lot of attention on the target when shooting iron sights. Basically a target focus. Looking through the sights right to the target. I think it depends on your skill level and amount of rounds down range. We have an older GM around here (Mick Nelson) who can shoot just about as accurately and fast firing from chest level as he can when he (pretends) to be using his front sight!!
  12. Our club has more or less died. First, our trailer which contained all of our wall, steel, stands, etc was stolen. When we moved to a more secure range, it ended up being sold.
  13. Welcome! Where do you work? I'm stationed in Hurst.
  14. A couple months ago, we had a family get together where me and my Nephews shot a bunch of rounds through my 6" Infinity Limited gun. Everybody was amazed when we finished the session by shooting C zone steel at 75 yards. One of my Nephews really wanted to buy an Infinity, but they're way out of his price range right now. So, he ordered a Rock Island Armory Double Stack 9mm. I didn't even know they made such a thing. Anyway, I looked at their website to see if I could find out what magazines they use in their double stacks, but couldn't find the information. Have any of you seen one of these in person or know what kind of mags they use? https://us.armscor.com/products/2011-high-capacity-tactical-9mm
  15. Thanks for the comments! I can't see myself being done with the Sport, so I guess I'm just waiting for that "morning" to come......and I hope it's real soon!
  16. For about the last 14 months or so, I've gone through a tremendous amount of changes in my personal life. So personal, that I won't go into detail here, but it's safe to say that it would get almost anyone down. One of the biggest side effects has been my lack of mental motivation to shoot or practice at all. It's really weird when you consider that for the previous 4 years, all I did was think about this sport, shoot matches and practice when I could. It was one of the most important parts of my life. Now, even when there is really nothing keeping me from getting up on Saturday morning for a match, I find excuses not to go. It's too hot, I'm too tired or whatever.......And it's not for the lack of support. My Sponsors are fully aware of whats going on and they are supportive, as it my Wife. So, the question is, have any of you found yourself in this position and how did you find the motivation to get back on the range? I have a new 5.4" Sight Track due any day now, and I'm hoping/praying that will help me get going again. I do miss shooting and the opportunity to shooting with my friends.........
  17. Thin grips, no ambi safety and special roll marks.
  18. I've had three Baers over the years and a 5", hard chrome, Custom Carry was the best of them.
  19. Hey I'm sorry to high jack the thread, but I'm about to send them a brand new G34 or G17 for slide cuts, trigger work, sights and coating. Any reason why I shouldn't? Their work looks awesome on their website. Thanks! Trace
  20. No doubt about it. This sport is just like training drug detector canines. Shit it.....shit out. If you want to dedicate yourself to several (correctly performed) dry fire sessions per week along with 1-3 live fire sessions per week (correctly performed) along with a couple of matches per month, you will most likely improve faster that the person who trains less..... But seriously, it takes money, bullets, time and talent unless you are one of the few greats who had initial classifications of A+.
