  1. Up close, without question the 5.4 smokes the 6. Time and practice will tell at distance. I also went from 1.5mm to 1.0mm FO front sight. So that will take some time to get used to also.
  2. Both have signature grips with grip tape and XL competition mag well
  3. I don't know how it could possibly slow things enough to equal adding another complicated step to the process. Lube your cases and get after it.......
  4. This is about Shawn, not Lesgar. Nobody is saying anything negative about Shay's guns or Lesgar. I'm simply applying common sense, not a physics degree to the question at hand. Should Shawn spend the cash to have his slide travel farther during the recoil cycle, which may cause the pistol to feel softer? Only Shawn knows for sure, but for me, I'd go the other way, especially with a 9mm. As far as videos go, watch Candian Team Member Mike Burrell shooting his 5" Infinity with two shock buffs to "short stroke" it. He's super fast too. Just proves that GMs can do things we Mortals can't... :-)
  5. Comparison between Stainless 6" bushing barreled Limited gun and Carbon Steel 5.4" Sight Tracker: 6" Limited Gun 5.4" Sight Tracker Slide = 12.7 oz Slide = 11.6 oz Barrel = 5.0 oz Barrel = 6.7 oz Complete Pistol = 45.3 oz Complete Pistol = 46.8 oz Whats kinda funny is, the 5.4" actually feels lighter in the hand than the 6" pistol.
  6. I would think adding distance for the slide to travel would have to take longer for the gun to cycle. 9mms are soft anyway, so I'd pass on the option. I've actually gone the other direction by short stroking my pistols. I run an alumabuff in front of a Wilson Shock Buff. Shred told me about this combination and it works very well in my 6" gun.
  7. Ummm, You certainly have part of the answer there. The other two main ingredients are a lighter/faster slide and a heavier barrel. So, you have less reciprocating mass and another OZ or so on the end of the barrel which helps with muzzle flip. I will have time tomorrow to weigh some things, so I'll post comparisons of my 6" and 5.4" just for grins.
  8. I just completed my first 300 round range session with the 5.4 Sight Tracker. I'm very impressed. It has the best trigger of any Infinity pistol I've ever owned. They're all good, but this one rocks at a crisp 1.75#. Slide speed and sight recovery, especially on hoser targets is significantly faster than the 6" Infinity I've been shooting for the last two years. It shoots flat, but will be even flatter when I exchange the 14# recoil spring for a 12# recoil spring at 1K rounds. It will take a few more rounds to determine if I like the 1mm FO front sight better than the 1.5mm I'm used to. And I'm still getting used to the rear FO sight, but I like it so far. The only slight negative is it doesn't shoot plated bullets as well as the 6" pistol.
  9. They probably have all the business they can stand. However, they are active on the 1911forum.com
  10. I agree with the 180's but I disagree with the need for a redding push through die. 100% of my brass in once fired police brass fired through Glocks. I use a Lee udie with my Dillon 650 and have only had 2 cases fail the case gauge in over 20K rounds. Reloading takes enough time as it is, I can't imagine having to add another step to the process. FWIW, I only case gauge match ammo and I've never had a round fail to chamber at a match or in practice.
  11. The main issue I had with stock STIs were the extractors. But, maybe Dave tunes those with the package.
  12. I feel like there is an "SV likes his triggers like he likes his ladies" joke there somewhere. I don't think anybody like "flat ladies"......
  13. Well, I hope I never give one a reason to think about it!!
  14. It's only money and they seem to be a pretty good investment these days!!
  15. What do the "diamond" serrations look like?? I'll try to get a pic of them. They looked cool, but I wasn't able to see them in person. If you'll join the Infinity FIrearms group on FB, it's on there.
  16. They have some new Diamond serrations that they didn't have when I ordered this one. That "might" be the only thing I'd change. This is the first time I've tried the FO in the rear sights as well as the front. Time will tell if that was the right decision. But, I love the look, feel and balance of the pistol. It's also the first blued, carbon steel Infinity I've owned.
  17. After an 18 month wait, she arrived today..... Blued carbon steel slide and frame. Xcellerator slide serrations, front and rear. Tri-topped slide. I'm very happy with the way she turned out!!
  18. The purpose for me is simply the look that screams Infinity. Although I'm sure they do remove some weight. If you have 3 serrations they will be .250" wide If you have 4 or 5 serrations they will be .178" wide. Hope this helps....
  19. If you don't get an answer this morning, I'll measure mine this afternoon when I get home from work......
  20. You mean 5.4, yes. Go with the 6 inch set up. Rich Nope, I meant 4.5" or IMM length. It's an open gun minus the Cmore and comp. It's my favorite shoooting pistol. [/url]
  21. 4.5" Sight tracker......mine runs like a sub machine gun!!
  22. My first Infinity limited gun had 120 grit grip tape and was also used as my duty gun. While it was an awesome pistol to shoot, it murdered so many shirts with the grip tape, that I ended up selling it. You may be able to find a holster to protect your skin, but your shirt is still going to take a beating.
