  1. Aside from what's been said above (which I agree with) looks like you just need to shoot some more matches, things will start to become easier as you gain more experience. Use the walkthru to figure out every step, shot, and reload, then just playback when the buzzer sounds off. Based only on these vids, it seems more like you need some "mental" practice vs. physical. Keep us informed on how your doing. Good luck!
  2. And battery technology has come so far in the last few years!
  3. I burn enough ammo in semi auto mode, hats off to the man who can afford a full auto diet!
  4. I loaded some .223 with varget other day, and left them in the truck while at work, it was maybe 80F or so in there when I left. Strait to the range, found a good zero at 250 yards, packed it up. Showed up at match this weekend, and I had left the ammo in the truck at the hotel, I usually bring it up to the room, but said screw it this time. Temp got down to fortysomething that night, I noted how cold the ammo was when loading my mags that morning. First stage, targets around 180 yards. I was aiming 6 o'clock, and couldn't find a hit for the first 10 shots or so. I was sweeping left, and right, but when I moved high, I got a hit, cleaned the rest of them, and figure the temp variation was the only varible. Later that day we had a long range stage, so I loaded up some black p-mags, and put them on the dash in the sunshine, until the ammo was very warm and toasty. Shot that stage without a hitch, impacts were normal. So, there appears to be some variation with the varget, it's not the perfect stable powder I thought it was. YMMV.
  5. Well, add me to the list of full magazine detonations. I decided I was gonna load up some 9mm on my brand new xl650. I have loaded 10-15k on a 550, and never had an issue, but somewhere between 200 -300 on the 650 I had a primer detonate on seating. Rung my ears, and it was just one primer, so I checked out everything, and continued on. Funny thing though, I thought, "Damn, that was loud, so I reached up on the shelf, and grabbed my ProEars, and continued on. Good thing I did that, because on the same magazine tube, about 20-30 strokes later....KABOOOM! That rattled my cage a little bit LOT! I took the toolhead off, poured the powder out, and walked away. I'll be calling Dillon in the morning.
  6. Jeez guys! Just practice both, be smooth. Some idpa stuff doesn't require concealment.
  7. Its ok west, we brought some of your blazing speed with us, well maybe it was just your ar15 target trophy, but I think it must have helped anyway. Ryan, I was scratching my head at that, I saw both of them, it looked like there was no "glue" connecting the brass to the plastic. There may not supposed to be any, but I always imagined it was glued together somehow.
  8. I hope I never see them close by, I might have to use some unconventional crowd dispersal techniques.
  9. Mine was feeling better last week, so I went bowling........DON'T is my advice.
  10. After maybe.... heck not sure how many rounds, but it was after I started practicing regularly, when I came to the point where I had a dud, or slide didn't lock back. I'd have this god aweful flich looking thing happen. Someone I was shooting with once saw this, and said I had a flinch, and of course I argued because had it been a true flinch, I'd be missing the target, but was very accurate with my shots. I thought I was some sort of shooting reject for awhile, then I read here somewhere, that it was a sign of advanced marksmanship, where you were subconciously driving the guns recoil back down. So, just thought I'd put that here since I noticed it the other day, yet agian, I felt alomst embarrassed, and even looked around to see if anyone saw it, even though I was by myself.
  11. which in turn would make your home owners and car insurance higher.......offsetting any gas savings by pumping early in the morning
  12. mobil one mostly (for years). Won some Slip 2000 that I really like also.
  13. I've owned one, basically a glock with a crappy trigger.
  14. I'll add that I've noticed Jerry is using them also, there must be something good about'em!

    New Glock 17

I bought a competition spring kit, and polished the internals. Made a huge difference. OH, and before that, I shot it stock with the 3.5 disconnector for 3 years. The spring kit cost me $12, don't remember the disconnector, but it was about the same. I'm not doing anything else. Do this, and the other $200 would better serve you in purchasing ammo!
  16. compressed air, and some kind of CLP type cleaner (whatever is around) Wipe with a microfiber towel, oil, and continue.
  17. Yes, same thing happened to me, hold on I'll find the link. here ya go. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=111553
  18. I'm not familiar with the hogue tubes, but most attach to a barrel nut of some sort. There is a lot of info here and on the web, just search it out. I'd call hogue, never dealt with their tech service personally, but I'd reckon it's worth checking there.
  19. adjust the swager, and load some test rounds. What velocity are you sending these?
  20. I'd also add, save up your money, and in the meantime just hawkeye the classifieds here. You will find a good deal!
