Maybe I over answered the question, I just thought of some examples when I did switch out chokes. My mod lives in my shotgun, any others just visit now and then.

All chokes are useful. I've had to use a full choke on a falling steel plate at 10 yards, because there was a non shoot penalty target a few inches away. Same thing on an MGM Spinner target, full choke, high brass number 6 shot. On the converse, if you are breaking clays only at 10 yards, or flying birds only, then use a cylinder/diffuser whatever choke. If there is heavy steel, you may need to use a tighter pattern to get all of the shot on target to assure a fall. Sometimes you have to pick an inbetween, like if there are clays, and heavyish steel, then maybe a mod choke. Each stage is different. Dress for the occasion.

Including the muzzle attach point it's the 3rd one back.

All I have is a stick welder, I do not want to burn thru the barrel! think I should find someone with a tig setup?

It is not broken metal, but the weld popped loose on the 2nd point of attachment on the barrel, and now I have a hump while looking down the rib. I'll be using this gun in Vegas next week, and it will work, but what repair methods would you consider? I was thinking of a c-clamp and some silver solder/ torch. Oh, it's a Salient Benelli M2, probably factory benelli vent rib barrel.

Practice. It is definitely key to sucess. With that being said, I bought a jp ctr02, sic titan, and fine tuned my ammo a couple years ago when I started to take this game more seriously. Dot movement was diminished from my carbine setup Last match my gas system choked when the weather got cold, probably had some carbon buildup also. Cost me half a stage to buy that lesson. Guess I agree with most others here, but get a good trigger and a comp........then practice.

Considered one berm with a 300 yard reach, or 500 yards if you can. All you really need is a strip to shoot through with long range rifle, then have it open up at the pistol distances you require. I have my own range. It is split into two locations, I don't have a ranch, but just a few acres to work with. Pistol berm is only 8 feet tall at my house. Rifle range is accross the street in a hayfield. Again the berm is only about 8 feet there. I mow a strip down the field, and poison a little circle of grass at 50 foot intervals for a quick distance measure, and just shoot prone from between 50-350yds. I don't own the hayfield, but have permission to shoot there, maintain my "shooting ally" and to build the berm in the back. I can't do anything like a bench, cause that would interfere with the hay production. Good luck, I've got a thread on here somewhere with some construction pics. North facing is great, my pistol bay faces south, but I have large trees around, and behind so it's not a big deal.

An accurate point Kurt. So I guess you and Patrick are saying James and Kelly better keep practicing. James was a hard act to follow this past weekend. Kuan said it best, "We just wanted to grab hold of that mountain man beard and hang on!" However I did pick up a Prismatic off of the prize table, so I might have to drink that kool-aid myself. Kurt, I shot irons long before anyone even knew me. I shoulda never got curious about dots, guess it's like that first hit of crack or something. ha ha ha.

I didn't turn in a smoking performance by far, but I was in the most relaxed mindset I've been in for a long while. I had a real blast shooting this match! Thanks to all that made it happen. Great Job!
