  1. In addition to what everyone else said - never be in a hurry. be When doing my last year of pharmacy training, an old pharmacist working with me said, "fill'em fast, but don't hurry, or you'll hurry up and kill somebody". Ill always remember that lesson. Seems it carries over to other things as well!
  2. Great shooting with you as well, and I see there is a new young gun shooting strong!! Well, you all were very nice to the young gun, and I want you all to know how much it was greatly appreciated. He was grinning ear to ear the whole way back home. He should be grinning and I bet dad had a pretty big grin himself. Great shooting with ya'll and the others on squad 7.Keep up the good work. See ya next time Brandon It was an awesome match, and tell Christian the 10 year old girl that came to the prize table with me was asking all about him on the way home Sunday. Apparently, he is "fine". Good to meet you guys, here is my match vid.
  3. The air compressor with pistol grip nozzle! Indispensable.
  4. Welcome Josh! You've found the right place for shooting sports advice!
  5. but it's about 100 miles away (up), so just the usual orbital speed. Kinda looks like a jet liner 5 miles up doing 450 miles an hour. Also, morning and evening are the best times, sun still hitting the station, but dark down here on earth, 100 miles is a long way.

When the first squad gets done shooting and the gun is holstered they will give the range is clear command to let the second squad know that they can proceed. The second squad RO will then give a going hot command and that course will be shot. This has not been a problem in the past as far as I know. The guy was not down range when I started the course but had gone down while I was shooting. I really think it is time for this guy to give up shooting as he has been DQed for breaking the 180, got away with firing a shot into the ceiling at the indoor range and several times this winter he got to the line and when told to make ready his gun was laying on the safety table. I plan to talk to the club president about this shooter. My wife was uncomfortable enough that she would live the firing area at the indoor range when he was shooting. My daughter, after shooting steel last summer, has taken an interest in USPSA and shot her first match this past weekend. I don't want to have to worry about her safety due to issues with this shooter. Gotcha, I was a little confused then. I've seen that very situation first hand. It's good they still want to shoot, but it's like the whole driving license thing. Feeble person passes the test, then run thru the DMV office with the car. But, cars have brakes, bullets don't. Thats a tough one man.
  7. I blackened the end of my finger this weekend on a SJC comp in one shot. It didn't hurt at all, but it wouldn't wipe off either.
  8. Well, I loaded 4 in 3.71 this weekend Keep that up, and you are gonna be at the top in no time my friend! Freakin fantastic loading!

Scary man....safety first! Why would the RO call "range is clear" if you're about to shoot. Might check into that. I'd ask for better coordination/cooperation in that situation.
  10. Cool thing about rudys is you can mold the ear and nose piece for a perfect fit, and they can be returned for a full refund/exchange I think up to 3 months.
  11. Long range shooting used to be my downfall, then I started practicing it, and now, it's just another skill in my bag. Know your zeros, know your holds, and by all means send some metal downrange! It will freak you out how much easier the 300 yard shots are. Oh, and I shoot 1x RDS. I have been practicing the 4moa, and don't have an issue with that size.
  12. The pH is simply the negative log of the hydrogen ion concentration, so a larger concentration equals a lower number.
  13. You have to load up your coordinates on earth first, or pick a nearby preloaded city. Then, it's like a compass direction for the Azimuth 90=E, 180=S, 270=W, and so forth. Then there is the distance above horizon, or altitude, with the horizon=0, and strait up=90. A fist at arms length is right at 10 degrees. It's pretty wicked how accurate those times are, if you get a chance check out an Iridium Flare! Next brightest thing is a full moon.
  14. Larue Tactical brisket wraps.....mmmmmmmmmm. 1 between each stage.
  15. Before I was a chronic shooter, I was a chronic astronomer.
  16. Check out this site, there is a schedule for everything out there! http://www.heavens-above.com/
  17. Not typically a necroposter, but I caught some hammer follow in action this weekend on video. Here is the clip. I slowed it down, and zoomed in some. Here ya go.
  18. That sucks dude, hate to hear it, you had a good run going otherwise. I really enjoyed meeting you and the rest of squad 14, I am going to try to make the match next year if I can, I had a great time. - Justin Thanks man, you sorta got robbed yourself, we all felt worse about yours than mine...
  19. After trying out part 2 in live fire practice a few times, I finally got to try it in a match situation this weekend, turns out, it works!

    DQ video

Update.....dq at larue multigun today. Cut loose on a popper with a slug, and I knew i'd screwed up before anyone even heard the sound. I looked at the ro, unloaded, and asked for some pasters, now I think you all would have been proud of my handling of the situation. The funny part was the ro seemed a little taken back by my well mannered response, like he was prepared for a fit of some sort. And I was having a faboulous match to boot......
  21. I'm sandblasted, sunburnt, full of brisket wraps, and happy.....
  22. Yes, square in the middle of the pad of the finger, and press strait back while maintaining sight alignment. Lot of dryfire for you! Welcome!
